For me it's not that at all, I simply like the feeling it creates knowing you can be attacked anywhere at anytime. So in a sense it's not that I want to gank, it's that I want to be ganked at times.

I definitely enjoy the extra dynamic and intensity that comes with going about your pve business while some same level enemies are nearby also going about theirs.  The possibility of getting ambushed or performing an ambush gets the adrenaline pumping.  I do hate, however, when it turns into a game of logging off and switching to main characters to come in and stomp down a helpless level 24 character.  Then that person does the same; then guild members are called in, and the snowballing commences.  I understand some players like even this aspect, just not me.

To that end, I wouldn't mind seeing a completely open world pvp game that utilizes GW2's zone level reduction feature, making it impossible for high levels to totally dominate a lower level character in a given zone.  This would likely make switching to mains irrelevant, and would place the focus back on actual real pvp battles between existing characters in the zone.

I definitely agree about the character switching as then a battle tends to become a pissing match, who has more (insert cap level here) tends to be the end result. As with most things it's really a case of taking the good with the bad. I perfectly understand for some the bad outweighs the good when it comes to open PVP.  I just get sick  (being an open PVP fan) of being lumped into a category of ass-hats. The cuplrits tend to ignore we could do the same with PVE oriented leet dudes as well.

So like he said.....stay in the PvP zones and level there.  Grow up, so to speak, in V8 and around only other PvP'ers.  I'm sure you'll get ganked plenty.

Yeah, that's the funny part people don't seem to quite realize yet.

You can go to V8 and never, ever leave.

You level up, gain skills, get loot, get money...

There is a good mix of PvE type content in the V8 zones...

If you want to play that way, to have that experience of always looking over your shoulder...

    THEN DO IT.

There is a difference, and I never said I couldn't do that, I never said I have a problem with the way GW2 is doing it, so please leave the "they don't get it BS out of this".

When I go to a PVP zone (DAOC as an example) the surprise is gone, people are there to PVP, there's little question whether you're going to run into that nice guy, or that ganker, anyone from an opposing server is going to attack you, this is a completely different experience than traditional open world PVP. Just as DAOC was.

I mean honestly with the "don't get it thing", who's really not getting it the people who think WvW is the same thing as Open FFA pvp or those who know it's way different?

the game have open world pvp  and thats wvw, the point is that they separate the world  of pve so pve player dont complain about pvp on the world so that anet  dont created servers they made wvw an diferent sone of war  mix whit pvpve  so pve player that like to pvp and pvp players can play  toguether.

so yeh anet is being lazy to creted  server and made it that way is not bad at all  but still that can resolve the qq pve from the pk players

    I can respect that, noted.

I guess my point is that you can either find things to do that make the game fun, or play another game.

If you are such a fan of traditional open world PvP as you say, why even post in this thread? You obviously know enough about the game (GW2) to not be biased out of ignorance.

    Exactly my point.

If you like the one that GW2 obviously isn't... what's the point of being here mate?

And here we go, why did I post here? Because I was baited, that's why, the second the OP said anyone arguing with the idea of WVW is just out to gank noobs and have easy PVP fights, any PVPer not like that was baited to reply.

And again when did I say I have a problem or "won't be able to find fun"? I only pointed out a few distinct differences in this thread, I didn't say WvW was no fun and the suxxors...
