Yeah im not a twitter or facebook person my self, so im not sure the numbers reflect so well.. SWTOR im sure had the followers becuase starwars has been around before video games where even in peoples homes. Guild Wars 2, well the first one set allot of bars, im sure the second one will break them all. I dont think Twitter or Facebook follower numbers have anything to do with how good a game will be or success it will have. People follow youtube posters, but they dont buy their music all the time. Just my two bits.

lets say only half the people who bought gw1 buy gw2
and the game attracts no new players whatsoever - which is unlikely, i can see ex warhammer peopel for instance being all over gw2
Star WArs is one of the largest IPs in the world, I was the only one out of 20 of my friends who bought Star Wars, so I'm pretty sure that's a more inflated number than Guild Wars, which as a fanbase of more gamer fans.
I actually find it sadder that the game has half as many subscribers than they do facebook fans.
Lucas Arts and Bioware also did a ton of marketing and bought ads on facebook, that pretty much said if you like Star wars like me.

2 million "Starwars" fans SWTOR is only popular because there are so many "STARWARS" fans. I am a starwars fan but the game sucks if you ask me.
AMD Phenum II x4 3.6Ghz 975 black edition

Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
I wonder if we'll see any TV spots prior to release.

Thats still THREE MILLION boxes sold.
It means that SW:TOR has more social-network zombies where as GW 2 does not. I mean, I honestly HATE facebook and absolutely dispise it.
I'm not 100% certain so correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't SWTOR have some beta key competitions on their facebook and stuff?
That kinda things draws in a huge amount of likes.. GW2 hasn't done that at all.

When did Facebook start signifying a games success? If it did, please take me to a time when it didn't.
