So I believe you OP. I also believe you should turn off your computer for a week and buy your GF some flowers and take her out.

Either way i guess 4 days isn't a bad turn around for a full restore.

Grats on getting your character restored. I wasn't a fan of this game, but more power to those who find what they like.

Well the e-mail he posted said the 20th.   So he got it today.  So if he had this problem on Monday its taken 3 days.  Maybe 4.

Not 3 hours.   Your link is a problem he posted on the 14th, and today is when he got the e-mail response which was on the 20th.  Maybe Im missing something?

I even apologized.  This just gets weirder and weirder.  image

The date on the email changes when you log in, I did not just recieve it 30 minutes ago. I recieved it 2-3 hours after i made the post on the bioware site tbqh.

As you can see they responsed to my concern in 10 minutes on the forum. It took them 3 hours to restore my toon. Very good customer service by any measure!

I have Yahoo mail too.  No it does not.  The date is when you recieved the e mail.  I just checked.  You recieved that mail today on the 20th.  Period.  I just confirmed with my own e-mail.

That date is the date you recieved the e-mail.  You posted this problem on the site on Monday.  Today was Friday.

Perhaps Im not understanding you or missing something.  Whether it took 3 hours or 3-4 days the fact you got your toon back is fair service.  So regardless I'll give you that.

How could anyone not be embarassed admitting to their girlfriend messing with their online game because she's mad that they play so much?

    Look, now it says 11:15.

Maybe you upgraded or something weird like that.  I wont argue with you.

Regardless, did this happen on Monday then?  Im guessing it did.   Or did you wait?

Anyways take care of your girl.  One defence Ive had is saying, " Well you're watching TV.  Its kind of like that.  Would you prefer I read a book?  Is that not taboo?  What is an acceptable way to spend my time to you?  If you'd like to hang out, lets do so, but please dont delete my crap.  I wouldnt tear the pages out of a book you've been reading.  "

Its a problem sometimes that non gaming gals see games as a childish and stupid way to spend time and they loath you for it.  My wife used to be the same until she realized I could be watching TV, working out, reading a book, and its all the same thing.  Whats the difference?  Meantime, watch a movie with her or hang with her for a bit every day.  It helps tons.

You'll miss her if she's gone and Swtor wont fill it.  None of my business, so again I apologize.  Just speaking from experience.

get a clue.. dump the game and keep the girl.

  • MonorojoMonorojo Member UncommonPosts: 411

That is pretty solid advice and I appreciate it. I definently see my girl always eyeing me when i play games and post on forums like this. She totally gives me crap for it but i gotta be who I am ya know? I tried to hide my habits from her originally but if i am going to live with this girl the rest of my life, I don't want to have to front the entire time.

i got her a laptop so she can surf whatever she wants while i am on the desktop and I jump on her from time to time to show her some love. I think it works out. Sometimes chicks are just crazy.

Nah he shouldnt have to do that.   Getting a girl doesnt mean your gaming life is over.  It shouldnt.  I wouldnt be with a girl that told me I couldnt read books because I do it too much.

Just work it out.  Explain, be cool even if she's not.  It works.  There are work arounds for this.  Might take time, but Im still married.  About 6 years ago she was all over me about it.  These days I play and we're happy as hell.  She chills on her Ukalyle and plays it, and I do the PC thing some, and we hang out a good deal.  Its just a hobby.  And people have to have them or we go insane.

In that case, perhaps cartman can give you some advise on how to handle those situations when your lady goes a bit crazy:

In WoW after guildies got hacked and stole parts of the guild bank, GMs restored both characters and guild bank contents in a couple of hours after a ticket. Half a day at most.

She shoulda deleted your account and destroyed your ToR key. I'm sure she'll get it right next time.

  • zytinzytin Member UncommonPosts: 202

If only it were trolling.  Instead, it's someone who loves SWTOR so much that he has a need to post anything good that happens on MMORPG.com to defend the game from everyone who thinks it's a crap game, is willing to lose female companionship over it and doesn't find it embarrassing that he is admitting that he'd rather exchange real life treasures for virtual loot.

I don't think people are backpedlding so much as...feeling sorry for him.

My experience with customer service is that I submitted a ticket regarding a bug and money and it was never answered or responded to for the 20 days I played it before I canceled my sub and uninstalled the game.

Then again, in regards to his e-mail, it's not showing any of the email info, just the body of the text, so he doesn'ta ctually prove that it happened in 3 hours.

Again I'm just curious why I don't see you guys posting in this same tone against those posting negatively about the game.  Maybe you aren't a fan? Fine doesn't mean you need to be a troll either.

Ive already explained to you that if I hadnt seem him posting Positive threads AFTER a negative thread was posted on the exact same topic I would have said nothing.  Ive seen that several times out of him.   What a coincidence!  People having horrible customer service issues had them on the exact same day this guy supposedly had a wonderful one.  Uh huh.

If I thought it were a legit thread, which I dont, I would have said nothing.  I dont buy it.  And yea, Im calling on it.  No I dont expect him to admit to it.

    Also Troll?   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2y8Sx4B2Sk

So it really boils down to since your experiences don't match his he is not to be believed and also must be trolled about being a liar?

I hate to have to tell you but if you actually read the posts that troll this game many of us do just what this poster did.  the difference is posters like myself tend to respond in the negative thread as opposed to making a new one but someow this guy should have to prove his point just because he made a thread about his issue as opposed to wasting time debating trolls?

Why is it so hard to believe that there would actually be someone out there who doesn't have the same misgivings as you or the other naysayers?  Is TOR somehow the one thing in the entire universe you guys can't see that maybe some people don't agree with your opinion on or don't have the same experiences as you?

    Welcome to Real Life!

People actually do this in Real Life! it doesn't have to be a Video Game. Pick your poison and walla!

I'd like to see proof that everyone thinks this game is crap as you just stated.

MMORPGs aren't easy, You're just too PRO!

Thank you for being a voice of reason or at least pointing out that there is in fact another side that can be considered.  People talk like there is only one woman for every man out there.  and let's not forget this isn't his WIFE we are talking about but some girl he is dating.

If he let it get to the point that this incident happened it would lead me to think maybe he thinks TOR is more fullfilling than his relationship with his girl.  Maybe he'll meet a girl in game who spends as much time playing TOR as he does.

At any rate I think it's just too easy for people to troll this guy because of how they feel about TOR and to that I can only say maybe you guys should avoid topics you know offer praise to the game since you don't agree with the point being made, much like I tend to do with the umpteen something troll posts that appear here everyday.
