not bad, but not great, I would have loved to see both Euro and Sterling prices go down a lil further to give our brothers and sisters across the pond a lil more maneuverability. Better than nothing I suppose.
We were looking into the feedback about the subscription prices in UK£. Today we adjusted the monthly fee in UK£ down to 11.49 incl. VAT to make it more in line with the pricing in Euro. This has been changed on the website and also on the billing page today.

Still no explanation as to why it's 28% more expensive per month than any other MMO though. That's the part I want an answer for.

That's with VAT included. It factors out to UK paying 60 cents more than US for subscription to Funcom.
EU ends up paying about a dollar more with VAT included for subscription to Funcom.
The 15% VAT is the kicker to both EU and UK. Funcom doesn't see that part of the money.

Erm... if you pay monthly then basically every other MMO is $15 a month aswell.
cool I guess. You're not cheating Funcom out of any money really anyways. You're cheating your government. The one you should be mad about with the whole VAT thing in the first place tbh.

No.
TSW = £11.49
Every other MMO = £8.99
It really doesn't matter what other countries pay, but it does matter that Funcom has chosen to charge more for TSW than any other MMO in the UK only.

Just because 15 is the norm, doesn't mean 15 is a price anyone wants to pay, frankly Sub fees are an archaic model and I personally wouldn't pay for one no matter what the fee.

Get it now?
Is that 8.99 with VAT included? And if so, are you saying that Funcom should make less money revenue wise from UK than they would with US?

This thread is about UK prices. Most sub-based MMOs are around 9 UK pounds per month if you pay monthly, including our exorbitant sales tax.

11.49 is with VAT included.
8.99 is VAT included.
But every single other MMO is 8.99 in the UK, so why shouldn't Funcom also?

With VAT included, yes.
I'm ignoring your second question as it has no semblance to what I said.

I can only guess its because the english pound isnt worth that mutch anymore.

Actually yes it does. See if you pay 8.99 for a sub. VAT then taken out...that's less money that Funcom gets from having a UK subscriber than they get from a US subscriber. You're saying they should eat the VAT like other companies because that's how it always was.
So it has everything to do with the point and explains why you're paying a little more for a sub vs. US.
We are paying more than 15% more than usa. We are paying 28% more. VAT is not 28% in the UK (it might be in Europe, but it ain't here). It looks to me like they converted $ to then converted to £ rather than a direct conversion. Anyway how come usa gamers get away with not paying local sales tax?

Look in the (undeservedly) locked topic on this subject. It explains that VAT isn't taken from anywhere. There's no need to go over it again.

We can put a twist to your reasoning, why is the US and Europe paying more for every other mmo then the UK. Every mmo sub is around 15usd, the UK pays give or take 13.5 usd.

Just comes to show they do listen and clearly care, they adjusted the price.
To be fair we should have been paying about £9.99 to bring us in line with us and eu.
The original UK for tsw price in $ would have been $21. We don't pay over 30% VAT, it didn't make sense.

11.49 is with VAT included.
there is an easy solution.
wanna pay in euro? actually... you britts said you didnt want to.. now you want to!?
shesh, make up your mind
first you wanted your pund, now you cry that's its more expensive
really shocking news, rest of europe knew this for decades already :P england is expensive!

It's currently joint fifth in terms of value, so it cannot be that.
