you mean how much it costs them to make it?... thats so cheap its a joke... it takes them about $1 to make each chip because everythign atuomated and they sell billions.... we just get the end prices when we buy things because they want money... but for ps3 I think they will no better than chargeing us 1000 when will be payign 200-250....
They would never charge that much for a console. The reason people buy consoles is a) easy to setup and b) affordable price. That would be defeating the purpose of a console.
Its the whole commerical idea. If an AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 Processor sells for 750-850 dollars, how could a CPU 10 times as powerful sell for less than 300? It would be like reinventing a model-T but for CPUs.

no no.. see they will make it espcelly so that it only works with ps3... than it cant be used with anything else... they will charge butt loads for the pc version but with ps3 they will not...

I am guessing that the PS3 version will be the size of a CD case as the PS2's CPu was.

Sony, IBM and Toshiba said that they have ran Cell processors at "greater than 4GHz", though they wouldn't name an exact speed. Performance of the processor is said to be in excess of 256GFLOPS (256 billion floating-point operations per second). That's an extremely large number, the sort that you normally throw around when you're talking about arrays of multiple processors or even supercomputers. Measuring FLOPS can be done in a few different ways, but as a comparable number the highest you could get from a fast Pentium 4 these days is somewhere in the upper 20's."

XBox's profit of margin is very very very narrow. I've seen the profit charts of both the PS2 and XBox and, literally, their was no comparison

Most of it has to do with the fact that the majority of all Japanese licensed game companies with simply refuse to distribute their merchandise to XBox. They hate microsoft with a passion. DOn't misunderstand me, there are some Japanese companies that work with Microsoft for XBox games...but very little.

Have you seen that thing? It is super chic. It is basically a PS2 that you can carry around with you and it doubles as an MP3 player and a wireless pocket PC.
For my money the PSP is the next great gaming platform. If I want to play games at home My PC still kicks any consoles ass hands down.

# Camera - Xenon will have a USB 2.0 camera. It's capable of 1.2 megapixel still shots and VGA video. Photos can be used in-game and for gamer profiles. The camera can also be used for video chat. It's unknown if the Xenon camera will allow for EyeToy-like gameplay. Developers are currently using a simulated camera driver.
This is the only part that scares me. In today's day and age, I "t-bag" those I kill in halo 2 by repeatedly crouching up and down over their dead body's head. I'm scared of what the next level of t bagging with a camera is..lol
BTW, I think it's kidna disappointing that many (most ignorant) people don't have support the first American-made console. Not only that, many say that games made by Americans suck which is a bunch of bull crap.

The only genre that americans are good at is FPS and Sports.
2 main ones that the Japanese is good at are:
RPGs... Japanese > Anywhere else Driving... GRAN TURISMO 4 (Japanese)
And, the majority of people who play consoles play RPGs and Driving more often than FPS and sports. That is why games made by Americans suck.

I would have to disagree with you there on Japanese RPGs being the best. Although I would say that they do own the console RPG market (there aren't any real big series except for Final Fantasy), they have barely touched the PC market where I think most of the greatest RPGs are. On the PC there are such classics as the Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Elder Scrolls series, Fallout, Ultima, and Deus Ex. Even recently there has been some great games, including both KOTOR 1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights, and Vampires: The Masquerade. Then there's also the more action-oriented hack and slash RPGs such as Diablo and Dungeon Siege as an alternative to the more slower-paced games. And that' s not even including all of the MMORPGs being made here... (I do hope that Bioware will decide to port Jade Empire to PC)
But back on topic, I don't really care what country the console is from, I decide from what games are on it. I own a Gamecube and a Playstation 2 because they have the console games that I enjoy. I don't have or need an Xbox because the games I really want I can play either on my PC or PS2 (and if I can't, there's always one of my friends...)
Yeah, id have to say one of my favorite RPG's of all time wasn't Japanese made, it was "Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura". It was probobly the best RPG that nobody played because the company had virtually no advertisements for it.
