Even if I put everything on very low/off and also in my Catalyst Control Center everything on off, i still get to manage an fps of 10. And when I'm in a space which isn't very crowded it runs fine.

What are your experiences with this?

    Thanks in advance.

I was my understanding that the graphics load was completely on the CPU. If you are having FPS issues it is probably an issue with your CPU. I myself was getting 30+ fps at all times. Game was running very smooth all things considereded.

Once again, I had a lot of problems with choppy frame rates in starter areas, but my sincere hope is that by release, with added GPU support, that I can play this game as smoothly as I would WoW.

Second time around now and I had NO problems other than a tiny bit of lag at one point, which ended quickly, and the overflow server separating parties still....which really ticks me off, but I hope they'll fix it.  Oh....and we had a new mouse that the cursor kept vanishing, but only with that mouse.  It was a Logitech MX 317.  /shrug

All in all I was VERY VERY pleased with how smooth things went, for me anyway, with the stress test.

I'm with you on that.  I had a better FPS rate in TSW's beta than in GW2s.  Really hope they get away from CPU bound graphics, CPU's cost too much and are a pain to upgrade on older PCs.  Vid cards are cheaper and far easier to upgrade within 5 minutes of getting it out of the box.  My vid card is fairly new and should be able to handle anything GW2 can throw at it.  Use it, ANET, it's your only hope hehe.

Ran on ultra with no problems. Also had 2 other computers playing it at the same time, no problem. (My internet is even sub-par)

The only problem that did occur was the 95% stuck loading glitch that plagued us quiet often. We just stuck to doing Dynamic Events since those don't require zoning.

Ran as smooth as my car, so not had any frame rate issues or lag and have not in the previous BWE either... I did not go to start areas though so I'm not sure if i would of had any issues had i been in the city.

I had a flawless experience other than a hiccup trying to make a new toon when the servers first came up

I had some moments of lag. But that was usually around and event area with 20 or so players and then all the extra mobs generated because of that. Then I'd feel some impact on my game.

But I have an old duo core, and I have a 5850, so I dont expect to run the game smoothly in such situations. For the most part I have been astonished with how well the game runs for me, in that I dont usually notice lag at all, except as mentioned in the most crowded of situations, and even then it is still playable. - Im also on a US server playing from europe, so, you might be experiencing something that has less to do with the client, and more to do with your connection, and the way you are travelling to the server, as well as your hardware. But with regards to the hardware, you can go pretty darn low and still be fine.

Honestly, I was expecting something like what the OP describes--it being a stress test after all.  Instead, I was able to log in and do everything I wanted to do without a hiccup!  A few friends and I immediately ran out to Kessex Hills to explore all kinds of content, usually 3-5 levels higher than us and had a blast for 5 hours.  I eventually went back to Divinity's Reach to craft with all the new materials I had gathered and salvaged, gained about 40 points in tailoring while crafting myself a full set of gear--most of which was superior to what I had equipped (everything except the rare heart quest karma rewards)--and dyed it all to my taste.  I then spent about a half hour completing the next two stages of my personal story (got up to about the level 17 part) before rejoining my friends for an hour of structured PvP, where we were able to join up and play with each other and try out our pre-planned specs.

It was the fastest 7 hours of my life!
