Finally, I will be able to sit in a cantina and have a game of Pazaak with a few friends.
I'm looking forward to going exploring with my spaceship.
Personally , I'm going to resub so I can participate on those 100 vs 100 pvp battles on Illum and other places where open , large scale ,objective based pvp in the galactic war .
who cares about swtor anymore? they had the chance to grab a big piece of the online gaming comunity and they lost it with poor implementation and bad decisions.

now is too late.. everyone moved forward.
It is a bit the curse of our days. Back when WoW was new, 1 or maybe 2 Triple AAA titles launched every year. Now it is at least several attempts plus a dozen minor ones. I doubt *any* MMO does get some time to get better. I mean, even WOW at launch was considerably flawed. (And NO, I am not going to the WOW debate in general, just relative to it's audience.) Today a MMO hardly has 2-3 months to get things done right.
Alas, with SWTOR the case is, that even with a year time, I assume it would not work, since the flaws are deeply in the most basic design decisions, as I see it.

Mostly I too long for the "Good Old Days" of gaming. But I despise the fantasy setting and tend to cut sci-fi a bit of slack, so SW:ToR is fine enough for me to play.
P2P games get lazy with content, as they have your money
F2P games they can not get lazy, as without content to purchase means no money for them.
Also expect loads of downtime over the weekend and following week or so, as they fix the bugs that 1.2 introduce to the game. If they did the update yesterday, any bugs / problems would have been fixed by the weekend.
I just love all the ¨gw2 fanboys hate¨. 1.2 is an awesome update, just huge, lots of people was wating for this, also is the ranked warzone preseaon or competitive PvP and with the latest changes to the pvp items and gear it will be all about teamwork and player skill and not gear. And then the 1.3 soon after this update, where we will have more competitive pvp with tournaments, etc. The opvp is dead atm, but it will be back this year. I wonder what all the gw2 fanboys will do if after this month beta we´ll find that the game is not that great after all?.

There is only one person in this thread that mentioned anything even about GW2. Grats on being the second.
Lot of misplaced angst going on with you.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

1.2 is preaching to the choir, it won't bring many people back and then only for a month for most of those.
1.2 isn't really that awesome, one of the worst changes is stimpacks... you can only use ONE stimpack during combat and use it again out of combat, so while levelling up on classes that doesn't have a self heal will need a healing companion (even 2V-R8 once slotted up) when fighting elites or end of act 1/2/3 class stories. The final one-eyed boss on Voss is hard for classes without a self heal (even worse for a merc without an interrupt), that change alone will be a game changer in pve, and it'll be pretty bad in Eterny Vault and Karraga's Palace as well where you're forced to fight an NPC without outside help, try fighting a 20K health juggernaut NPC that hits like a truck in EV.

Your point? That somehow translates to a bunch of GW2 fanboy hate and the other things he babbled on about?

Ummm...what? I didn't see anything in the 1.2 features mentioning this. Nor in 1.3. Is this just wishful thinking on your part or am I missing something?

Nice. It should haold me over for a bit.

The timing for this is perfect.
I'm about to hit 50, haven't really played any FP and OP yet. Just started PVPing.
Great timing on my part.

It's an estimated 8 hour patch followed by an 'up to 1Gb' download.
Your sub might run out before you get chance to try it!
