Define "more fun" and "faster"
Because I dont see how someone leveling 10% faster than you can possibly ruin your game. If your a PvPer, you will still equal, and in PvE the difference doesnt matter at all.

Considering PvP in GW2 is always sidekicked up to max level, and PvE is based on where you are, not what level you are, good luck having "more fun", "faster". You just don't understand the game, which is fine.

I heard that a sidekicked lvl 80 is not as good in WvW as a true 80 tho.

you wont find it because just like the leaked cash shop items the info is under NDA. But I am shocked you didn't already know this since it's been pretty common knowledge since the cash shop leak escapade went nuts. The keys drop, the chests drop the buffs and stuff. Also who knows what is there next beta event since they removed a lot from the shop before the end of the weekend according to leaks.
ugg and sorry for triple post.. I wish this site collapsed posts like other sites
I don't really follow leaks, so I wouldn't know, any of these leaks could be something that's gone two days later or completely different, especially when there's no release date set and they're testing that very segment of the game.

I would like to see how anyone can logically come to the conclusion that chests which can only be unlocked by buying keys from the cash shop isnt Pay 2 win.
Cuz i dont think anyone can and if they do claim its not Pay 2 win I think they are being willfully ignorant and/or intellectually dishonest.
So lets hear it. Defend this obvious pay 2 win scam.
Cause u can find the Keys for them as well just low Droprate.

My "problem"....my work ethic. I believe you should work/earn what you get.Just like in RL.Buying your way through the game ...when you are asking me to pay money to have the experience or seeing others have money bought advantages.I just cannot accept it. Not going to argue...not going to debate...not going to quibble over semantics. Just not going to accept it.
Fortunately we don't know exactly wnat we're talking about yet...though all I keep hearing like the OP, makes me look for alternatives...or walk away from the genre.

You don't have the gear that true 80's have, but they'll never be able to one-shot you ala WoW or overpower you like in WAR, you'll still be a challenge to them so long as your skills in dodging and skill use are up to par. The poster I responded to assumes that he or she will be able to blaze through everything and thus have more fun. To begin with, it's an opinion that reaching goals quicker is "more fun". Secondly, if "True 80's" (their actual level can be seen near their names) were that much more powerful, they would all stick together and make WvW pointless for lower levels.

That's an excellent way of putting it. In WvW, 80's and "TRUE" 80's will still have a generally even footing. If you consider getting to level 80 10% faster so you may have the most miniscule of gear advantages over someone else "P2W", there's no real reasoning with your opinion. Grasping straws is apparently a better hobby than playing MMOs.

The fact is, the GW2 cash shop has pay2win elements (RvRvR boosts) as well as annoying elements (mystic keys, lots of gold grinds: repair, influence, squad leader ability, etc). It is possible to attempt to ignore this but then you will be gimped in RvRvR and you will be grinding gold a lot (again, for inluence, repair, squad leader ability, possibly mystic keys, etc).
I'd like to remind all claiming this this isn't pay2win that, prior to GW2 implementing this type of cash shop, pretty much everybody considered the Korean MMOs pay2win despite the fact most do not have cash shop exclusive "swords of pwnage." Building grind into the game mechanics and forcing you to either grind or pay cash is the new F2P trend. Of course Anet is taking this to a whole new level by actually charging you $60 for it.
GW2 "built from the ground up with microtransactions in mind" 1) Cash->Gems->Gold->Influence->WvWvWBoosts = PAY2WIN 2) Mystic Chests = Crass in-game cash shop advertisements

Again, negligible. They can be purchased for in-game gold just like anything else in the CS, and they do NOT give significant advantages. If all 80's are essentially equal - which can be seen in GW2 beta footage - you won't lose because someone had a 10% crafting buff, you'll lose because you're not as good at playing your class as they are. It sounds cliche, but it's true. No gear you can make is going to make you that much stronger in WvW that you'll be hacking mofos down left and right with impunity. You're just proving my point that you don't understand the game.

holy cow you don't read a damned thing and spout the same crap all the time. There are non WvWvW benefits in the cash shop, the keys drop in game.. the boosts drop fromt he chests IN GAME in fact even the res thing couldnt be used in PVP.

Yeah, I've seen it. Seen all of it lol. The thought that any of this stuff is P2W has never really crossed my mind. Gotta apologize, as I kinda missed the point in your first post, no sleep the last few days busy, busy, busy, but yeah I agree with that too, even though it may have seemed I did before, I was talking about something else, more or less injecting other posts from this thread into that. lol.

Still not a single valid response with a definitive answer on why this isnt Pay 2 win. Just 12 pages of opinions and fanboy rants but nothing concrete and factual.

And I can say holy cow you don't read a damned thing and spout the same crap all the time as well. There are most definately WvWvW benefits in the cash shop (cash->gems->gold->influence->RvRvR boosts), the keys drop slower than you find chests, and there are many many many gold sinks, and more added every day, to ensure gold is very important in the game.

There can't be a definitive answer because nobody knows what will be in the final cash shop. Your thread topic is purely speculation because we don't know that the keys can only be bought in the store.

They did give you a valid response, the keys are dropped in the world.
any many have stated nothiing in the cash shop gives you better gear or weapons.
All Cash shop items are cosmetic or just items that save time.
Getting to level 80 quicker is not pay2win. IMO its pay to lose, because why buy a game and not enjoy all the fun things you do while you level and getting to understand the world and your character
To me it seems like no answer will suffice to you other then people agreeing that the CS makes players like gods and are immortal.
Heres a very simple answer, Everything in the cash shop can by earned with ingame gold, players who buy gems with real cash , sell them for ingame gold, with gems you can buy anything you want
And ontop of that, the cash-shop is pretty much completely worthless to players who are no visual-"whores"
I dont care about pets, I dont care about coloring your armor, I dont care about extra social-gear. But hey that does not mean you guys should do so aswell Imagine poor ArenaNet earning nothing from the CashShop? Booboo
Weeee...!
You people have to get it into your mind: If you do not buy things from cash-shops, they disappear. But ofc you can still complain on every new MMO-title that comes out, if you cant keep your hands off the shop.
If between 500 people from each server, someone doesnt have the cash shop boost to influence, someone is doing a poor job. pay to win means that buying the thing gives you a distinct (DISTINCT) advantage over your opponent.
Items in a shop have nothing to do with it. If everyone has access to the same items at ar easonable price it wont matter. Pay to win comes into play when you can only afford those items reasonably by paying, else it would take you days f game time to get thm.
For WvW items, you're talking 10 percent boosts that only one person in a guildf can have active at one time out of 500 people per 4 maps of the server. That's 2000 people that GW2 is betting that one of them will have it, thus nullifying the small 10 percent advantage.
However, everyone has their own perception, so if you don't like it, don't play it. I am sure that there is a company that will invest in a game and do not expect to have any cash revenue developed in do time.

10-15% LoL. ...that's the pay-for bonus range for just about everything. They're all capped @ 15%
Guess what. In Gw1, the cheapest XP scrolls gave 125%-175% bonus. Lightbringer gave 300%
In DiabloII, you could get CHARMS that gave 25% magicfind bonuses.
The bonus consummables in Gw2 are a joke compared to other RPG's

Player A Buys keys > Opens Chests > Gets some form of loot.
Player B Finds keys > Opens Chests > Gets some form of loot.
Player A Buys keys > sells them for gold > has more monies.
Player B Finds keys > sells them for gold OR gems > has more monies and gems.
Looks like the 'free' players have the advantage here, not the buyers...
