 That's right!

For any of you that have said about a releasing game, "Man, I wish they would have a free trial so I can check it out before buying", here is your chance:

 

North America:


Open Event

  • Begins: Friday, April 20 at 12:00 PM Pacific

  • Ends: Monday, April 23 at 11:59 PM Pacific

Details

  • Characters per Account: 1 per Server

  • Maximum Level: 32

 


To start your TERA adventure:

1. Create your En Masse account at https://account.enmasse.com.

2. Use the “Enter Code” feature on the Account Overview page to type in your your game code: TERABETA

3. Download TERA from the Account Overview page and install.

4. Play TERA!

 


The download is about 45G so keep that in mind.


 


 


 Open Beta characters will not be wiped for launch and even if you don't buy it right away your characters are kept for a certain time period after release on May 1st.  Open Beta is a slightly different client build than the previous CBTs so even if you played those test it might be worth another look.


 

 

Europe:

All servers for our open beta will open on: Thursday, 19th of April at 3 pm CEST / GMT +2 and they will stay open until midnight CEST / GMT +2 on Tuesday, 24th of April 2012.



 


* TERA EU has slightly different details on how Open Beta works.  They will be wiping characters after Open Beta but they will also be hosting an Open Beta on the 19th.  TERA EU Beta Schedule

 To answer that without playing the game itself videos would be the next best thing.  YouTube has a ton of videos of BAMs, dungeons and character creation setups.

    45 gigs?  Impressive.

    I am with this guy...

    I played for two of the beta weekends and I cannot stomach having to do the same dreaded quests and areas for each character I create over and over. The game definitely has the lure to get you in and play but it does get old very quick.

    This game will stick around in the MMO world but I predict it goes F2P before a year goes by...

    Same here. I have deleted 2 invites after playing it early on.

     I don't do the side quests either because unlike most MMOs you don't have to do the quests to progress in TERA.  The main story quest is recommended however for lore and rewards purposes.

    I didn't enjoy the classes, but I'll give it a whirl again. I want to do at least one instance. 

    Played - M59, EQOA, EQ, EQ2, PS, SWG[Favorite], DAoC, UO, RS, MXO, CoH/CoV, TR, FFXI, FoM, WoW, Eve, Rift, SWTOR, TSW.
    Playing - PS2, AoW, GW2

    Good point Bain, I didn't make that clear hehe. I was speaking more to those that hadn't preordered but you are absolutly correct and I can't wait!

    I'm excited and all but TERA might only be a pass over game until GW2 releases.  Speaking on subcription basis if the PvP isn't up to par I won't last past the first month... I'm not into PvE raiding games unfortunately and in saying that I am not saying TERA is bad.  It's just not for me to be doing PvE all the time.

     

    I will say though I am glad for the 24 hour head start.  Allows me to get out of the newbie area and away from the rush on Friday.

    I bought the game so clearly I am excited.  I was merely being honest about my intentions when it comes to long-term playability for me personally.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding, that part wasn't meant toward you but toward the people that were making the i delete my e-mail post. Sorry ijust posted that w/o thinking (still running on 2hr of sleep here 5-7am XD) Sorry.

    Also one thing i found troubling in mmorpgs is people can't tell time = seriously how many time do we have to go through that 12pm means noon not mightnight o.-

    TERA is the most PvP-oriented game to come out since Lineage 2. I'm not really sure what you're talking about.

    Open world PvP is the most fun I've ever had in a game and is what I'm looking forward to most in Tera. There's nothing more fun that farming for gear and all of a sudden being in a huge battle with other players.
