The game is amazing indeed but I think TERA is jumping on the Dynamic Event bandwagon with the Nexus. The counterpart is that the game engine shows its limit here because the game was not built for such massive invasions.
In the land of Predators, the lion does not fear the jackals...
I don't think the engine is the issue here. The problem could be the gameplay itself. Looking it from the healer perspective, raid frames are useless, since you can't use them t heal. Trying to target your allies in this massive environment of chaos will be extremely challenging. Priests will have it a bit easier with the AoE portion of their spells, but Mystics will certainly struggle.
That's amazing? Really?
Too many people. It's just a massive zerg fest.
It doesn't even look like PvP, it's two groups standing oppisite eachother firing at one another.
Massive PvP to me should be capped at 100 per team for me, so I'm not ganked by 1000 fireballs at once.
How does it look amazing????? Just 2 big grps standing opposite one another. I fail to see what amazes you about it.
Land of AKA Godzilla with Wifey
I guess one man's amazing is another man's poop. Some people consider amazing PvP arena style only. Others like open world PvP. Still, you can't have two armies waiting to clash against each other and not find it interesting. Pointless perhaps, but interesting and entertaining to watch nevertheless.
Btw, to the guy above, I don't think each group on those videos had more than 100 people.
It's almost like people didn't do the same thing and post how great the PvP for WAR, AOC, or Aion was ... wait, oh man, I can't hold back the anticipation. You think people would get tired of hyping everything like it's going to be much different from anything else.
I couldn't make heads and tails of what was going on in that video.
I don't know i think everyone has its own tastes, but i used to love those massive open world pvp in lineage2
I've got to say you really do bring up a good point regarding healers, within massive groups in this game.
But anyway this really is just a massive zerg fest with not much to help break it up. Now if there were fighting over something and had siege weaponry to help discourage cumpling up together, then I could see some potential.
Well, they could be just two big guilds dueling (not sure about the proper word) in a sort of last man standing wins way.
You would be surprised how much fun it truely is, but i guess you got to be in one to fully experence it. Considering how crappy other games handle massive pvp I can understand why people feel that way. Swtor totally failed in that department, it will be interresting to see if GW2's havoc engine is up to the task!
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
I hope you are trolling. There are 2 groups of players standing there spamming their spells, how is that amazing?

Amazing lol
Well, what are you doing... Stop them!
How!? I don't know... mock them, tell them how boring it looks or how something else is better. Just do something!
All these crazy kids and their enjoyment... I will crush it all!!
Just not worth my time anymore.
Fight looks nice but the music is terrible
My all time favorite game is DAOC, so I obviously love the big fights, but that just looked like a big stale mate. Not my idea of fun, or amazing. I still remember my time in Shadowbane. I was part of a guild called Deathead Legion, and well we owned the server. For people who are going to play this game, hope one guild doesn t become that big, it even got boring for me on the winning side.
You can be "at war" with up to four different guilds at once. Once your at war with another guild every member of that guild becomes KoS to you and your guild until one guild wins. There are two ways to win: one guild earns a certain amount to kills or which ever has more kills after 24 hours. This is completely separate from the Outlaw system.
There is a guild war window that tells you who your at war with and keeps a record of all guild wars going on, past and present if your curious. If your on a PvP server and in a guild it's always good to check when you log on lol.
Just not worth my time anymore.
What is not initially noticed is that they aren't locking on to their target and selecting an ability like a typical tab target game. In that case your abilities can go through what ever is in front of you to hit your intended target.
TERA has target/hotkey ability combat with collision detection so it makes battling in a big group much more fun IMO. Healers and ranged dps especially since both have to target and bodies can get in the way.
Just not worth my time anymore.
I hope you're not saying this is "open world pvp" it is just 2 organized groups facing against each other, this isn't even remotely what anyone who has played DAoC etc would consider open world, ie games that really were about open world PvP.
The vids posted here are shockingly bad and i doubt Tera will be as horrid as these, it's a bad bad advertisement if so.
My exposure with open world PvP was with early Lineage 2, not DAoC. Guild fights, alliance fights, castle sieges, territory denials were the main open world activities. Also the draw was more into the affection you had towards your guild or alliance, the one that you helped make because you invited the right people, you fought the right battles and held the right strategic goals, as opposed to some artificial drawn sides found in faction games.
But before all that, your engine must allow it. I suppose these two videos presented are just an indication that the engine is capable. I can also see how mad fun (or mad frustration) it can be for a healer in that group, when you can only heal a certain unconventional way. Or how collision detection may prevent you from "strategically" retreat deep in your own ranks when your own people block the way in this massive group, since everyone has collision detection.
It's not those videos that are the fun part but more the potential that they present. Do you think watching numerous people hammering a door in GW2 is fun? Still, the potential of territory control and castle sieges is great. So is the potential for mad fun in ship bound combat in Archeage.
There is one thing about watching a football game and another about actually playing it.
I'm just gonna leave this piece of entertainment here for your pleasure and viewing.

What do you mean? TERA has FFA OWPvP and you can group up like this and wage a war on another guild if you want, theres no factions, guilds are your factions.
I don't know how this is anything but OWPvP, it's just another form of it.
CURSE THESE PEOPLE FOR HAVING FUN ON A OWPvP SERVER, THEY AREN'T DOING IT RIGHT. THEY SHOULD DO IT THIS WAY OR ELSE IT'S NOT REAL OWPvP!!
What I am saying is let people zerg if they want, organize battles if they want, be chaotic if they want, just seek out fair fights if they want, gank if they want, isn't that OWPvP?
This is wonderful open RvR, my style, gank group(ie 1 group) vs other gank groups or vs the zerg. Recorded many moons ago but still great memories http://www.gamerstube.com/videos/gank-group-action-by-spirit-from-ys-vid-1-7186
this is where you are wrong.
the majority of the Mystisc's healing is orbs. you dont need to target anything. you just drop orbs all over the palce and it's up to your team mates to pick them up for healing. (you can actually see all the pink orbs on the ground in teh video)
contrary to what most people think Mystics are incredibly better (and funner) for pvp healing simply because they have incredible mobility with their blink ability. this game rellies heavely on dodging attacks and a teleport every 10 seconds makes Mystics as slippery as eals. Priests on the other hand dont have any mobility so as soon as they get focused fired they go down like cheer leaders on prom night.
Priests are pve healer and Mysitcs are pvp healers.
