contrary to what most people think Mystics are incredibly better (and funner) for pvp healing simply because they have incredible mobility with their blink ability. this game rellies heavely on dodging attacks and a teleport every 10 seconds makes Mystics as slippery as eals. Priests on the other hand dont have any mobility so as soon as they get focused fired they go down like cheer leaders on prom night.
Priests are pve healer and Mysitcs are pvp healers.
Well mystics can't pump out heals like a priest but their survivability and buffs for crit multipliers would make them better in my opinion as well. Doesn't matter how good your heals are if you are dead you are worse than a healer that is alive.
Mystics with the glpyh for teleport jaunt can also have it chain, causing it to proc multiple times if you get lucky, making them slippery than even the slipperiest of eels.
Also once again I would like to add, people deciding to schedule a GvG zergfest for FUN is such a bad thing?
It must be horribly boring if they are DOING IT FOR FUN and not rewards right? Jeez, since when did we need incentives to partake in OWPvP, so much entitlement in this generation for MMOers. Lighten up a little, you can do things for "FUN" you know.
I have had plenty of "FUN" PvPing for no rewards in TERA as well as for rewards by scheduling 10v10 deathmatches with other guild leaders, you can make some good money with the betting system in place if you've got a good group going up against some cocky fellows.
Priests have more heals and stronger heals and are definately the better healers when others are getting focused (like in PvE)..
the orb system of Mystics is kind of hit and miss because a lot of times you put down a whole bunch of orbs and nobody picks them up. you also cannot efficiently heal others remotely, not only do you have to drop an orb at their feet but they also have to pick it up. if some one is stunned or cced or knocked down you can't save them because they can't press "F" to pick you your orb that is sitting right at their feet.
heaving said that, in pvp the first priority of any decent group is to kill healers asap and that's when things start getting very uggly for Priests because they just can't get away. i would understand if hey had heavy armor and could just tank a lot of damage, but they can't. they also can't heal on the run since most of their heals are channeled.
With all those people there, neither side any lancers?
What I find amazing is that with collision detection and tab targetless aiming you could have had all the lancers form a line, use their chains to pull in the other side, one by one, and actually have military style battles. That video was just a zergfest that could have showed much more....

Hah, I actually saw a video like that of a fight in a mine, a line of six lancers or so just made a wall across the path with blocks up while healers just target healed the lancers and ranged classes spam DPS'd from behind the lancers lol.
The turning point in the fight seemed to be when a small squad, including the recorder, swung around to flank the other guild. The collision detection is indeed a huge factor and if you have lancers and zerks to protect your healer you can pick another team apart.
In most situations I think ranged dps should be your first strike in mass or team PvP. A smart healer will be behind the lines and you'll lose too many in reaching them. Ranged dps on the other hand is squishy and has to stay out of the pack to aim.

Seemed to have worked quite well.
Exactly! Real tactics and strategy will go miles in this game. Use the terrain to block a path, flanking, so many things a coordinated guild could do to rise to the top of the charts.
How does it look amazing????? Just 2 big grps standing opposite one another. I fail to see what amazes you about it.
Agreed.
I really dont want to hurt anyone feelings but if you think that looks amazing then I dont know what to say. Just 2 huge zergs standing around.....literally STANDING around and not moving, not fluid, not polished and downright boring. Sorry this looks like crap IMO.

sadly Lancer, while looking incredibly cool, are very usless for pvp. they do crap all damage and their are incredibly slow so dodging their attacks is super easy. their only cool ability is their chains and a few of their stuns but that's about it. most of their knock overs are at the end of skill chains and as soon as you see them starting a chian all yuo have to do is dodge out of the way. kinda lame

it's kind of a funky system.
That's a good strategy at lower levels but priest & mystic's are very hard to kill at higher levels. So it might be best to just keep the healer busey by harassing them with a warrior or lancer, then let your DPS classes focus on the main threats. That's the impression I got from lv50 and up.

No, this is incorrect IMO.
Lancers are great for PvP, especially with their amazing CC abilities coupled with the fact they can block incoming damage and take forever to kill. They can be a real nuisance, stunning and CCing enemy healers or keeping people off their own healers.

Your post makes no sense, not polished and huge zergs standing around?
How do you polish OWPvP when two guilds decide to just go to war with eachother in a massive zerg standing around, like your post literally makes no sense. These people are doing this STRICTLY for FUN, it's not some instanced game or some shit, they met up and did this for FUN in the OPEN world in this zerg fashion.
I've done GvG and find it fun as hell too, so whatever to each their own, but at least make sense when you complain.
Yes it seems like a zerg fest , but at least it looks to go smootly.. For now we don't understand what is going on and it's normal we don't know the spells and gameplay much..
For world pvp i find that amazing, and for sure in a 100vs100 encounter be ready to be targeted by 70 fireball at your.. But that is a war.. why on earth would you charge a wall of gunner/archer. This is what i kinda call a war. you can understand everything.
I do hope there will be arena style pvp too that's all, but i do wanna live both

For a game which is supposed to offer aim yourself, dodge, dynamic combat it looks too static. It almost looks like old Lineage 2 footage. Except that: Asian culture + Asian art style + pedo bears = no go for me.

Lol that's like turning down photoshop because someon drew a stick figure and said "look what I can do".
edit: I don't mean to bash the OP's video, and this only shows a little part of what TERA will do.

Zerg if you want to zerg, play skillful 1v1 if you want, up to you, one video doesn't dictate how play should look like all the time.
Also the Popori grow on you, I hated them too but I rolled myself a raccoon slayer named "Rabies" because it's BETA and who cares, now I want to roll one on release...they are just so silly and I love their movements(at least for slayers).
Plus that tail swaying when they move just makes them feel so much more lively.
I hope you're not saying this is "open world pvp" it is just 2 organized groups facing against each other, this isn't even remotely what anyone who has played DAoC etc would consider open world, ie games that really were about open world PvP.
The vids posted here are shockingly bad and i doubt Tera will be as horrid as these, it's a bad bad advertisement if so.
What do you mean? TERA has FFA OWPvP and you can group up like this and wage a war on another guild if you want, theres no factions, guilds are your factions.
I don't know how this is anything but OWPvP, it's just another form of it.
CURSE THESE PEOPLE FOR HAVING FUN ON A OWPvP SERVER, THEY AREN'T DOING IT RIGHT. THEY SHOULD DO IT THIS WAY OR ELSE IT'S NOT REAL OWPvP!!
What I am saying is let people zerg if they want, organize battles if they want, be chaotic if they want, just seek out fair fights if they want, gank if they want, isn't that OWPvP?
i dont think he is trying to this isn't OWPvP, i think he is trying to say compared to DAoC, open world PvP wasn't organized by two large guilds saying, okay, this saturday we will meet here and beat the heell outa each other for 2 hours, DAoC was more like, "ok guys, lets try and take Mid Relic tomorrow" and you got a massive zerg of 150 to invade mids, then the mids would scream and yell and get everyone on so they would have nearly 100 people on, and at random points they would meet and destroy eachother, whether it be open field, or defense of a castle or tower, IMO this was a staged event, i dont know the first thing of tera, so i won't diss on it it, but if you can only wage wars against other guilds, it doesnt feel as "open world" as what we've played, not as random, just my standpoint though.
On a side note, you said guilds are your factions yeah? so if you have guild A and guild B fighting, theoretically, could smaller guilds C+D group up, or work together, and attack the fight between A-B?
The "Youtube Pro": Someone who watches video's on said subject, and obviously has a full understanding of what is being said about such subject.

lol never group pvp have you? in group pvp a lancer job is to lock down healer, a good lancer can kill or make healing next to impossible for healers. Try group pvping with and without a healer and see how important lancer are.
On a side note, you said guilds are your factions yeah? so if you have guild A and guild B fighting, theoretically, could smaller guilds C+D group up, or work together, and attack the fight between A-B?
Yes, but expect to get retaliated. When you reach the point where you do more organised pvp rather than random encounters, then who you attack is quite important. Back in L2 we had entire guilds + certain individuals denied access to levelling areas for months due to them taking sides with an enemy alliance of guilds. They were also KOS of course. That as you can understand forced them to band together and join the opposite alliance, which made for even more fun PvP the following weeks.

Now that is freaking cool, see im used to DAoC warfare, 3 factions, and at times it really seemed 2 realms were working together, especially when the third realm held more relics (gave a bonus to their realms magic dps OR melle DPS, each realm had 2, take theirs you get bonus) so it really made for some hellacious times, but with this, it isnt limited to how many "sides" can get in on a fight? Well you sir just possible got another MMO fan interested in TERA, now i HAVE to look into it i was hoping GW2 WvWvW would be enough for my tastes as far as PvP goes, now i have another option as well.
The "Youtube Pro": Someone who watches video's on said subject, and obviously has a full understanding of what is being said about such subject.
I believe up to 3 guilds can declare war on one guild, at least that is how it is in Korea. As a guild you cannot refuse a challenge but you can raise the "white flag of defeat" and back out of it.
