No, its not. This is another reason why debate like this is pointless, because people will twist things around to try to make their points. TERA is older than Rift at this point.
I say that as its the first game the company has made, and ya guesss its not new since out in Korea for over a year but really came out before rift o.o? wow i don't pay attention to p2p game till Tera so idk. But my point was its a brand new IP, action combat in open world has never been done before (will action combat to this lvl of polish, since i guess there was AOC) and the programing for it must have been hell (my god the colison boxes and stuff lol) and lacking funding since its a break new company as well you can't expect a perfect game.
I have based my issues with the game on the fact I have played every limited CB event both EU and NA.
I was not intending to play TERA as I plan to play GW2 and TSW, however I did get a free copy of the game, so I have decided I will play it at least through my free 30 days and give it an open and honest chance.
As things sit right now many of my early objections to the game still hold true and I still believe the game has a very small shelf life considering some of the other titles to release this year.
That being said, I played Tera OB and actually had a pretty good time this weekend.
I started with a sorcerer on a pvp server, at level 22 I realized the pvp server was just too immature, childish, and disqusting to make a home there.
I switched to the roleplay server and made a warrior, at 24 I realized what I know roleplay to be as an oldschool gamer has really changed, once again I found the server to be immature, childish, and this time confusing to make a home there.
I rerolled again on a regular pve server, this time a mystic, at 20 after having played a warrior before I realized how crazy slow mystics level and so mothballed the mystic and switched pve servers to try again.
This last time I rolled an archer, got into a great guild, and capped to 32, managed to get all my crafts except leatherworking over 150, and geared out in blues and gold, and left with over 200 guild tokens in the bank from BAT farming.
Honestly had a really fun time even with all the rerolling looking for the right home.
Now to the negatives, I did a lot of exploring above the areas we get to at level 32-36 , and some of the game is unfinished it just is.
I worry the political, war system just isnt even in game yet, will be rushed, and or just bad. However until I get to test it I really can not review it.
Terra is another standard MMO with standard elements, and pretty grahpics. Its twist is its targeting system which works well, but it isnt enough to keep me playing it.
Am I going to break into detail into why? No, wait for a review to tell you if you havent played the open beta. If you have, and think im wrong your either in denial, a fanboy, or new to the genre. Im not saying it isnt fun, im saying its really nothing different or groundbreaking like people were saying it was gonna be. Didnt live up to its own hype.

First off I have spoken out strongly against TERA
