You guys are focused on the style. What I'm seeing with the GW2 screenshots is lots of unfinished meshes and lots of jagged edges. It really looks like WoW from those screenshots in the first page.
Right you are a pedofile? This is better than Gw2 seriously, ok tera have better graphics suport direrctx 10 and 11, but the art of Gw2 is the best i ever see in a mmo and it s beta these graphics will be improved for sure....
lol no but I do play an elin. Unfortunately, there's no way you can stand without seeing the panties of the female characters in TERA.
But I'm not sure where you're getting your info from that the GW2 graphics will be improved for sure.

What you're not understanding is that it was the FIRST Beta for many people to try out the game, and not just the press people or companies. The games engine is NOT fully optimized for everyones PC system yet so, not everyone can take high resolution screenshots. Plus you didn't play GW2, if you did you wouldn't be saying the things you're saying about GW2 or Tera. They are two completely different games, game play wise and graphic wise.

I think it's fairly obvious if your looking for support the GW2 forums aren't the best place to look. I and many others prefer the style and graphics of GW2 better here, hence why we are here. If you like TERA graphics better you are likely to find those that agree with you on the TERA forums. OP posted some nice screens, you went off topic about how TERA looks better then posted a screenshot that show TERA looked worse.
I do agree with you though, the TERA screen shot has a lot in common with WoW. Bright cartoonish colors, cartoonish style, even the houses look like there from Toon Ville with upgraded graphics. Or I guess your saying GW2 looks like WoW, if thats the case then we simply have to disagree.
In any case GW2 currently is using the CPU and not fully utilizing the GPU. Once this is corrected there should be a great deal of improvement over the already good graphics

It is better than WoW, you just can't really tell from the screenshots. Those pics only look slightly better than WoW, but in game you just get so much atmosphere, detail and depth, and a lot of things really do have a painterly style.
It's not on the cutting edge of graphics, but the scope is incredible; ANet really succeeded in crafting a world, much like Blizz did when they made WoW.
Tera, might have some technical 1-ups on GW2, but Tera looks plasticy and that artistic style is a bit boring.
Errmm.. those stumpy little Tera houses actually look more like the houses in Stormwind than the tall slender ones in GW2. And you can play as little puppy men. Cartoonish graphics. Not that I mind cartoonish graphics, but Tera looks far more cutesy than GW2.

^ while tera's graphics are pretty fantastic GW2 blows it away with atmosphere. The zones feel so alive and its just amazing how they are put together. TERA is very pretty to look at but above that no atmosphere at least to me. I enjoy the anime style of TERA very much but the overall effect of a virtual world I feel is much much better represented in GW2 rather than TERA.
oh and like said in post above me DX10 and the extra effects from that as well as extra AA support besides just FXAA weren't even in this build of beta.. I can't wait to see how good this game will look at max once avaialble.
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
I love that spot in LA so much. Spent probably about an hour there just watching the clouds roll in.
I did the same and fell asleep at my K/Board so soothing indeed and then when I woke up did a swan dive off and the hair stood up on the back of my neck as I was only lvl 3 though the impact would kill be it didnt. Was total fun.
If my mem servse me well there were 28/28 points of interest on this map and the last was a bitch to get too, but managed it all the same found an underground sewer to it.
I also love the water effect on your screen when you surface and get out of water... Many things this gane does well, I like how you can go where you please at any level and then get owned and die for being nosey too
I'm curious and too lazy to look it up - Which graphic engine is ANet using for GW2? Also, what graphical settings was the OP on? From the screen shots in the OP (which I'm taking into account that these first weekends aren't going to have the finished polish), it looks very similar to Age of Conan. I mean, it currently looks as good as AoC does.
As to the people that are making comparisons to TERA, please stop. TERA is a released game that has been given a very nice coat of polish on it's graphics. To make a comparison to an unfinished product is like comparing apples to rhubarb...
Most people on this thread are right in different ways. Tera has higher definition textures and higher polygon count on object models. To some people that makes it look a lot better than GW2.
GW2 has a lot more object models on the screen at once, more deformed terrain, smoother character animations, and a more realistic art style and color saturation.

Yep. Atmosphere, liveliness.
Seriously, Tera-man, buy your copy of the game (or do a collection with 20 of your friends and put $2 each and purchase a copy of the game), walk the streets of Divinity's Reach and come back to apologize immediately on this thread.
Well, the problem is that you will have to wait for the next beta event. But the entire world feels handcrafted and the result is incredibly atmospheric. It's not all about the number of polygons.
Also, as mentioned in their dev notes, this version had high-res textures disabled, the engine was optimized for CPU only and used Dx9 only.

Anyone can tell me where the client stored the screens? i have few funny stuff
Awwwwww.. if I had a daughter, I know I would give her Tera for her birthday.
it should be in the GW2 folder in My Documents. least that's where mine is.
edit: the beauty of the game just can't be captured by a screenshot. when ur playing, it looks so much better and i can't tell why or how.

I can't stop looking at her face, its terrible, like she just got her wisdom teeth pulled and is looking at her death coming at her from off screen.
Also you lose all credability when you say this:
Looks like this:

There are a lot more, but the art direction in the game is glorious.
Well that makes sense. What doesn't make sense is everyone saying "Oh wow that's beautiful" when it's bad IMO.

Or, maybe, even with medium textures and Dx9, it is beautiful. Which it is. But I guess it's a personal opinion.

Exactly, Tera can boast all the polygons it wants, it looks like a kid's game compared to these.
This isn't much better:
