I'll wait until I experience it before I start complaining.

What am I looking at here other than a few changes?

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

They redid the trait system, it is now tiered, in a nutshell the complaint seems to be they've removed some choice/freedom.

Oh! lol It's kind of cool the way they try things in a "beta". I'm sure if there are enough complaints they will do something different...kind of like adding key modifiers when people complained about it

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

Wowification? really? reach and reach and grab at straws but! nope it still isn't WoW.

I do see what you're saying, but i think thread title is a little out there.

    Atleast it isn't like trait tiers are...tier 1, skills 1-5, tier 2- 6-9, tier 3, 10-14.

It just makes it so you can't stack all super excellent top tier traits, which i think could work out, or it could not, like other said, try it first, complain after.

The no choice talent trees are one of the main reasons I left wow. I'll have to make sure to complain a lot in beta on this one. :)

I came here expecting pandas, all I saw were a few changes that people wanted (keybinds modifiers) and others to make the game slightly easier to balance (less glass cannon Evicerate Warriors).

not enough people have acess to the game yet to start the wowification

just wait, the game will release.all the cool kid wow players will jump ship on there current mmos and come to it,make there demands to make the game world of warcraft wars 2.and then they'll eather get there way,and complain everyday about being bored, then leave.and the game will tank because even though its free no one wants to play an mmo with no people playing it.or arenanet will tell the wow players to go jump in a lake and they'll design the game they way they want and not give in to them

wow players ruined wow, they ruined star wars.and who knows what other mmos in the future they'll ruin

Just because I am curious, could someone define a "wow player " for me?

  • MahavishnuMahavishnu Member Posts: 336

Guildwars 2 will fail so badly, that it will have to go free to play on release day already!

Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need.

  • DfixDfix Member UncommonPosts: 238

Would that make Guild Wars 2 the ffirst MMO ever made?

So I don't have to buy the game?  Great news! Is it realy going to be free?

  • AnirethAnireth Member UncommonPosts: 940

Mahavishnu: Mad predictions skills ;) Though it's technically not true, given the definition of "F2P"

And "WoW player": Someone who plays WoW. Surprise!

I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high
And then I'll rise with the tide with a lust for life, I'll
Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde
And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore

And are you for or against that? This is a discussion forum btw! No random troll-by, give us reasons! :O

I don't think they did this to make it easier.

  • MavekMavek Member Posts: 138

I must say that I don't like the concept of tiers.  Adds to the whole thing of "well this trait/skill sucks but I need points in it to get what I want".  Definitely upset but skills isn't too much of a big deal, basically after 30 it wont matter.  What is annoying though is traits.  I liked the freedom of selecting any of the traits you wanted from the tree depending of what suited your build and this definitely hinders that.

I don't see anything different about the trait system from the last time I played. I must be missing something by looking at that pic.

Traits = tierception. "First tier 1-6, second tier 1-10, and last tier is 1-12."

The difference is the first tier lets you access traits 1-6 second lets you access 1-10 and third 1-12.  So you can't choose any of the 12 original traits for the first tier.  If the trait you want happens to be trait #11 then you'll have to wait until the third tier to be able to use it.

Since the discussion is basically, this one, and I believe started first, maybe this discussion can be locked before it turns ugly.

Looks like I will lose ground targetting for turrets on my ENG then :(
