SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The Guild Wars 2 site has been updated with official information about the Collector's Edition of the game. The CE features a metric ton of nifty stuff including access to all beta events and a groovy Rytlock miniature.

In addition to the above, folks preordering the Collector's Edition will receive three days of head start time, a Mistfire Wolf elite spell, the GW2 soundtrack, frameable prints, a golem banker and more. Preorders begin on April 10th with the Collector's Edition of the game coming in at $149.00.

Check out the full details of all editions of the game on the Guild Wars 2 site.

I'll probably go for a CE.

Nevermind.  I want a three day head-start, not a one day head-start.  Digital Deluxe it is.

I would buy it for Soundtrack alone but damn it is pricey. This could be very well my first CE for any MMO.

Read this on massively and laughed. I guess this does prove devs do not pay attention to other launches and how crappy the press was on Bioware when they included a $100.00 doll in there CE.

Also one day early of game access is a joke. People will still buy this because they are sheep and do not understand this continues to send a signal to other devs that it is ok to rip off the mmorpg playerbase. I do not agree with this and THE ONLY areasoning is they have to mark up the box price because the game is B2P.

I'm well aware that the price is steep.  However, I like to support companies that produce products that are innovative, and Guild Wars 2 is that.  It's the first MMO in a long time that I'm actually excited about and not because of hype, but because of what I've already seen in the actual game itself.

This hardly makes me a "sheep".

You are not forced to buy the CE of GW2, buy the normal box for half price ?

Cant wait to pre order the CE, April 10 !!!

This may also be a small hint that the release date is sooner then we think :)

I wanted to buy CE for the 1st time in my life but it's a little bit expensive. Especially that they add a figure which I'm not a fan of. I'm more interested in posters/artbook etc. Oh well I can live with standard or deluxe edition =] btw. they released min. sys req. too.

There can not be a double standard or people will look like hypocrites. You cannot rail against the TOR CE that was the most expensive in history where EA blamed it on a Doll, then support this. People labeled Bioware greedy and EA the devil because of the CE, but ArenaNET gets a pass?

My only idea as to why this could be justified MAYBEEEEEEEEE is because of the B2P.

what is the bro, are you trolling?

actually there ARE people who DO have money. i know, it's hard to understand, but some people like having figures and such ^^ and this does not make em sheeps. this makes em richer than you as it sounds  :>

I think that would be the best excuse why it is ok for Anet to do it but EA/Bioware was flamed for it.

It's one day for the CE as you have to pick it up in stores.  The other versions get more head start time.

All pre-purchase editions include these exclusive bonuses:

Access to all Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Events

    Three days of headstart access

    Hero’s Band Hero's Band Provides: +2 Power, +2 Precision, +2 Toughness, +2 Vitality, +2 Condition Damage, +2 Healing, and +2% Critical Damage

Everyone who preorders get 3 days head start, not just the CE. From the official page.

And at least did they have a digital deluxe version which I plan to get for a lot less price with all the in game stuff included. The big CE is something for people with special interest in the game.

  • LashleyLashley Member UncommonPosts: 587

Definitely pre-ordering - was gonna anyways, but wont be getting CE.

  • FalcomithFalcomith Member UncommonPosts: 831

CE ready? Wow. Then maybe we will see the game by June.  I must make an April 10 note to purchase.

  • frogtownfrogtown Member UncommonPosts: 59

I wonder if the Collectors Edition is the only pre-order edition they will have.

And did they push back the end of March Beta event since the Collectors edition is giving you access to all Beta events?

  • Cod_EyeCod_Eye Member UncommonPosts: 1,016

I said I would NEVER buy another CE after FFXIV, but that Char model is really clawing at my wallet.

Anyone know if it matters where you pre order?  Like if you pre order through, say, Amazon, do you still get the three days advance?

You want me to pay to play a game I already paid for???

    Be afraid.....The dragons are HERE!

  • UnshraUnshra Member UncommonPosts: 381

Gotta love how people flip out over the box price just as they did for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The reason why it cost so much is because of the statue, those run for $90+ alone which really jacks up the price. Personally I think they should offer a option with out the figure for those that done care about it as it does raise the price up a good sum.

Because flying a Minmatar ship is like going down a flight of stairs on an office chair while firing an Uzi.

That charr looks awesome, but I'm not really someone who buys these things. I'll probably preorder the Digital Deluxe.

Someone over at guru said if you pre order through NC Soft you get 3 days, otherwise you get 1. No idea where the info came from though.

It could end up being crappy PR if GW2 fans do not start reminding people of this. Just my two cents.

At the german Version of the Website is 3 days Headstart Included for all pre Orders! But that's way to much for me for GW2. The normal Edtion would be enough for me.
