Tera isn't doing super great in the U.S. either from what I can see. That has nothing to do with Frogster.
Tera is doing fine in the US. The combat style is not everyone's cup of tea and the rest of the game is simply on par for an MMO. Standard questing, standard features, etc. It is impressive that they have already had a dungeon finder for like a month with SWTOR only getting their's yesterday. EnMasse is a good company. they have been very responsive to their customers and over all the roll out of the game went very very smoothly. There are downsides to the game, the queue takes forever because only lancers can queue as tanks and some other details but over all Enmasse's Tera is a very good game. I would recommend anyone to try it out. If you like the combat style then it makes for a very decent game.
I was thinking about getting this game from amazon.co.uk because it had came down enough in price, but I am glad I read the forums first! I was thinking about playing it on US servers but my playtimes would not match up and I would probably have to pay full price for the digital version of the game.
Frogster sound terrible and remind me of GOA, it is highly depressing when the EU version of a game is so far behind everything else, it really is not worth subscribing to.
GOA was bad, I will be the first to tell you that, but they never exposed (that I know of) teenagers to pornographic content. I am a bit mystified by that. How did that happen?

Being a decent game doesn't mean it's doing well. Unless they buck the trend and start getting more sales over time, then they peaked several weeks ago. They aren't getting more sales over time. They're doing what pretty much every other MMORPG does, which is steadily lose players. They didn't start with very many players to begin with. So...they aren't doing very well in NA either.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Quit Tera after they ban 12 of my guild mate for using tunneling/proxy service to improve their ping (they're from asia and UAE region)
TSW life time sub here i come.
That is a shame they banned you for using a proxy just to get a better ping. I'm not sure how much focus Frogster is putting into this but it seems quite a bit. I remember playing J-TERA for a couple of months and I had to use a proxy (no other way since you have to log into the website first before logging into the game) and I never got banned.

Well to clarify i didn't get banned but 12 of my guildmate did. Thou i still have CE and recently just top up 60 days sub, i decided to quit anyway. A number of thread in the official forum have already mention the problem.
The game is dead...not because of frogster...but because tera isa terrible generic asian mmorpg just like all other 1000s on the market, and they ask for a monthly fee...damn i mean wtf is the mmorpg industry doing...its all a bunch of ignoramous developers wanting a quick dollar gain.
You obviously aren't playing...
Game isn't dead at all actually and the only thing generic about the game is the brand of quests offered during leveling up.
That said if you are only playing the game for the style of quests during level up as opposed to the:
Community quality
PvP
Combat
Animation/Visuals/Graphics/ Game world
Story
Challenge
Then it's a game world you never planned to spend any time in anyway and you won't get your monie's worth.
I think the next 6-12 months are going to be very good to Tera.
En Masse isn't just spouting they have a plan( SWTOR/BW), they are specifically saying what those plans are and when they plan to see them implemented. They've been frank in regard to the fact that BlueHole has more development time since localization efforts have been completed and as a company En Masse has proven to be responsive and prompt. They've also been clear they they want to implement the game players want to see and are constalty asking for feedback and new ideas.
The game actually reminds me a bit of Asheron's Call in its' heyday mixed with a bit of Aion's flavor. And while I was initially nervous about getting it, some of the comments from forum goers on this site sold me on making the plunge.
I'm sorry Frogster is not proving to be a good fit for so many and can only say that If you can deal with the 2nd purchase EnMasse's version is pretty nice and I know we have a number of Austrailian members on Dragonfall and even a few Austrailian/ US Late night guilds.
Care to explain what they want to implement and when?
Cause the last AMA was all "soon" "we are working on it" "we are looking into it" etc.

GOA was bad as well, I remember them wrecking Warhammer in the early days through the same kind of laziness and incompetence as Frogster.
Frogster provides official forums in EU but doesn't have anyone moderating them, so they occasionally get spammed with pornography and violent imagespam.
Bear in mind that Tera is PEGI-12 in the EU, which means that 12 year olds are logging into their game forum and finding it full of porn - personally, I don't think it's the end of the world, but a lot of parents would take issue to that.
If it was some other forum, then fine, but the official forum of the game? Frogster's laziness becomes kind of inexcusable really.
I know transitions like that can't happen from one day to the next, but I am really hoping they take over within the next couple of months and not wait till the end of this year or the next. If they wait that long, chances are the populations will dip near to what Japan currently has.

Tera is not a great game. It makes wild claims that it is different, but it's the same WoW model with a little bit better combat.
The ocean is purple. It makes wild claims it's blue when everyone knows it's just another shade of purple. And yes, my opinion is an absolute fact that every other sane person shares.

I don't know if Tera is a good game or not to be honest. It could be a superb game that would only appeal to people who haven't played it. It just doesn't seem like they are doing very well anywhere.
In the 7 or 8 weeks since release, they haven't even clocked a quarter million copies sold according to VGChartz. I assume VGChartz is under reporting the numbers, but even so, that's low, and it gets lower every week. If their development costs were anything close to Rift's, they haven't made nearly enough money.
Given that their sales are bad everywhere, it's hard to attribute the game's poor performance in Europe to Frogster. I wouldn't be surprised if Frogster somehow made things even worse for a game that was going to struggle anyway...but it doesn't seem like the game has a real chance to begin with.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
By knowing how they work, it bothers me if they ruining game intentionally - screw people, make them piss, rage and leave game, report officially how game not doing well in EU - so they can be "forced" to make it F2P.
You guys should have read the "Runes of Magic" (one of the Frogster Producst) forum on mmorpg.com to save your time and troubles....never buy a game just blind or follow the masses without an individual check.
It´s sad when the publisher ruins the game and u quit because u dont like what they are doing. It´s sad tera is a good mmorpg but with frogster im done after 2 months. In the end all ppl that were against frogster are so right. Frogster is made for f2p trash like runes of magic not triple a mmorpgs.

All die, so die well.
Sure. See my initial post to get my answers to your relevant questions.

Playing MUDs and MMOs since 1994.

Frogster already had a bad rep- this should cement their demise (Hopefully).
If it hasn't been mentioned, Brian Knox did say that EME will probably be taking over EU Tera at some point.

any way to move an EU account into US?
or you just have to buy another copy of (US) TERA?
just wondering....
Frogster are useless, that's why I never bought Tera, I knew they were gonna screw up, and they didn't fail to confirm my predictions.
But now I got myself a copy from Enmasse and I will play on the NA servers.
Frogsters can burn in hell.
See ya in game
