Tera isn't going to bring down wow! But a game doesn't have to, to be fun for it's fans. People just need to get over the fact that 200-500k players is not an OMG FAIL GAME!! /quit
In a lot of ways it's better for a game to be somewhat forgotton. It keeps the trolls away. They tend to like playing to a bigger audience.
every beta i played was packed with people. so far everyone i ask seems to likes it. there is a huge community of Spaniards, all getting ready to play once the game gets released.
They game has pleanty of fans. It'll be somewhat of a niche game (from what I've seen), but it'll have a strong number of people playing it.
- Basically, I don't think you'll be scrolling through the server list, but out of the servers available they'll have a healthy population for a lil while.
As Tera EU is not region locked compare to Tera NA, i expect it to be more populated than NA version. SEA population will be making their way into Tera EU, but the latency is killing this game for me

250k players would be a HUGE success for TERA.
Considering NA Tera is launching with only 10 servers i guess the actual numbers will be smaller.

the number of servers mean nothing. since they have a capacity to host alot of people in.
i think is smart to keep the amount of servers low, so later on , you avoid having to merge, or having to wait for server transfers due to low populations.
The game is probably not going to get the same amount of numbers as Guild Wars 2 or SWTOR, but I highly doubt that the game will fail in Europe, nor will it fail here in NA. I know it's not the game for everyone, but those who like it, loves the game. And also the developers and support staff owns, I actually have a genuine desire to support them. The game is not even out yet, and yet the developers have reworked some dungeons, added additional content to the game, like new stories, and doesn’t seem like they are going to stop anytime soon. I and most of my close friends have bought yearly subs to the game, and happy about it :P. Plus, since the game doesn't have much hype, the fear of getting disappointed is minimalized.

Fail game is a fail game, subs. is not a good indicator for this. TERA need to get some proper end-game going, preferably with the political system and PvP involved. If not it will suffer the same fate as in Korea where people played it for 1-2 months and then left because there was nothing fun left to do.
I decided not to buy in the end, it was a bit of a coin toss. If En Masse were running things I'd have probablly gone the other way. Frogster was definately a tick in he against column.

If it failed in Korea, it might be successful here in North America :P. Koreans in Korea, has a totally different kind of mindset compared to us.

How many concurrent players per server they decide on is up in the air but I hear they can have over 20k per server. Whether they have that many is up to debate right now but its kinda easy to get a rough estimate, all you have to do is open the guild list window in-game and count all the members for each guild + add a % of players that are not in a guild.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
I will been playing TERA in 1st month (between the L2 group content).
But if they dont implement a nice political system related to wars and territory control i suspect it will be the only month i play it.
Played one beta and like it the "basic" things: Lore, graphics, animations, combat and world. This basic things might give some fun during a few weeks but then its over. Its necessary more MMO elements and imo the political system will define if this game is for a long term or just a short one (talking about me ofc).

They won't
What are you talking about? the political system is all about territory control. And wars will come from guilds and the rivalries from owning the best lands.
Its already in the Na client but only for end game.

Its my real hope about this game, we really need a "working" political system.
And about this matter we only will see how its going to be after release and in close future patchs/updates. Like i say befor, i like the "game part", now i just need to like the "mmo part" and it can be my new home

I don't see why it would be dead o.o from what i hear their Beta is doing well so i don't think so.
I sincerely hope not, considering I've pre-ordered already.

The game needs more advertising. No one knows about it outside people who visit gaming forums like this one.
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

Its not going to have the numbers that wow does but its a different type of game really.
It will have a decent population and wont die any time soon..

The CBT's are doing well EME is a ver ygod company listenng to their fans all the time
Tera breaks the korean grindfest stigma..more appealing to the western audience
i say EME cause frogster are actually copy paste everything they do for europe wich is all good for me..better this thatn destroying this game
russia, armenia, kurdistan, kajakstan or wtf in overall all the countries that screw the mmo community with the hackings, cheats, glitch etc etc
