Was it just misinformation?

This topic is misleading and drowns out the other issues that could be nitpicked about the game.  Based on the original post, it should be referring to NPC interaction rather than just misinformation.  It's not very specific.

I honestly do see that the placement of NPCs and activities don't quite seem to be what I wanted in a living city yet, in this case more activity and movement rather than simply patrolling NPCs, but this is beta, not the actual game.  There is no reason to judge this game's city based on the current status.

The ambient sounds captured on some videos it is nice, but a couple of the more recent videos (can't remember specifics, but the ones dated around March 22-28) have mentioned there are certain areas that don't have as much of the background sounds yet, so that's probably part of all the tweaking that's taking place behind the scenes.  Just keep in mind that we're missing at least two major cities as well, so this is not the part of the game that the developers are tightening down and showcasing at the moment.  A few of the videos show an active pop-up feedback dialogue on completion of an event, which includes a rating button and comments from the testers.  This further indicates that the current testing is focusing on tightening down the event system.

The PvE events and personal story  don't seem to be quite complete yet, but you can judge that yourself in the videos http://www.arena.net/blog/link-round-up-cbt3-edition  They certainly do look interesting and have more variety without having to depend on having to actively form a group just to stay alive, unlike some of the Warhammer Online events I recall doing in the past when released.  You have more options for getting away and moving in and out of combat when needed.

The purpose of the current status of the game isn't to judge the finer details of the game.  It is important, and should be mentioned, but doesn't need to have a focus group over the matter.  I'm sure there's some one out there filtering comments to bring out concerns that are noted in forums that can be improved.  There should be more focus on what looks blatantly wrong in your eyes when you want to play a game.  Save fully detailed reviews of problems noted for release.

A comparison between a beta version of a game versus a released game is unfair.  Though if you have similar atmosphere between the beta version of a game and a fully released game, there's a lot more room for improvement before release when you regard the beta'ing game.

If you want your disatisfaction voiced, write comments or directly to the beta testing editors that post those videos linked directly by Arenanet.  http://www.arena.net/blog/link-round-up-cbt3-edition  This will most likely be the gateway to getting your concern addressed.  They can put together questions and comments or at least point out any issues that you find in the game as well as their perspective on it.  They also have a better perspective on improvements on the feel of the game.  Find someone whose video commentary agrees with your thoughts.

    Have lots of fun.

I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.

I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.

P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

    How so?

Most NPCs are scripted and there are heaps of people walking around town, including children. The only static people tend to be vendors.

I personally dont need city ambience (I prefer the company of other players anyway), but the attention to detail in the world and its inhabitants was the first thing that jumped out at me with GW2.

Sorry what video is that? i am talking about two videos posted on this very website and i didn't see heap of people walking around.

True, but keep in mind that this is beta. I'de wait and see if those promises unfold.
