Silly last 3 days of mmorpg.com are silly, first TESO is a WOW clone when it sounds nothing like WOW, and now GW2 is a WOW clone when it sounds and looks nothing like WOW.

And because of that, Arenanet knows if you try the game you may not like it, thats the reason of prepurchasing, thats the reason why they did not offer free trial for GW1 (only after a few years) and probable they will not offer for GW2.

And for peoples who start with "I never played WoW" my advice is that you should because, I never realized how good is WoW until i played some other games. Not playing WoW do not make your opinion stronger, its actually a sign of no experience.

there may be truth in this.  i am a WOW fan and i do think GW2 is a great game.

i kid though mostly, while i truly do like a lot of things WOW has to offer, the OP is simply being foolish.  anyone who makes a statement like "And to be clear for the last time: GW2 IS FULL INSTANCED LIKE GW1."  obviously has not educated themselves on the game.

did you experience any of those dungeons by yourself?

I think they're very epic and hard to do... and it's 5 dungeons which we've been able to test in beta, it's not like this game only has 5 dungeons to offer XD

do you read any of those zillions of quest walls of texts ? I know I stopped after 5-6 levels? So that was years ago

it all comes down to this 1 dungeon pattern since every other dungeon is basically the same crap with different looks...

it's not zerging because it wouldn't get you too far with that strategy... It requires more strategy than any other pvp I've seen so far... It's scale is unmatchable as well...

really? clear objectives? You mean zerg fest towards the end boss in AV or zerg fest towards the capture points in AB or zerg fest towards the enemy flag in WG? I forgot to mention the Wintergrasp zerg with vehicles towards the enemy base.

So, you're saying wow elfs consist out of leafs and trees (which is basically how they're born) ?

Well, to be honest, the only simillarity between them is the hight... Asuras look more like some mices with big roundy ears with pointy end and they are the smartest race in GW universe, they have been there since GW1... You didn't have a problem with them then, since you didn't even know GW1 exists?

It's just a matter of your taste and what you like... If you like more of cartoonish way your characters are made then WOW style is your best pick, but if you prefer a bit more realistic look it's GW2  (since we're comparing the 2)... When you create character in GW2 you're deciding about his past, about his future and his presence, defining his story and his personality (if he's aggressive, charming or stuff like that), you're even defining his family, warband and things like that which affect your characters story... To me, this sounds like GW2 characters have way more personality than you can make in WOW...

GW2 isn't trying to challenge any of the games above... Posts like this and people like you are the ones who try to challange them against GW2 and they fail... Name one game which gave a free trial within few months or even a year after it's release date (besides the SWTOR)... Not even your precious WOW offered that...

Iknow a lot of people would buy and play GW2 if it was sub based, the cash shop would be out of the game then and it would attract alot of players simply because it's something new and fresh with intentions of being different and trying something new... But without a sub, they're aiming for people who don't want to play a sub based games, the ones who want to play it casually and even those who would even buy the subs (so HC players)... It's audience is way bigger just because of this...  It's a common thing for game devs to offer beta for those who pre-purchase nowadays... TERA did it, SWTOR did it, even WOW does it with their new expansions (offering beta to anyone who is subbed and has matched the criteria)... Some other indie games do it as well but it would be really long post then.

I've played wow ever since Vanilla and kept going since CATA (and then I quit when I saw how unsatisfied I am with the direction in which this game is heading for years now)... If you think WOW is the best mmorpg ever made, then I've got news for you, you have no experience in mmorpgs... I'm not trying to troll or anything, it's a fact. WoW just took some good stuff from other mmorpgs and kinda combined it together with being lucky of the time they published the game. The most players here who can say the most bad things about wow are those who actually played the game, and it's most likely what'll happen, like now. :P

This is not true.

The gnome models are from release(7 years ago), the new goblin models are from Cataclys(2 years ago)... both of them are super. Asura is just meh.. poor try to copy whats good.
