Wow! Rather a harsh critique of a game still only in beta compared to a game that has been retail for years.

I beta tested WoW and it was pretty limited to what you were able to do in beta compared to retail release.

I think the same is going to hold true with GW2.

I played WoW for a while.    It was ugly and since it's been cloned so many times...   No big deal at all.

    Oh rly.

was not only about GW2....I find this in every OBT I play..

    end of arguments?

Again, GW2 is not open beta, if you pay you can play, which is not open at all.

Its not open, but you are wrong, you dont have to pay to get into beta.

I still havent pre-purchased and got into the last beta weekend from the previous beta signup.

    - loads of epic dungeons

    - loads of epic raids

    - scenarios (coming in MoP)

    PVP

    GW2 PVP:

    - WwWwW = lame zerg action worst that Warhammer

    - 5 man pvp instance

    WoW PVP:

    - battlegrounds with clear objectives

    - world pvp zones like WG or TB and who knows what comes in MoP with siege weapons

    - arenas

    - world pvp

    So more:

Sylvari = poor copy of WoW elfs, really lame made

Asura = poor try to make something fun like WoW gnomes or goblins.

All GW2 chars are generic and lifeless. All WoW chars are full of personality and damn nice made animations and everything.

So before GW2 try to challenge WoW, they should first challenge TERA, Rift, Lotro who are actually much much better that what GW2 offers. In all terms.

Oh, yeah, GW2 have no monthly fee. Imagine if would have a monthly fee, how many of you would play it??? Think about it... And because of that, Arenanet knows if you try the game you may not like it, thats the reason of prepurchasing, thats the reason why they did not offer free trial for GW1 (only after a few years) and probable they will not offer for GW2.

And for peoples who start with "I never played WoW" my advice is that you should because, I never realized how good is WoW until i played some other games. Not playing WoW do not make your opinion stronger, its actually a sign of no experience.

This chick actually has page after page of negative ,flame posts.  It would also seem she is very adament that she was not going to be playing and hasnt played GW2 so all of this "info" she has is what shes read, seen, etc on the web. This was 100% flamebait post from a fan of wow.

Seem like the meaning of WoW clone is synonym for Themepark MMO, which GW2 is.

There is no true definition of a themepark MMO... same goes for Sanbox. And most games are somehwere in the middle. Why does humankind wants to put everything in the right box. Can't they understand all these games have their own identity?

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
