i wholeheartedly agree with the OP. i think a large part of the problem is that the devs only listen to the hardcore players, who of course, already know how to play inside and out.
there is just very little to compell a newb to keep pushing past the obscure complexity of the first time play. whenever i bring this up on various forums, the die hard EvE fans get all up in arms and basically accuse me and anyone else who thinks such to be a stupid troll.
i like the idea of EVE, but it's too support by a community of people who think figuring out a needlessly complicated UI is the supreme mark of intelligence, and somehow a worthwhile preventative measure against "dumb" players running amok in their paradise.
it's an awful shame that, what i more or less assume, is the best MMO in history has to be so blind to this.
What they need to do is make a better frigan tutorial so more people can get into the game and understand it.

Bah, your form is good, but you need just a little bit more practice and expertise to really nail that expert level troll speak. Read through some of my old posts. It truely is an artform. You must be VERY subtle.
I dont get it. Im just trying to promote standard MMO models that we have come to learn over the past few years. They should be in every MMO so they all can make the Devs a lot of money. Cause if the Devs are making money, then we know the game is good.
So your argument is that since vanilla ice cream sells the best then logically ice cream makers should stop making orange sorbet, tell the smaller market (that they are making good money from) to sod off and get used to vanilla ice cream. Yes I can see that this is a very well thoughout argument.

I love snails. I love every kinda snail. I just want to hug them all, but I cant. Cant hug every snail.
Or maybe they could just keep developing the game that's been alive since the early 2000's and has a solid (if not enormous) player base. If you want a space game to hit level cap fast play star trek online (it's even free so when you decide you hate it because it's not WoW you're out nothing). If you want WoW play WoW, otherwise shut up and put effort in to something for once in your life.
Harsh! Jeez lighten up. I just dont want to be sitting around looking for something to do. I want some fast paced action.
Of all the things you can be looking for in EVE "fast paced action" should not be one of them because EVE is not that kind of game. I think either you have fooled yourself or were fooled by CCP if you believe EVE has fast paced anything. Though, I think you must be trolling, beause most people that play MMO's know EVE is not that kind of game.
Thanks for the tip Aeol. Yea Im really into twitch gaming. The kind of stuff that takes actual skill. I mad pwn bitches in MW3. I heard Tera was going to be really great action and PvP at first. But since, I have heard its a grindy mess.
God I just think MMO devs that put grind in their games are so lazy. Its like, put some content in your games. Im paying for them. I dont want to be spending all my free time lvling up, I want tons of new dungeons and instances. You know endgame content. I also dont want to be spending all my time trying to get my gear. I absolutley hate gear up to gear up to gear up bs.
Then wouln't you just be "grinding" end game content? And you don't want to spend tiem getting gear (which is what grinding intances gives you for rewards) so once you do those a few times then what?
How many times is it ok to repeat the same "end game content".
How fast can deves really get you instances to do a few times before they need more?
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

well im pretty sure there is a difference between lvl and gear grinding and doing endgame content. Its pretty common knowledge. Its pretty much an MMO standard now. No one wants to grind in an MMO anymore. Its just not fun.
I love snails. I love every kinda snail. I just want to hug them all, but I cant. Cant hug every snail.
It took me a good 4 attempts to get into eve. A helpful corp is key, you also need to find your area of interest. For me, mining, with a splash of pvp is where I find my enjoyment. Looking forward to the barge/exhumer revamp!

But that's what you would be doing, "end game" content over and over again.
Personally, I abhor "end game" anything. I'd much rather have an open ended game where one didn't have a set map to run over and over.
But my question stands.
Let's take gear out of it. What is it you really want to be doing? pvp maps over and over again? How many maps are going to suffice before you need new maps. and new maps.

Like if you aren;'t doing endgame, whats the point? Periodic mid level content? Lore focused questing? Crafting and economy bs? Partying? Can you say GRIND?

Like don't they know that most of us just want to log in and start having fun? We just want to kill mobs and each other. What is with the heavy emphasis on learning all the ships and intricate details of the game? Talk about a barrier to entry, no wonder this game came no where near WoW in epic funness not to mention subscribers.
First thing they should do is make some sort of quest-like progression so I can hit max level and get to the end game and the pvp.
Second, they should make it F2P so that the game gets a bunch more players and becomes a whole lot more fun.
6.5/10 not bad, you pressed the right buttons, but it's lacking in emotion, which made it just too obvious. Points added because you got a couple of bites even so.
Too generous as always Malcanis, no more than a 5/10 as he wasn't able to sustain the momentem generated in the early going.
Four pages later, I don't know.
I'm almost willing to give him an 8, but the writting isn't very good. He should have changed his profile so that it didn't show him as 33, and then put in more poor grammer to seal the deal.

There is only 1 world map to fight over in EVE, and thats kinda the point...
Hence guilds/organization movements make global game news:
uwhop and jak stop fighting hehe. yall are both perfectly fine. i understand where each of you are coming from. But both yall should calm down and cheer up.
You both intrigue me though, so if you stop by this thread lemme know what MMOs you are both playing atm.
Also, thanks uwhop for the 8. I appreciate it. Im actually much younger than 33 but like two years ago some guy on these forums, who lived near me, said he was going to find and kill me, so i changed my city and age to throw him off... lol im serious.
Also, calvis (if thats your name im not quoting anyone here so its hard to remember) you made me laugh hehe. Im a strawberry man meself.

There are at least 20 mainstream games that fit the description you're seeking. More if you add in the actual f2p games.
But you want the only game that is DIFFERENT, to change what it is to become just like every other game, so that it appeals to a group of people it is not supposed to appeal to. EVE is what it is for a reason, because it appeals to a crowd of gamers that are not interested in those other games. Gamers that want an immersive and challenging experience that mimics realistic scenarios like an economy, politics, and real loss.
This is why people aren't taking you seriously. Because you fail to grasp that EVE's concept is currently one of a kind, and changing it to be like other games would entirely defeat the purpose and would go against CCP's development culture.
Just because you can't grasp the game, doesn't mean other people can't.

....and please do explain, what exactly should i have understood your use of the word "writting" and "grammer" to be? what deep an mysterious meaning have i missed?
Thats number 1 question I asked when people starting moaning in EVE did you do the tutorial? Their reply "No..." gtfo....
And that is why open world PVP is much more appealing if done right (SWG) towards the end of the games life had so many open world pvp options and features the pvp battleground instance maps they did have noone played on them hardly.
Its almost like we are on the EVE-O forums now (^_^)
There is only 1 world map to fight over in EVE, and thats kinda the point...
Hence guilds/organization movements make global game news:

I don't think you understand EVE.
