D3 is NOT a MMO

Why is this even on mmorpg.com this game is not even remotely a MMO. I know why the webpage we all used to love mmorpg.com that covered just that has given into the corporate greed to post there tittles on there page for some green. There are so many titles on this site that are no place near the mmorpg. 

 

 

 

D3 is NOT like the other Diablo games, it is linear. That means you can't deviate from the quests, you go where they want you to go and that is it. It only offers 4 people per instanced based. Just because the game offers match making there starting to categorize them as MMO, That like saying gunbound, starcraft and doom are all MMO. 

 

 

 

The trend and I see it happening already. These facebook style games are starting to make there way here. They are coded in php and CSS flat images that change there location on a grid. Back in the day a MMO was a game you went into and you were playing with 100+ people at any given time. Are our standards slipping this much. The way this is going MMORPG.com don't deserve the respected name.

 

Anyway this D3 tittle, Iv been in its test since the start. I played it like 2 times. It is that bad once you play it for a bit this is one of them tittles that will sit in a box. These game developers are no longer going out on a limb to make something new, they just keep repeating what worked in the past and the younger generation is falling for it. We are the ones that can force them to make better games, Don't settle for this sub par trash.

I'll give you one very good reason why there is a Diablo 3 forum here (as well as a PoE and TL2 forum btw) and it's because there is a large crossover audience.

 

Notice how there are a couple hundred threads in this forum? Yeah, that's because MMO players are interested in this game. 

 

Could you imagine what the rest of the forums (like the pub and general forum) would look like if they didn't have a D3 forum? It would be flooded with D3 posts all the time.  

 

If for no other reason, it is smart to have these forums to keep the site organized and keep us rabid Diablo fans from posting all over the place about it.

Of course it's not an mmo.  It is a fun game though, and even though we are on MMORPG.com it doesn't mean we don't like other kinds of games too.  It is a game that anyone that likes multiplayer games would at least be interested in.  Thats why it's on here.

Nowadays, MMORPG.COM makes a profile for every game and/or browser thing that a) have a level progression b) have a stats and c) is online.

I guess I hadn't noticed. Maybe it's because I don't go around posting in and reading forums of games I have no interest in.

Every game on this site is of interest to the users because anyone interested in MMOs are usually interested in these games as well. It really is that simple, I'm happy it's all in one place.

yeah, it was never mmo it was instanced co-op with town hubs.

guild wars has a centralized hub where hundreds of people gather, i think that qualifies it as an mmo. diablo 3 is a hack and slash rpg with multiplayer options. don't get it twisted.

Oh well then that settles it. Thousands of people will gather in the lobby of D3. I guess it's an mmo by your definition.
