Why, in the name of all that is holy, do the developers of sandbox games always have this strange idea that a sandbox game has to be locked in first person view and has to have unrestricted open PvP with full loot?
Personally I think this smells like a scam but even assuming it's legit and further assuming a game actually gets made, they've already shot themselves in the foot with these idiotic "features".
I think that took then 6 weeks to do with the new engine.. and considering that learning how the engine works and so on it look really nice.. according to the devs posts on that video its looking even better now..
Anyway sure there is a lot more to an MMORPG than just looks, but they need to start someplace and if raising $25k helps them get more investment then thats cool..
Ill be donating.. not a lot maybe enough for beta access at some point.. but it does sound a lot like a perfect MMO for me open world pvp with full loot in my eyes is a msut for me to have fun in an MMORPG.. tho I will be pushing tho boat when playing TSW haha but will have to see how long that keeps me playing..
but yeah as people have said at the moment its basically ideas..
Also they seem to be starting up dev blog videos so we might get more detailed information soon..

i think this project is destined for 2 outcomes:
1. Team gets the money, shuts down for "unforeseeable reasons" like most of the other mmo projects do. someone has money to buy themselves a new car, donors are out of money.
2. game miraculously is released, game flops anyways because of its inherent flaws. open world full loot pvp doesnt work. most people like to see their characters, not be stuck in crappy first person view.
my bet is on 1, seeing as i peronally belive kickstarter to be one of the best places to scam people out of money.
These boards are obviously filled with a bunch of carebear whiners and I'm sorry to say that this game is not meant to be played by you guys so just move along.

They should hire you as their marketing director.
I'd love to see a multimedia ad campaign where the brunt of it is "This game was not meant for you because you are a carebear. Please don't play it'.
It might even work! So many rage-players! 'What? I'm not a carebear! I'll prove it by playing this game!'
Its the Dark Souls effect, people don't play it because its a good game, they play it to show ho hardcore they are.
Sub fee = good.
Cash shops = bad.
Fire = bad.
You = Questionalbe judgement.
I hate first person view in any genre of game. Immediate non-starter for me.

Full loot open world PVP games work fine and I have been having a blast in them for years... yes they might not be as popular as WOW and its clones but thats because most people cant get their heads around loosing thier gear as they ahve had it drummed into them that gear is everything so the thought of loosing it to other people makes then rage before even trying the game LOL..
I and many others love this type of game and sure it might not have millions of subs but thats not needed for us to have fun.
Oh and yeah of course Kickstarter is the biggest scam going.. everyone is doing it now...
