Blizz makes other games than Titan. For example, Heart of the Swarm is probabbly going to be out before Titan. And certainly MOP, and the inevitable Diablo 3 expansion.
Fun is subjective. some people shoot cats for fun. all the rest play Wow and create silly blood elfs who fight sideways. it's all good innovation is dead it died in 2004. party on..
And why wouldn't it? FPS asks players to kill SAME looking enemies with SAME firearms many times. FPSes are considered fun.
I played D3 .. it is fun .. repeatedly kill large horde of mobs .. feel powerful, feel challenged (in inferno mode).
There is no contradiction here. Repeated action *can* be fun. In fact, there are many OTHER examples. Many sports requires repeated actions.
You're example isn't here nor there (nor anywhere, really)
Besides, weren't you just defending single player games from EA in another thread? You know, the same company that keeps rehashing the same old shit and spoon feeding it to a mentally disabled player base at full price as another game (when in fact its the same game as the last one, same engine, gameplay, everything, just different environs)
No wonder you enjoy repetition so much. Its a wonder you don't save yourself a bunch of money and buy a ball-in-a-cup or paddle ball or something
The above is my personal opinion. Anyone displaying a view contrary to my opinion is obviously WRONG and should STHU. (neener neener)
I have no problem buying Blizzard games. They make some of the best casual friendly games for those who want a quick fix now and as long as you don't expect more out of them, you won't ever be disappointed.
I just wish they would finally make a game for the sandbox and pvp crowd instead of more pve themeparks.
Every time I go lurker mode then come back, I always hope the "cool to hate WoW/Blizzard" effect has worn off the community. It seems were half way there atleast.
Of course I'd buy another Blizzard game, they make great games. Do I buy a game because Blizzard made it though? Nope. But I also dont buy a game cause EA made it. I buy games I want to play and leave Devs out of it, then I call it like I see it. Thats why Ill probably get flamed to death if I ever post in the Tera sub forums again...Boy did those fan boys not like my opinion...=D
All in all, it is my opinion that if you stop buying this or that game because of the studio or the investors/financial backers, your doing yourself a disservice. We're gamers, how bout we play games?
If a company has a good game I want to play i'll buy it. I don't feel wronged by game companies like a lot of epople on here although I didn't play some of the ones a lot of people seem complain about.
Would I buy a new game just because Blizzard made it?... nope... never did and never will. Would I buy a game I'd find fun and enjoyable?. Of course, regardless of whether it was made by Blizzard or anyone else.
I see no reason why not, obviously it depends if they create a game I might enjoy, so far the only game I have enjoyed from Blizzard is World of warcraft that I played of and on from a few months after release till BC, and they only thing that I have to show for it was my Shaman lvl 60 and then actually stopped playing to have never returned. Really never enjoyed other games they developed. And it's a wait and see what Titan will be.
I am a gamer and play games I enjoy, doesn't really matter what company is behind the game, aslong I personaly feel it's fun to play I will play it.
Still find it wierd there are people who will not play certain games because of certain company's. Though I do understand that if someone is burned to much by a certain company that they might approuch a game with caution if it comes from a company they got bad experiance with. But thats just plain obvious. Oh no wait that's not obvious as we see so many topics about hating game company X ( not meant towards OP just commonly speaking)
I'll say with 99.9% certainty, barring an MMO based on MoP's pet battle system, that I will purchase Titan when it comes out. Last time I checked Blizzard had 90+ people working on Titan and I assume all, if not most, of those people are exclusively working on the title and are part of Blizzard's "A" team. With this in mind It's hard to compare the whole company with any one title but Titan will be special.
Personally I couldn't play D3 because of the repetition and I think WoW does not offer as much content as it should though it's fun IMO. Regardless I think Blizzard will continue to put out good games because people enjoy them. The issues with D3 have certainly kicked Blizzard down a notch but in time I believe it will be gained back.
I feel Blizzard is breaking down right now and won't go back up anymore. I've played everything they released so far but it's probably time to move on to some other company or something...
I still like their games, but I feel a decrease in quality and too much to-market adaptation, and I believe they're losing sight of things. I don't think I'll be getting SCII or DIII or WoW expansions, even though I kinda want to. They're just going to disappoint.
Tbh, I dread Titan. Blizzard did not create a new franchise for over a decade.
Even though I expected more from D3, I was still pleased with the game. Hell, I think I spent 100 hours playing the game. That's a lot of hours spent playing it. And I usually don't play so much (it's been a little over a month since the game released so that's tons of hours). I don't get nearly as much playtime from other games I've purchased. I still find it fun to level up characters and will see how the PvP works out. So there's the potentional for many more hours. Probably will hit at least 300 hours maybe more. That's great value for the 27 pounds I spent on the game.
Starcraft 2 - amazing game. It was everything I expected and more. Much better than SC1. I spent over 1k hours playing that game in exchange for the 40 pounds I spent on it. That's 4p per hour lol. I will probably get even more hours once they introduce the arcade!
World of Warcraft - I loved that game. I've spent countless hours playing WoW. My most played game of all time.
Warcraft 3 - amazing game, played it for 500 hours probably.
Diablo 2 - second most played game after WoW. I could spend all day PvPing without getting bored.
SC 1 - great. Played for quite a bit.
D1 - it was a good game. Didn't play it so much as the other games.
WC2 - played this ages after it came out but it was fun.
So why shouldn't buy Blizzard games when they are so fun and they are well worth my money?
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
No wonder you enjoy repetition so much. Its a wonder you don't save yourself a bunch of money and buy a ball-in-a-cup or paddle ball or something
you insult the guy and yet he's pretty much "right on".
Look at most sports, you do the same thing over and over again. You get up to the plate and hit the ball "the same way" in baseball and run around the same bases in the same direction.
Football? You kick the ball and the opposing team catches it and they try to get it to your end zone. If you get it back you do the same. All the time. Tennis? TENNIS!?!?!?! Not even going to go into golf.
It's those repetitioins what happens within those repetitions that makes it interesting, that makes it appealing. So yes, it's fun to get up to bat and hit the ball and run around those bases, it's fun to run down the field and dodge the opposing players or else you get tackled, and it's fun volley the ball back and forth on the court and try to make it so the opposing player misses.
It's a bit reductionist but these games have their fun in repetition and the small surprisees that occur within that canvas of repetiion.
When it stops being fun getting up to bat for "the umpteenth time to the x power" then it's time to do something else. This seems to be the trick that some players just can't master.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
just like other person said before. If they make a game i want to play, there is no reason why i should not buy it.
Also, if they make a WoW sequel following the same lore and with next gen graphics and correcting some things like removing gear grinding progression, im re-buying it again, no questions asked.
I dont play DIablo and Starcraft so as long as their new games arent moba, rts or diablo likes, im in.
I feel Blizzard is breaking down right now and won't go back up anymore. I've played everything they released so far but it's probably time to move on to some other company or something...

awww, you are cute, wanna buy a monkey?
gotta love self proclaimed business experts :P
how much money do you make per year again? if blizz is breaking down, than whats your state atm? being bankrot?
1.17 billion income is surely not breaking down dude, get your facts straight
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
Never say never. It all depends on what theyw ill do with their games. HotS - I'll probably get, because despite some effort form Blizzard's side it's still a decent, competitive RTS with large community, but next titles? I already didn't buy Diablo3, not planning on MoP since I'm WoW-free for about 1.5 year now. Titan I know nothing about so it's really hard to have opinion.
If they make a game I'll like and it won't have any annoying features I might buy it. I don't pay that much attention to brand on the box. Don't care. Games are not a political or social statement for me, they are entertainment.
Im proud to say I voted hell nah, I played WOW a lot and is one of my all time favorites along with SWG but I feel like a puppet now looking back on it, I would definitely never play anything they release ever again as I hate that feeling there company gives me.
There are very few studios I will buy from almost indescriminately. And Blizzard has long ceased to be one of them. If they release a good game, I will buy it. But I will not buy anything because Blizzard released it.

Everyone make mistakes.

What can men do against such reckless hate?
Blizzard has never made a game I dont like so I'm pretty sure I'll keep buying them

Most probably not.

My thoughts exactly. Never liked WoW though so I not just buying because of the name.
I vote yes, but I didnt buy D3 for the same reason I will never ever buy a single player game that forces me to play online.
If I wanted to play online, I would buy an online game. No DRM...ever, no matter the company or game.

No. After they ruined the MMORPG genre with WoW and how they release games for mass market I realised they are the MacDonalds of gaming.
