Sorry but ive played gw2. all your going to do after you beat the "dynamic quests" is WvWvW. just cause i play Tera doesntmean i dont play every mmo :P [mod edit]
Sorry but you don't "beat" dynamic events, unless you have the mentality of a completion checklist where you just do everything in the game once and go "yep, done it!"
In which case you might as well do the same in WvWvW, "Oh i've defended this supply camp once, that's it for me. Next time it's under attack I won't defend it again, I've done that".
I'll keep repeating dynamic events and you know why? Cause it's fun, and for the first time in an MMO the world feels alive, meaning I care about what happens in it. I want to help that NPC escort supply, I want to help defend those merchants. I like to kick those centaurs and be able to then stroll through the now safe pretty grass fields.
Here's my thing. I see a lot of swtor in this game. My skeptcism stems from playing the competition. I just don't know if the high fantasy setting could draw me. It may even be a turn off. It's been beat to death.
Let's say I make it past the high fantasy setting, because it's done so well, so now I'm leveling. There I run into another turn off. Going from 1-80 just seems pointless. I hate leveling. Eight toons in WoW (high fantasy) Three toons in RIFT (high fantasy), one toon in swtor. I'm sick of it.
Let's say I make it past the setting and the standard leveling, again because setting is done so well plus I can level while pvping. 2 Weeks later I'm at cap. I continue to run battle grounds and WvWvW, much like I have been for the past two weeks. I'm having a good time.
One month rolls by since I've been at cap. Wtf am I supposed to do now. I've ran a couple hundred battle groumds, and spent 40 hours in WvWvW. i'm now asking myself "Are you getting bored."" As soon as that happens it's all down hill from there.
I'm not the type to be filling hearts and chasing DEs. I'm not really the questing type, plus I wouldn't be rewarded with anything meaningful for rerunning DEs. No gear, no AA, just pets and cosmetic gear.
I just don't see how this game could be fun (that's what it's about, not progression) for longer than two months tops.
Quit MMO's, GW2 has more to offer then any other MMO, if thats not enough for you to not get bored, you really should try some other games or even try real life.
Or just enjoy the 2 months and move on, with the knowledge that whenever you want you can return to GW2 because there is no sub.
Sorry OP but pretty much this. MMO's are probably not your thing anymore, you should try another genre of videogames.

Sorry, but this is way too easily a cop out and even wrong: 'oh, you don't like GW2 or don't see the longevity past 2 months, so you must not like MMO's anymore', I mean, seriously?
I intend to play GW2 next to some other MMO's, but I can also see that people can't see the fun or longevity in GW2 to them while still able to enjoy other MMO's: if someone doesn't like fantasy MMO's for example, or they like sandbox gameplay more, or they dislike tab based combat and are waiting for PS2, or they like open seamless worlds and dislike zones for their MMORPG, in all of those examples people can feel lukewarm or indifferent towards GW2 while still being interested in other MMO's that have different styles and mechanics.

I agree that people can have various taste in MMOs, but I do think GW2 has one major advantage so far as people of varying interest levels playing it.
It's easier to go in and out of, and cheaper too.
So the people who want to play it a lot, can play it a lot, while people who want to play it just a bit can, and still get their money's worth without having to worry about cancelling a sub...
... and if a friend says 'Hey, come visit me in GW2', there's no hassle involved.
The convenience of the B2P pay plan! :P
Heck, if they were B2P, I'd be playing Tera, SWTOR and TSW, for sure.

Yeah, that was uncalled for and unfair.
Not liking any game does not mean you wont like any other in the same genre.
How long a MMO will be fun is purely speculations though, so this thread is pointless right now. As I see it 1 month or more will give you your moneys worth, 6 months or more is a bargain and woukld be terrific, but as long as I enjoy myself it is all good.¨
Stop trying to think that you will tire of something, that makes everything in the world pointless and try to enjoy life now instead of worrying about the future.

I never get folks that think there is nothing to do once you level cap in an MMO. There is a TON of things you can do. Craft, Explore, group up with friends for missions etc.. Join a guild and take part in its weekly activities. You like PVP, so mix it up with a little PVE every now and then. Why limit yourself? See everything the game has to offer. And if you do get bored, then take a break. There's no monthly sub holding you down here.
Far as leveling goes,if you hate leveling then you just need to quit MMOs. Heck, just quit gaming altogether because most sinlge player games have progression of some kind in them. Even skill based games are just leveling without the level numbers.

Only fun I find in game is leveling, experimenting builds, .... etc. Never bored from leveling (actually I prefer saying playing) my 10 alts in wow to max, in Rift 2 and in swtor so far 4, but more 8 waiting.

While pvp isn't the only thing GW2 offers, i think HeroEvermore is trying to say that endgame will be pvp (both styles).

Maybe you actually should have tried the game before deciding that.
I tried Tera and decided it wasn't really worth the fee but I would have played it if it was B2P. With GW2 on the other hand I would pay monthly fees.
