I've reserved my first 24 hour gaming marathon for GW2. Gonna gather some energy drinks, some hot pockets, some pizza, plenty of beer, and do nothing but GW2 for 24 hours when the beta starts!

Beauty of an idea. I was thinking of rigging my chair into a compu-toilet, ut I'm pretty sure the wife wouldn't appreciate that when she got home from the in-laws.
Let me make sense of this. You want to get absolutely NO sleep at all until the Beta starts. Now.. call me crazy but.. wouldn't you want to be well rested all the way up to the beta so you can stay up for your marathon?

What the OP probably means is that because he is so excited, he won't be able to get any sleep until the beta, figuratively speaking.
But yeah, I'm gonna get as much sleep as humanly possible before the beta, due to my 24 hour marathon plan. And to the gentleman previously about a "compu--toilet" i've considered the idea of having a handy bedpan nearby...but I think thats overdoing it, I think I can take bathroom breaks XD
But yeah, my friend and I are gonna be doing a 24 hour marathon of GW2 beta. The vast majority of the time will probably be in the Mists. If people speak up, i might create a thread on here and gather up a "squad" for the Mists too.

My core guild members are planning on 15-20 hour gaming periods for all 3 days of the beta. :P 4 hours of sleep is more then enough I can recoup after the event. ^_^
The title, if not referencing beastie boys, should read "no sleep during beta!!"
no need they announced it on facebook. we should be getting download information / instructions within 7 days time. That would most likely be via email.
-6 days and counting!!! Personally I downloaded a different game that has open beta this weekend to appease me over the weekend but the questing system in it killed me after 8 levels... So back to no game to play until Friday.
So I was watching some GW2 videos(again) and my wife says."Buy the game". And I said but... but... but I've done this before and been disappointed, and I don't want to waste our money and she says..."Buy the game or you don't get supper". Sooooooooooo

In the past I have seen hype from marketing of games and got caught pre ordering a game that ended up disappointing such as so many experienced with Swotor and my personal experience with Tera... Hyped but such a disappointment, although most press do not hype TERA but the developers sure as heck do.
This is the first time I've seen "hype" from people who have actually played the game, hands on experiences, documented video reviews. There are also video's of people who have had said hands on experiences with the game and have some things in which they thought needed improvement but overall are super excited for the game.
With all the available reviews out that are not pushed by Anet but by people who have tested the game either at conventions or during press beta I can confidently say I know exactly what I pre purchased and exactly what I'm expecting. I also know from those same press people reviewing other games such as Tera and Swotor as well as RIFT that My idea of what I like about a game is very similar to what they too like about a game, GW2 is going to blow my mind.
If I was relying on marketing hype to pre purchase this then I'd be nervous but since I've done enough research, outsourced hands on excitement has put my mind at ease!!!

Thing is about the hype is.. well, what is the hype? EVERYTHING I am looking foward to in this game has been shown. I have seen people doing the WvW, doing the dynamic events, showing off the classes, watching someone skillfully dodge, and seen combos. We are now just counting down to being able to play what has been shown for ourselves (except for those that already have played all that, you I envy).
I haven't been this excited since Wrath of the Lich King expansion in WoW.
Hopefully GW2 lives up better to the hype than SWTOR did
To be fair Swotor had no press hands on videos prior to launch. So its Hype was based on Marketing hype not what we have at all, we have hands on excitement hype which is totally different. but yes I do agree because we've been burned by so many games for so many years its about time someone puts out what they are promising.
-2 days 20+ hours to go... Netflix is worn out, LoL is filled with raging childminded players... Stock pile is ready for the weekend... Lets getr done!!!

Beta Weekend for Guild Wars 2 in - 3 days!!!
After Testing out for the first time Tera and Swotor this past weekend I'm extremely excited now even more so for this weekends Beta Event!
