No offence guys but except for handful of posters here on GW2 forums i have no intentions of even getting any where close to mmorpg.com members in GW2. i don't want the same obnoxious attitude to ruin the game. So chances are i will stay away..far away.
Waiting patiently for beta to start.
This was about the closest to what I feel as well....well except for the no offense part
I'll be there with my guild - looks like probably 300 or so of us...but don't be worrying...we're Oldtimers...we can't pvp ;P
I love the name Cat Shop, and I like the idea of using our forum names or something similar.
And if this is something that continued into the live game, people could meet up with other MMORPGers or avoid them as they wish.
I think working in the framework of an existing community is a fine idea.

Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit."

Think it will be interesting to see how different people are in a different setting. Since it is just a week-end beta, and you can be in mulitible guilds, it isnt a big deal.
Sounds like fun. I've never really tried pvp that much; more into exploring and gazing at the scenery witha cold beer in hand, but I'm down to trying it out and meeting up with other members. Can't wait till the 27th. Come on beta client)
Yeah I think this is a great idea. I was going to message people on MMORPG to meet up with them in Beta, didn't realize there was a thread going on about it. I'll try to keep my online name as my character name so everybody will know who I am.
Actually looking foward to meeting some people in the forums in-game. The people who like me, and the people who don't even. I know some people aren't too fond of me, but that's ok, we're all fans of GW2 and GW2 is a place where we can put our differences aside and totally beta test the f*ck out of this awsome game.

Useful.
No offense ;-)
Yes truly, what this guy said. How very UN-obnoxious of you...
good luck to you all trying to get this started. I hope it works out well. Im just surprised there are this many people without guilds to go into beta with.
EDIT: Might I suggest a healthy vetting process. Maybe dependent on peoples posting history.

I can only speak for myself but every since the tail end of BC in WoW I quit my casual but fun loving guild I played with all the way back in DAoC onto CoH and then onto WoW for the eveil that is Raid Progression. Raiding as you may know by some of my previous posts is the reason why (IMO) that MMO's turned to shit. That ever growing sense of progression at the expense of anything else has destroyed more friendships then I dare to think of......anyhow I digress. I have been pretty much guild hoping through various means and ways since that guild split up the week our raid leader quit when Arthas opened up in WotLK.
I would be estatic to find a long term sociable, yet very mature, fun loving guild that are as estatic about the possibilities of GW2 as I am. Currently I have 2 other friends I continue to game with from that last guild we were in, the remnants of a failed MMO raiding experience (although I will say it gave me 2 close friends). The problem is one of them is still in love with SWTOR and the other is waiting for me to tell him how good GW2 is, even though we all know its gonna rock. I feel he will eventually join me where ever I go but alas as it stands currently I have no guild to call home and am looking for some new BFF's.
Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
Just so it's perfectly clear, this isn't really meant to be a guild - not one taken seriously anyway. The only reason I'll be setting up the guild is for the beta to make it easier for us all to communicate
Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.
Not meant to be a guild.........but you never know lol. I may do it. Depending on where my friends roll but ya I'm thinking this idea will be good. This way we can finally beat the hell out of whomever has been trying us personally on these forums lolol.

Absolutely not. I wouldn't join it if it was a guild.
So..
Should we call you Guild Master or can we just call you "Boss"...?

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

to people who already will be in different guilds you do have the option of joining multiple guilds so give this one a go :P
same ign as here
Updated the original post with some information regarding the meet up
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
This sounds fun, but I am still going with the notion of creating an Engineer, and then handing everyone from this forum a Grenade with no pin in it.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I wonder what would happen if there was an MMORPG.com guild. And we pwned! Thatd be awesome. But I think unlikely lol.
Sweet. Now we gotta think of guild ranks. I want mine to be "Fanboi"

I am game for this. Not quite sure what I will run though. Hmm bring back the necro/mes

I think we should all post our IGN here once we got in to the right server and has created a character.
That way it makes it easier for DeaconX to invite us.
Thank you boss! =]
