ROFL, you have a great day now. At least in this post you didn't go (oh hz is great).

Anarchyart, this forum is haunted by an evil spirit, don't you think? Sort of like the Exorcist: we need a priest to come here and perform an exorcism. Where's the green oatmeal? : ))

And why shouldn't he mention the game is great whenever he wants to, if he likes it? It might come across as a little over-enthusiastic sometimes, but it's a hell of a lot better than your whining, Dozer.
Somebody described HZ as a "charming game" and I do think that is really an apt description. Playing it again is a process of discovery and rediscovery.
I am constantly learning new stuff: just 10 minutes ago I asked in guild what to do with this thing in my inventory that I'd looted, called a trinket. They said I could "use" it (meaning it is a consumable) and a 1-time spell effect. So I "used" it and got a 10 minute +8 dexterity buff. Thing that's fun about trinkets is that you don't know what they will give you, and some of them are not so nice (like one that lowers your HP to a maximum of 10 for ten minutes!) -- you can be killed but not healed. This is a bold kind of thing; because it has "bad" stuff and it's a gamble, many games wouldn't be brave enough to incorporate something like that because of the inevitable fan whining "I don't pay xxxity-xx dollars a month to die because of a trinket!!!" (DUDE! don't use a trinket in an iffy situation then!!!)
I have seen stuff like this charming little detail, over and over and over again since returning to the game. HZ is really a unique game.

No, it's whining. You simply cannot STAND the fact that there are people who might find this game *gasp* ENJOYABLE, and so you have to continually recycle the same old info over and over again from your Fact Sheet of Negativity, hoping that these obviously clueless people eventually realize what a bad game it is they are playing.
Your posts are frustrating, Dozer, because I (and no doubt others) visit this particular forum on occasion to try and get a decent picture of what Horizons is all about. What I find, however, is that the large majority of posts are by someone who is obviously biased against the game, which consequently makes your opinion, in my eyes, count for very little. Think about it..the more you continually post on here preaching doom and gloom about this game, the less you are going to be taken seriously.
BUT..I'm sure you'll just ignore all of this and post something alluding to how my criticism of you only shows how shallow of a person I am or something like that. However, before you do that, take a few minutes to go through some of your previous posts on this forum. I think you will find that you have been more than a little condescending to more than one person whose opinion has differed from yours (this is why I find your above response to me a tad hypocritical).

We all have opinions and not once have I attacked a user. Unlike most of you. So who can really take anything you have to say either.

What is wrong with Horizons? Well one thing I wish (and this is true for every fantasy mmo, not just HZ) is that the devs would not be so stingy with travel powers. One of the reasons CoH is a gas is all the cool travel powers. In EQ, some classes can levitate but that really isn't much more than hovering above the ground (which is what dryads do in HZ). In HZ dragons can fly, and that's cool. HZ at least is a bit better than EQ/EQ2 in that you can get speed boots early on (and not rely on a spell like SoW or a potion) and the road bonus is great. But still it would be cool if you could get cool travel powers in fantasy mmos like the ones you can get in CoH. It makes all the travelling you have to do a lot of fun!
Having said that, HZ is a lot more flexible than EQ/EQ2 and even CoH in terms of how acrobatic your character can be. It is always fun to find that one exact place where you can run up and over a mountain -- might have to jump some also.
On the whole I would say that the devs have gotten rid of most of the game breakers. A cool thing about the devs at Tulga is that they are not afraid to make big changes, or to undo changes in response to player distress. As I have pointed out elsewhere: this is unlike other companies, which have learned to change incredibly slowly in order to minimize player catastrophizing.
HZ also has potions and other consumables to increase speed as well the potion is called Quints Quickstep and an alchemist can make it. Confectioners can make spun sugar and it grants the swift feet effect
Edit: Stop feeding the troll, maybe he will get a life

Maybe one day you guys will find a real game to tell people to try.

DOZeR is correct. I haven't read a personal attack yet. He is just as much entitled to speak his peace about Horizons as anyone else. He has stayed focused squarely on the game and not made it personal toward any other poster. Although I personally dont agree with him, thats what forums are all about.

True enough Torak.
I think some of us are just pointing out that the game has changed so much that opinions based on the game as it was pre-merger or without knowing what the game is like with all of the patches since merger (including last week's big one), those opinions really are out of date and not 100% reliable as impressions about the game as it is now. I don't see this as a personal attack on DOZer, though, since I really don't know when he stopped playing the game.
I used to love HZ even before all these changes. But the way the game is now has me really happy and dancing a little jig for tons of reasons.
Yep game is so great another long time user says goodbye. L8R Phillip and I hope you end up in a real game. What is that now? 45,988 have tried and moved on.

People come and people go. Thats what happens in games. People are no longer entertained. They find something else. I've played several games, I've met lots of really cool people. Many came and went. I've seen guild build up and be ripped apart because of infighting. I've seen people leave because of "nerfs" in some games. Students, family problems, new jobs, bordom.....on and on. I wish this guy luck, whoever he was. One thing is certain, he is no longer part of the community.
About 50 k people left CoH and 3 times that left EQ when WoW and EQ2 were released. Those games are recovering now too with people returning to games they enjoyed playing. So is HZ. And there are lots of new subscribers.
According to long-time EQ players, 'twas ever thus. Every time there's a major new release, people go try it out. Then a couple months later, some of them come back.
The HZ forums show that in the past week, there have been 15+ new arrivals in the "hellos" forum, and only 2 new departures in the "good-byes" forum. The influx rate is almost 10 times as great as the outflux rate, this week.
