Hi, I'm a kid that loves Warcraft. I've been playing Warcraft III for two years. When I heard of World of Warcraft I was skeptical since it had an online fee. I was a new to MMos, but now I want it more than anything else! What do you think of MMo fees? I think 13-15 bucks a month is a lot since they've sold about a million copies already.

cheap??? not unless you have a job....15 bucks a month X 12 months a year... 180 dollars a year... and lets say you plan on playing it for 5 years ... 900 bucks is quite a bit of change to throw around.. just play guild wars and everythign will be ok
$15 a month is less than going to the movies for one night. Look at it this way:
You're a fan of the movies, right? Around here, it costs $8 to get in. Oh of course, you won't go alone, taking a date? $16 easy. Now, I know you don't wanna be hungry while you're watching the movie, do you? $5+ for popcorn. Tasty...salty, though. Salt makes me kinda thirsty. Gotta get a coke. Another $4. That's $25 right there.
I'd rather spend $15 a month than $25 every week. Cut a lawn and you can play for a month.

Umm, sorry, but if you think $12.50 or $15 a month is too rich for your blood then you should probably sell your computer and put the money to a more needy form of use, because you're obviously too poor to own a computer and internet fees as well. It really isn't that much, boys and girls, even if you're twelve years old. Go out and mow your neighbors' front lawns for cash, wash some cars, work a paper route, put up a lemonade stand, or maybe even work something out with your parents for some green. Just do something a quit whining about having to pay for an ongoing service.
$10 was better for someone like me.
It is relatively cheap, yet, compare to a game I can play for 0$, it is expensive. Compare to TV, it is expensive. Considering you need a computer and an internet line(high speed) as well...I dont go to the movies except for exceptions, it is not in my regular budget. I didnt go see Constantine and I wont go see more then ''exceptionnal'' movies, so I will see the LoTR and Star Wars, beside that maybe to please someone, nothing that I want to go for myself.
But most importantly, if they keep me playing, it would be acceptable, if I reach the top and maxed the game within the free trial period, then they say goodbye to the precious monthly fees and I end up with a game that I cant even play, which in turn make me unhappy at the company.
As long as you have the ''content/endgame'' to keep me interested(aka not raiding or PvP), it is acceptable, howeber $15 is heavy and stretching the line, it is like 3 hours(register as almost half a day) of work every month just to play a game I already buyed(while $10 register as more then 1 hour), there is no way I will pay that unless I play it for a LOT. Civilisation and single RPGs cost 0$ to replay.
I will not maintain more then 1 subscription fees, and the SoE all pass will always be judge as ''unecessary extra expenses'' for me. I only take 1 cable plan, 1 internet access, I do the same with MMORPGs, and if I maintain 1, it is because I play it a LOT.
IMO, the monthly fees should apply only as long as you have ''content'' to earn, once you earn it(reach max level), they should just give it free in the hope to keep me interested, because they will need ALL edges they can use to keep me playing and coming back with the next expensions.

The fees are necessary and fair. 15$ a month is nothing (especially with the dollar being next to worthless). Most MMO players spend several hours per week playing so it comes down to a few cents per hour. This is probably the cheapest fun you can have now days.
Signature? I don't need no steeeenking signature!1!1!1
I keep saying, someone maximum levels should have a FREE subscription. If the game have nothing for me, it should at least be free if you want to see me ingame. Everytime I reach the max in a game, I quit, there is just no way I will pay $10 or more per month for a game I reach the max(LDoN was an exception that confirm that rule with me, yet LDoN was a new Everquest and I didnt know my alternate that well, but once that alternate reach 65, I just quit, like I always do, so LDoN was more a new game then an expension).
And for the ''cheapest fun'' comment, you are blind guys. Going outdoor is free. I dont mind those fees, as long as they come with a HEAVY interest from me. If the game cant hold my interest, putting a fee is suicide for them anyway.

Actually 15 a month is outrageous for this game. The GM support is almost null. Takes more than a day for them to respond. The lag is horrid. They havn't fixed any lag in IF. There is no high-end content. There is no honor system for PvP. I am paying 15 bucks a month to wait in a line to actually get in a server. What a load of crap. Good thing I sold my account for an undisclosed amount of money.

first of all these fees are necessairy for maintaince and stuff like that. if they would make wow free of monthly fees than the game would seriously decrease in qualility.
en another thing 15 dollar isn't that many for a game like world of warcraft. besides it's not like a dollar is worth anything. LONG LIVE EUROPE

15 bucks is nothing. if you think about it if you are actually gonna play its very very cheap and for this game its worth that 15 bucks.

$15/mnth is less than a night out at the movies for 2 people, for an entire month of entertainment. Never really understood why people complained over such paltry fees.
I respect others opinions, but I am firm in my beliefs. If I am maxed, they wont get $1 until they add new stuff for me to do, it mean I cancel account or it is free, it is up to them.
When I reach the ''TOP'', the game is over, I am done with it, I understand some peoples feel everything just start, but for me, it is over, there is nothing left to do(unless gear acquisition is interesting, forget it if raiding).
I may sound harsh, but their fees, their personnal to pay, their expenses, those are none of my concerns as a customer. Is the product worth paying $15 per month? If I am maxed, the answer is no. If they rather have me leave then make the game free until they add stuff, it is fine with me, but getting someone to return is always harder when they stop completely, not to mention others players may appreciate or not a maxed character in game, to ask them stuff, yet, I really dont mind, cancelling fees and stopping to play is a fine solution for me.

I never understood the issue folks have with online fees. They are really, really cheap. $15 per month is the cost of going to 1 movie, really, and instead of 90 minutes you get unlimited amount of time for that $15. I mean, seriously, it is 50 cents per day. I think compared to other things I can get for 50 cents on any given day, it is not only good value, it's great value.
If you played 600 hours in one month to max out ur character its your own fault that ur paying for nothing. You maxed out your character at 2 cents an hour, that practically is for free. You think that companies should give special benifits to ppl that have no life and use up the most bandwith and gobble up all the content as fast as they can? Do you call up your cable company and ask them to stop billing you when you cant find anything to watch on t.v? Cancel your account all u want but they still get their money anyways, why do u think u pay more per one month sections then u do for multiple month sections.
I could go out tomorrow and get myself a top of the range Merc. Couldn't afford to run it though so I won't.
Company's don't pluck these fees out of the air. What they charge is based on a carefuly put together business plan.
If you can't afford to pay what an online game charges then don't play. It's really not that complicated.
