Happy troll? Now can you please leave me alone and stop stalking me?

It is amazing I am the troll when I am one of the few people on this board that does not troll Bioware.

I await your apology btw. Not that I will accept it, but you owe me one that is for sure.

Okay I'll buy it.  They restored your character.  I admit that is impressive as well considering I didnt even know an mmorpg could do that.   And 3 hours is not long at all especially for that.  Thus?  I apologize.

On a side note, not that you'll take advice from me, but you may SERIOUSLY want to tone down the Swtor playing unless that girlfriend of yours means nothing to you.   My best friend nows a gal at his church who divorced her husband over the same thing (which I think is a stupid reason for a divorce but whatever).    Either try to get her involved into playing with you or at least playing the game too (which Ive done with my wife before = understanding ) or make more time for her in general.  Girls get jealous of other girls, and they get even more jealous of mmos.  Sorry, just the way it is.

Not trying to troll you.  I dont troll.  I just type my thoughts.   Anyways fair deal.   If they really did restore your character in only 3 hours?  Id be happy too.  That is good customer service so I apologize and stand corrected.

You believe that?  3 hours?    No way.   Restoring characters is generally not so easy.   I've known people to be hacked and characters  deleted and it takes weeks to do a manual restore.   Not 3 hours.

As you can see they responsed to my concern in 10 minutes on the forum. It took them 3 hours to restore my toon. Very good customer service by any measure!

I have Yahoo mail too.  No it does not.  The date is when you recieved the e mail.  I just checked.  You recieved that mail today on the 20th.  Period.  I just confirmed with my own e-mail.

That date is the date you recieved the e-mail.  You posted this problem on the site on Monday.  Today was Friday.

Perhaps Im not understanding you or missing something.  Whether it took 3 hours or 3-4 days the fact you got your toon back is fair service.  So regardless I'll give you that.

Days I believe.   Hours to get your account restored, I believe.   It took Guild Wars 39 minutes from e-mail to response to get my GW1 account password back.   But that wasn't a charactert restore and I had all the information to my account, I just couldn't reset the password because I no longer used Mindspring as my email.

So I proved everything in the follow-up email and they reset my PW and email.   That's easy.

Hours to restore a deleted toon.  No.   You have to drag those out of a database by hand.

So what he is saying is not that unbelievable.

If it's marketing we're talking about, in a specialised forum based environment, black marketing would prove to be a far more effective method, if resources weren't too much of a factor. So, who are you again?

The point is on a forum like this there are going to be a number of shrills, it just so happens that negative comments have more impact on people's choices than possitive ones, so common sense says if you want more people to play your game you don't big it up, you bad mouth the competition.

Nope.  You denigrate the crtics and spread postive stories.   Any shots to other games are just in passing.   You goal is to 'look above it' while making anyone with legitimate criticisms of your operations 'paranoid' while ostracising them as trolls.  You'd be surprised how many one-day suspensions I've gotten for just pointing out flaws in the game.   Not even posts addressed at someone.     It's about social manipulation and squelchin dissent.   Not advertising or standing on your merits.

Like when bad restauraunts give themselves 5-star reviews online.   Then you take your wife to Mother's Day Brunch and have one of the worst meals of your life...   Case in point, Bistro 215, Nashville, TN -- now closed due to crap food and no customers, yet had a bunch of 5-star 'just so story' reviews...  Imagine that...

Look at the distribution of the reviews on the chart.   An abnormal # of 4's and 5's.  NO 3's.   And a bunch of 1's and 2's.    And, considering how the restauraunt closed (in the premium Green Hills area in Nashville)...   The 1's and 2's had it right.    This was a 'no fail' location if your food was decent.   But it wasn't even as good as Applebee's...

Anyway, that's viral marketing.   Lying through your teeth.   With games it includes labeling people as 'trolls' and 'haters' when they criticize the game.   Regardless of the emotional content of their posts.

    No, you're wrong

Actually what that story proves is how un-important internet reviews and polls are. So anyone here  that thinks they are influencing people's opnions on a mass scale, good or bad, are kidding themselves.

Fair enough, but let me ask you, did you read through his post and if so do you know of a restaurant in Nashville? You see I don't even live in the US, but I know if I goto Nashville there is a restaurant there called Bistro 215 that I'm most likely not going to visit.

You could argue that it's a reminance of the primitve brain picking berries, it doesn't need to know how good each of the other berries tasted it just needs to know which ones are poisonous and made us sick. Consciously or subconcsiously our brains sort and store, it is also noted that for bad information more detailed information is retained such as the Bistro 215 in Nashville that I'll probably remember for next few years for absolutely no reason at all.

It's an interesting subject, just not really one I'm going to have here, shoot down the pub I'll get the drinks in.

You almost had me OP. What gave you away is when you said you had a girlfriend.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

This, none of what we do matters, games stand or fall on their merits, not whether the members of MMORPG.com love or hate it.

Just in time for me to finish the daily event today (which is releated to the world event) and get the final piece in the gear set for the event!

Awesome job again BIOWARE! You guys rock!

It's good to hear about companies that do things right.  Now you just need to get your girl friend into games or replace her.  I'm lucky, my wife has always been into games (one of the reasons I fell in love with her).
