Frogster have killed EU Tera

GreyhooffGreyhooff Member Posts: 654

Game is dead in Europe due to Frogster's mismanagement.

Server downtimes, taking a month and a half to get servers semi-stable, content pathes 1.5 months behind US version, no shop, no skins, no support, blilling errors, no GMs, no moderation, just... nothing.

Frogster have lost control entirely: with the game at PEGI 12, teenagers were exposed to a deluge of violent pornography and profanity on the official Frogster forums - with Frogster providing no moderation and allowing the explicit images and porn to be displayed to kids, just because they are too lazy to maintain their official forums.

The game has collapsed in utter chaos. Servers are emptying out and guilds are dissolving.

It is true K-Tera isn't doing great and US Tera has issues. But even if Tera was a perfect game, Frogster would have killed it with their lack of customer service and total incompetence at running a game.

Never let these guys get another game to kill.

And if you want ArcheAge to succeed, make sure they know to not give Frogster the contract.

You can show your support on facebook, I personally don't know how facebook groups work but if it gets the message out, it's worth doing:

I was thinking about getting this game from amazon.co.uk because it had came down enough in price, but I am glad I read the forums first! I was thinking about playing it on US servers but my playtimes would not match up and I would probably have to pay full price for the digital version of the game.

Frogster sound terrible and remind me of GOA, it is highly depressing when the EU version of a game is so far behind everything else, it really is not worth subscribing to.

Tera isn't doing super great in the U.S. either from what I can see. That has nothing to do with Frogster.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

It's not Frogster fault. It's players fault. 1st day BH announced that Frogster taking TERA rights for EU, on EME forums was thread in 65 pages QQ about Frogster and their famous bussines. Then, again there were 3.257.865.324 threads on 20.578.257 forums over the internet , warnings from Frogster's ex-customers - do not play EU or go NA version. A lot of people defended Frogster (even on mmorpg.com forums) before TERA was out and even they not were their customers ever or even played their one single game. You got what you wanted, enjoy the show.

I had to change email addresses entirely in the past just to get rid of Frogster after filtering thirty+ email addresses I received brainless itam-mall spam (Frogster related) from in the past.

I tried browsing the forum from the beginning. It's pretty funny

    Worried people about Frogster

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/285139/EU-comunity-How-much-does-the-PR-response-from-Frogster-convinced-you.html

It's a bit off topic but i found this

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/273244/TERA-Officially-Labeled-As-a-Sandbox-MMO.html

Questions to the developers in 2010

    Gameplay

Q: This game sandbox or theme park?
A: TERA has been described as a "sandbox MMO".

Q: What end-game content is planned?
A: Players will find that at higher levels they'll have the potential to affect both events and the world itself. We'll have more to announce about this soon, so stay tuned!

    MIND = BLOWN

What a joke. Frogster are just utterly incompetent.

Bluehole Studios / En Masse needs to realise this company is just ripping off customers, exposing kids to porn on their forums, and just destroying Tera EU.

Same as Gameforge, which is no suprise seeing as they are the majority owners.

These people have no place in AAA games. They are the worst mix of cheap and feckless.

The game is dead...not because of frogster...but because tera isa  terrible generic asian mmorpg just like all other 1000s on the market, and they ask for a monthly fee...damn i mean wtf is the mmorpg industry doing...its all a bunch of ignoramous developers wanting a quick dollar gain.

Well I will say one thing about En Masse Tera...

I asked a question about a quest where the target was not given on an orange dot and was certainly not obvious.

The second response to the question was a private message from a GM telling me where it was.

    -----

I don't think I have ever seen a company where they actually have GMs watch the world chat and reply to questions therein.  While I can't say much about bluehole and the issues that are happening in korea and the choice of frogster in europe, I can say that the customer service by enmasse is top notch.

There is another possibility. Frogster is going to also publish RaiderZ in the EU apparently. The game is not ready for release yet, but my guess is that they are dragging their feet with Tera because they don't really want the game to take off, but they do like the publicity that comes from Tera and could potentially translate to RaiderZ players.

So we may have a case of EQ2 and Vanguard in our hands. Frogster has two games in their hands, with very similar concepts, but with one of them being a familiar F2P model, while the other is more traditional subscription model. Unfortunately for them the F2P game is not ready yet, so they do what they can to keep the subscribers of Tera in check but without taking the blame for any issues in the process.

A bit far fetched? Maybe. It does make sence though considering the big difference between the EU and US experience.

I am from Europe, SE Europe more precisely, and gave Tera NA a try in the 7 day period.

Got no problems with lag, so it's a viable alternative for everyone.

Even more reason Bluehole / En Masse should take Frogster off the project right away and maybe start legal proceedings.

The word is that for PvP Basilik Crag has  a number of francophone guilds.  Freeholds,  which had been "recommended" since launch has gone "medium". Dragonfall from "medium" for weeks" to steady "High" with all PvP servers at "High" and remainder as standard.

PvE Dragonfall is king but people are going to Freeholds from somewhere.  I would not be surprised if a number of EU players are heading there because it's only after the threads about EU players looking for NA servers started appearing a couple of weeks ago that Freeholds changed population status. Just check the server forums and see if there are any guilds with your language making announcements or recruitment.

Sorry to hear about the European servers, thats a shame.

However TERA over here in the US is doing quite well, at least on both servers I am playing on (Valley of Titans and Dragonfall)

Both communitys on each server are very active and I don't see any doom or gloom yet over here on our servers as you folks are seeing on yours, then again we don't have your folks same issue.

The idea would to bring your characters over to our servers, now that would be excellent.

    You obviously aren't playing...

Game isn't dead at all actually and the only thing generic about the game is the brand of quests offered during leveling up.

That said if you are only playing the game for the style of quests during level up as opposed to the:

    Community quality

    PvP

    Combat

    Animation/Visuals/Graphics/ Game world

    Story

    Challenge

Then it's a game world you never planned to spend any time in anyway and you won't get your monie's worth.

I think the next 6-12 months are going to be very good to Tera.

En Masse isn't just spouting they have a plan( SWTOR/BW), they are specifically saying what those plans are and when they plan to see them implemented.  They've been frank in regard to the fact that BlueHole has more development time since localization efforts have been completed and as a company En Masse has proven to be responsive and prompt. They've also been clear they they want to implement the game players want to see and are constalty asking for feedback and new ideas.

The game actually reminds me a bit of Asheron's Call in its' heyday mixed with a bit of Aion's flavor. And while I was initially nervous about getting it, some of the comments from forum goers on this site sold me on making the plunge.

I'm sorry Frogster is not proving to be a good fit for so many and can only say that If you can deal with the 2nd purchase EnMasse's version is pretty nice and I know we have a number of Austrailian members on Dragonfall and even a few Austrailian/ US Late night guilds.

    Care to explain?

    - KTera is almost dead.

    - JTera is indeed dead.

    - NATera is 2 months away from QoA2 update.

    - TFSM knows when EUTera is going to get QoA2 update.

    - QoA2 update is just 2 more dungeons and BGs.

    - Wait 6 more months for the next update.

After they totally dropped the ball on Chronicles of Spellborn, i will never again touch another Frogster game.  I warned afriend not to get EU Tera, but did he listen?  Nope.   He learned his lesson quick is now playing on NA Tera.

I don't know how a company like this can treat their user base without any regard and still exist and make a profit.  *looks at EA...

Gee. 2 week old account. 15 posts - all to rag on Tera.

Isn't there a single game in this website where you could hang out with like minded people to discuss your favorite game? Or did you start this new account with the single purpose to spend your forums days trolling on one game. Inquiring mind want to know.
