I'll play the story line then quit.  Sad this isn't a co-op single player game.

you obviously havent been out of kingsmouth lol :) wtg with that sjit

I have and I felt the same.

Maybe you two can just admit that opinions are subjective.

    Effing fanboys.

I love how some people here can insult others and get away with it even when it is against the ToA, last time I read the ToA flaming others was not on the to do list, good job mods.

Longevity is definitely this games problem, you need to either mindlessly grind critters, or mindlessly re-do the not-very-large number of quests. Otherwise there's the pvp, maybe they thought everyone would want to do that, and would but that's always been pretty much a niche thing in MMO's lacking appeal to anything like the masses.

Far too early to try to seal this game's fate in a shroud of doom and gloom.  It hasn't even been released yet.  If you're passing judgment on it based on a "limited exposure" beta weekend event, then by that logic GW2 is also doomed.

I see a lot of posts by people that really enjoyed their TSW Beta #3 experiences, and despite a few reservations I have about its impending release date, I had a blast as well.

I agree. The game is overall very thought through, and presents some refreshing new ideas and possibilities into a game genre that has grown stale in the post WoW era. Combat animations need a serious polish on the visual aspects however. I don't agree with you that having your character turn automatically against the targeted mob would be an improvement. The fact that you have to face the targetted mob manually only makes you a more active participant in the combat, which makes it more challenging. What we don't need on the market right now is another run-through quest-grind without facing any real challenges on the way.

Now that I really think about it, I would have to agree with you on the turning toward target aspect.  It makes the game a bit more of a challenge, so if they improve the animations there is nothing I can say bad about it. Plus if they added that in the game the possibility of bots becomes a lot stronger.  Not being in a fantasy setting, puzzles, and traps really make this game stand out for me.

Yeah I get caught by that all the time. Can't throw a good insult about like you used too. I'm used to decent forums like the EVE ones where you can have a decent discussion with insults thrown in (not personal of course :P)

    Played this last beta weekend.

As a Lovecraft fan and enjoying the twisted minds that spawned lovecraftian mythos this game's background is really enjoyable. The cut scenes don't pee me off like swtor and they are there for a reason and you need to watch a listen for clues.

The lore and achievements you get are well won and add to the whole atmosphere.

Quests are fun, not done any dungeons though as didn't have the time this weekend.

Skills are interestingly won, unsure what level I was etc which was great.

Combat is fast and furious, with early fights pants soiling (Was an elementalist with no healing) though gets samey after a while.

The only animation I noticed and didn't like was my running which was a bit like I was waddling but for me didn't distract (doesn't bother me what the graphics animation is like unless its EVE of course :P)

Overall I want to buy, will see if I have the cash to do it....
