I have 2 cards, how's that not SLI? Crossfire doesn't suck, its just that dev are too lazy to implement it. Now thanks to that lazyness I will be getting twice less performance than I would have otherwise.
Maybe it Crossfire worked until the current build where some minor issue broke the support for it? And that it will be fixed by the 11th? As stated elsewhere in this thread, AoC supports crossfire and uses nearly the same engine, so the chance of it NOT being supported by launch is nearly non-existant.
Well that was a bit odd just heard the chime for download must have left it on DX11,pressed start then got an error message saying DX11 or some technical crash stuff was a bit quick so not sure.
Was just about to find my games directory with TSW,then screen went black took a while but then the HD kicked in and wallah the options menu popped up not as smooth as GW2 but we got there in the end !!
Ok so I downloaded the client, installed it, patched it and expected to see a nice login window like GW2. Obviously, I didnt expect to login till the 11th which is fine.
I chose the DX11 client and got an error saying file is missing and it crashed my computer.. I read that DX11 client is not included which again is a little weird but nevertheless pretty self-explanatory
Finally, I chose "dx9 mode". It ran, gave me a debug window (to send error report to Funcom) saying i'm "out of memory" (even though I have top of the line pc with 12gb of ram and every other game works fine)
The customer service rep told me I would not be able to login till the 11th as the explanation and I told him it's absurd since it will crash all the same on the 11th!!!
Do they even understand the difference between not being able to log in to the account and the whole thing crashing the computer, closing every program in the process?!
I was told to send dxdiag and had a support ticket open.
So what do I do? I paid 250$ for this only to get this... there goes my gamble with Funcom...
look into the 3g switch, the client has issues with 32 bits OSs
There are times when one must ask themselves is it my passion that truly frightens you? Or your own?
you do realize it depends on how the developer has coded the client. It can error out jsut as you describe without being able to talk to the server.. Thought I would educate you...
As I said, the problem was solved once I deactivated Crossfire.
Funny thing AOC never crashed on me even though I always had Crossfire enabled.
So yeah, anyone experiencing issues with the client DEACTIVATE CROSSFIRE and halve your performance...
Sweet, crossfire sucks anyways, should had got SLi anyways.

Just wondering if you were also as upset when GW2 BWE didnt support Crossfire, and suffered severe performance issues first day of BWE until they patched it by Saturday. Yet performance still suffered but the huge latency lag was gone.
OP the beta is not untill the weekend, whos to say the downlaod you did is a build that is 100% ready to go? They will be using a different build to the one currently used in closed beta to they are probally still putting things togeather.
I would think there will be patches updating the build all week, or they will patch it into a fulyl worknig state on the 11th.
Also dont expect every featrue to be in place in a beta..
but one good thing OP you tried to report the bugs and this is exactly what betas are for.. even open beta weekends like this..

He's right though the client crashes often it has issues with 32b OS, there something called the "3g switch" that seems to allow you to bypass the problem, ALSO do not run the client on high graphics your PC can handle it but the server can't try low or medium, low would be best
There are times when one must ask themselves is it my passion that truly frightens you? Or your own?
I know it's not what you want to hear and sometimes the phrase is overused but... it's a beta.
The only thing I can say at the problem is be glad that it was caught in the beta process and not later at release. You already submitted the ticket and reported the issue, they asked for your dxdiag so seems they're looking into it, now you have to play the waiting game, post into forums (specially the oficial ones to see if someone else has the same problems), see if there's a patch between now and when the beta starts that might fix that problem, and hopefully by releast at the latest will be fully fixed.
Remember one thing... betas aren't meant as game demos (even if lots of people and companies themselves use it that way). Betas are the games in an unfinished state, meant to test the game and find bugs and errors like the one you just found, and hopefully fix them before the game is released.
So what do I do? I paid 250$ for this only to get this... there goes my gamble with Funcom...
LoL..
For $250 I was able to get get GW2, Diablo 3 and the TSW.. Could even fit Tera in their for purchase at least but I didn't go in with Tera. Lovely game just not quite what I'm looking for though.
My EVE accounts still active, two of those..
I dig Collectors Edition stuff, but it's something I think I'd rather hold off as a second purchase of the title. If I REALLY enjoy the game. I can show the developers my appreciation at any time, it doesn't have to be right out the gate with a CE, or DE all the time.
Some of them are completely awesome though and I could see how they are hard to pass up for someone who's got the bread to spend like that.
/shrug
PM before you report at least or you could just block.

The $250 is for the grand master package. It includes lifetime subscription. You can purchase it after launch, as was stated by Funcom.
If it adds a little fuel to the fire - I installed the client with no issue.... On a Mac.. In Parallels (Virtulization / Fake Windows 7 / No Official Video Diver Support).. And it fired right up.. As for the game itself - well, we'll see later.
But it is a beta - so some arguments are thrown out the window simply on that. Hell, for all the praise GW2 was getting, there were equal amounts of people that the game didn't run, or ran like shat for. Again, beta.
On top of that, it is Funcom. Not that I am bashing Funcom, but they like to 'do things different' .. and historically, they over-extend on the new features and concepts further than they can properly develop for them. (such as AoC's combat, graphics, etc..) What and how TSW unfolds, we don't know, but unfortunately, people are very quick to be critical and hate Funcom just by the nature of them BEING Funcom. So give it a rest people, wait till your allowed beta time opens, and go from there.
Hey TSW Players http://www.unfair.co/ for Mission guides, Lore Locations and stuff....
Bet the "solution" is to wait for the proper driver and crossfire profile from AMD to support the game....

years ago in the days of Anarchy they didn't support my chipset so I crashed if I played on my frankenstein pc, its the comp that got my old stuff. I don't think it had a video card but the onboard power should have been enough....not a huge fan of FC Customer support
There are times when one must ask themselves is it my passion that truly frightens you? Or your own?
I was told to deactivate Crossfire and now it works fine... though why wouldnt it support the power of 2 cards running at once is beyond me...
I will have to activate/deactivate it whenever I play TSW now... *sigh*
So the proble was yours and you came here to QQ and bash.
And this is why no one should ever read these forums for anything else other than humor.
How is that MY problem when THEY don't support higher performance crossfire mode? You are talking out of your ass.
And I paid 250$ for it so why would I bash it?!
Alot of games dont support crossfire or SLI. And it is your problem for not knowing that you should have tried disabling crossfire before you call them, then come here to bitch and moan about lack of support for a beta that has not even started.
I asked FUNCOM if they will support crossfire and was told there are no plans at the moment. There you go. So much for future support...
Also, I posted this first on the official forum and another gentleman told me he also has the same issue on a SINGLE chip GPU that he wasnt able to resolve with the tech support guy and he told me the error will return to me as well...
I never did the 3gig switch but in case things go back to being screwed Ill try that...
Holy crap this thread is funny. Do you know how many huge game titles aren't released with crossfire support? Skyrim anyone? It's not a standard feature yet. In my opinion funcom did dumbasses a favor by giving them an error when they launch with crossfire on. Otherwise they'd be the ones posting on forums "Why is my fps's so bad? I have a great machine!". My god, if your going to crossfire and sli atleast KNOW how that stuff works. Damnit.

What can men do against such reckless hate?
then I am at a loss, I had to do something called 3gig switch to get mine to work on a 32b os

If it's like Conan, expect the game to be playing a year or so after launch. Welcome to Funcom games.
AMD noob here, do you mean through the Engine Control menu? Asking for when I buy the game at release.
