I took a cue from xenpt's thread about headsets to make this thread. I was pleasantly surprised at how positive people were in his thread, and of the great advice that was given. I'm also looking for a gaming mouse to buy before GW2 releases to replace my 7 dollar shit one.
So what is the best gaming mouse out there? which one's do all of you prefer?
Also, I'm on a budget, so please keep your suggestions on gaming mouses under 150 dollars, preferably under 100 dollars though.

Love my Naga!
Naga is good, though I prefer my G700.
"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"
~Lord George Gordon Byron
I'm loving my Logitech G500. I used to have a Razer mouse but due to having issues with it and my Razer headset, I'll stick to Logitech from now on. Look up the G500 (wired) and the G600 (wireless). Both feel great, not bulky and have plenty of options for gaming.
Do you want a mouse with a lot of different buttons? Because if you want a decent mouse but without a gazillion buttons, you can't go wrong with an MX518. My 518 has lasted me years, it's virtually indestructable. It'll probably survive a nuclear war. And it's relatively cheap. You can probably find one for $40 or so.
im somewhat passionate about the subject after being let down by Razer mice (their mechanical keyboard is awesome though). Razer mice are not build to last. theyre cheaply made. I bought the Deathadder last year, and after 3 months of moderate use, the scroll wheel stopped working. i was looking into buying the Naga, but read from many people that it breaks down after about a year of use or less.
the Logitech G9x is by far one of the best mice on the market. check out the stellar user reviews. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104261
you can adjust the weight, DPI and covers. it has 9 programmable buttons (the wheel bends left and right efforlessly), and feels amazing in the hand. based on all the Newegg reviews, it has lasted people 2+ years.
Yeah, having a mouse with a lot of buttons would be nice. I've been playing my computer games with a 3 button, with mouse wheel mouse. It's criminal I know, I've been having to press key's for my abilities!! It's dreadful!
Pretty much the only choice..........
Razer Naga or Razer Hex or be like me and get both :P
Had my Naga for a couple of years now and thing works as good as the day I got it.
Hex I haven't had long but it's excellent as well.
High DPI and 12 programable keys at your thumbs disposal.
Nothing else out there compares to these. Nothing even remotely close.
Edited to Add: I do recomend getting the performance pads for the Naga from the Razer Store. Much better than the stock ones, slides so smooth. Works great without them, but works even better with them.
My mx518 is perfect for me also. Great feel and has all the buttons i need.
I can't help you a ton, but one I DON"T recommend is the CM Storm Sentinel. Although comfortable in my hand, my computer randomly seems to not recognize it on boot up, and it doesn't do this with any other mouse. I program all the settings, and it never remembers them. keybindings never stick, and I've never found a way to get several of the buttons to work at all. POS in my opinion.
I did however, just pick up the Razer Nostromo. Although not a mouse, its a keypad with thumb joystick. Total joy for us left handers who are otherwise useless. Now I'm looking for a mouse to go with it as well
the Naga is a terrible, cheap mouse. Razer stuff will break down in less than a year.
Those razer's are pretty ridiculous, I'm not sure If that excess of buttons for the thumb is necessary. Although I can choose whether I want to use them or not also. They are also pretty reasonably priced. Something like that I would expect to be rather pricey but they aren't.
Somebody brought up in a previous post though that Razer's aren't made that well? Anybody who has used Razer mouses before have anything to say with that?
look on Newegg bud. user reviews are best reviews.
Corsair M90 actually REPLACED my Naga. Didn't think it would be possible but it did.
G700 - Wireless + Wired + Good software + Plenty of buttons
Naga - I believe now has a wireless/wired version. All razor software is garbage from my experience. Has the MOST buttons... But are you really going to use and REMEMBER how to press 12 different buttons with just your thumb on that small mouse?
G700 has 4 on the side, and three extra on the top next to your index finger. 7 buttons is plenty for any MMO i've played combined with 1-4, Q, E, R, F, Z, X... bla bla bla... Not to mention using SHIFT + mouse buttons works wonders.
In the end, i'd go with logitech just because the software they make has always been good. All the extra buttons in the world won't matter if the software doesn't support them properly. My Logitech keyboards (for example) are the ONLY gaming keyboards i've ever had that actually have a quality volume control.
Microsoft keyboard has delayed volume (turn knob and wait for volume to actually adjust). Same with my last (and only) razor keyboard. Delayed volume controls suck!
If you want to have some fun grab a Razer Hydra lol. I have a Razer Onza and a Razer Hydra when I do PC gaming on my TV.
Mouse and keyboard are for when I'm at my desk.

I love this thing
I have had a Razer Anansi keyboard and a Naga mouse for a while now, and I can say they are by far the best products I have used in a long time. No issues with anything, their drivers and software are easy to use. I will keep using Razer products after these.
The best gaming mouse for you is one that works right (of which there are many; if it's wired and laser, it probably qualifies), feels comfortable to use (a matter of opinion), and has the right number of buttons where you want them (also a matter of opinion). I like my $15 mouse better than some much more expensive ones that I've used.
Depends, if your the type that takes care of your electronics they last. My 16 year old has had her Naga for a year and a half and it's still in great shape. Wife got hers the same time I got mine (Right around 2 years ago) and they work great.
deathadder 3g (old version) is probably the best mouse
if you cant your hands on that just get the deathadder 3.5g black edition
Will have to agree with this. One of the reasons the Naga is so perfect for me is because I use the Wolfking Timberwolf Keyboard.
Simple design but perfect key placement for me, the naga gives me the numberpad my Wolfking is missing.
This way I can have the 0-9 keys mapped and usable and the Num 0-9 keys mapped and usable without having to take my hands off of or away from any important keys.
It's a shame you can't play test a mouse >_>
I got my Naga quite a while ago and it's still working flawlessly.
Took about 4 hours of playing before my thumb learned the muscle memory for where I wanted it to be at a specific time but once I got hold of it it felt natural and now I feel nerfed without it.
Actually some you can :P
Bestbuy still carries some of the gaming mouses. Don't like it, return it. I tried out that WoW gaming mouse and found it to be a pile of dung, returned it and got my Naga lol.
I went through 2 razer nagas and both crapped out on me from playing eq2 and rift. I replaced them with a cyborg rat 7. It's a real solid mouse. Took some gettng used to due to its high dpi. "Have it about 3 months now and it still runs like it did from the box.
The buttons are a gimmick, in my opinion. They don't make you a better gamer nor are they more convenient than using the keyboard. They come in handy if you have a whole crap load of keybinds and macros but for the most part, are not needed. Plus more buttons = more stuff that can break.
Personally, when choosing a mouse the most important aspects are comfort and durability and of course dpi.
