What Titan will be.

First - the facts that I'm basing my assumption on:

- Blizzard reps have stated they expected Titan to last 10,15,20 years.

- Job postings related to the Titam project related to Franchising (people assume this is in-game ad sales)

- Blizzard reps state that WoW and Titan can co-exist.

So, What Titan will be:

A fully immersive MMO platform(being the key word here)  based upon a storyline that allows access to multiple styles of game play.

Explanation:

Basically, it will be akin to a graphical Steam or Origin client. The storyline will be a wrapper, but sub-games will plug into the client and be accessible through NPC Quest Givers or "Portals" of some sort.  Meaning, your typical interface could be akin to that of WoW, but you could accept a quest or enter a portal which suddenly loads you into a top-down perspective RTS view in which you suddenly need to command/build various units to take points (i.e. WC3).  Apply this logic to any style of gameplay you can think of, as maybe the portal or quest suddenly spits you into an FPS shooter mode, or DoTA style gameplay etc...

This would explain the expectation of the game lasting 10,15,20 years.. as they could plug in an unlimited number of game types into the system.  They would even build out World Builder (i.e. WC3), and allow player developed content to be plugged in.  This would open the doors for 3rd party developers to tapinto the world as well (and thus we have the Franchise Development Job).

Lastly, this would allow for Titan and WoW to co-exist.. as they would not be in direct competition of each other.. WoW may very well even be accessible through a "portal" of sorts.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents... only an open ended system that decentralizes development, and taps into EVERY single gaming playstyle that is or may be... could even think of going strong for 20 years.  I'm actually surprised no MMO before now has broken the mold and done this to be honest :P

since this is a make-your-assumption thread i'll say Titan will be either World of Starcraft or World of Diablocraft to co-exist with WoW

I think they've said it will not be a previous IP, thus one of their popular franchises is not a high probability.

They will make a star wars universe clone just like they copied warhammer with Warcraft.

You'd think blizzard would have no experience in the rts genre :|

This actually sounds like an amazing game.

But I don't think Blizzard will do this, even though they should, and very well could make this perfectly with their resources.

A game like this could dominate not only the MMO genre, but every genre if done well. It could potentially become the new social website etc.

It wouldn't surprise me if Blizzard had something so grand in scope like this, but I've got a feeling Titan will be an above average FPS or RTS MMORPG.

Some massive developer should definitely pick up this idea though! Would be amazing.

You could literally have every single genre in one place, and the story line would be something about dimensions and different worlds, somewhat like the Matrix.

    Sounds great.

I took two months to get bored of WoW(played about 3 years ago), just reached level cap in 3 weeks, did some instances and BGs next month, after realising that the game is basically about doing these same Bgs-instances over and over for achievements, where people sat down in cities without interacting, except for the bad words in trade chat while they wait for the next instance, finish the instance and sit down again, I left the game and never came back. I don't know how there are people that can do this same thing, going to queues behind queues for these same instances-bgs for 5 years or more.

Call of duty or battlefield are funnier to play if you just want to go in instanced rooms and play multiplayer just for fun-archievements. At least I take much more time to get bored of a CoD multiplayer.

That's funny because that's almost exactly what I was thinking when I saw the title... I see D3's RMAH as a test drive for Blizzard as they prepare Titan for launch. I can also see Blizzard wanting to do "cutting edge" things like integrating login with Face Book, updating your status with what you're doing in game, and posting to all of your soon-to-be-ex friends every time you get an achievement.

As far as the game itself? It'll be WoW 2.0 with a different IP.

Oh hey, here's a thought... have any of you been to McDonalds in recent years? They use to give out (maybe they still do) pieces of paper with codes on them for game unlocks in McWorld. Maybe Blizzard will partner with companies and you'll see game unlocks in your Taco Bell wrapper or printed on your WalMart receipts... and printable coupons will replace dungeon drops. "Congratulations, you've won a free hamburger with purchase of fries and a soft drink at participating restaurants!"

But fun? A game? Entertainment? Does anyone at Blizzard still care about that?

I am certain that a version of the RMAH will show up in anything they release in the future, and I would not be shocked in the least to see it show up in WoW over the next year or two.

    "Loading screens" are not "instances".
Your personal efforts to troll any game will not, in fact, impact the success or failure of said game.

I'm actually kinda with the OP.

Anyone here who still reads books should check out Ready Player One. IMO Titan could be sort of a very primitive non-VR OASIS.

    Unsubstantiated speculation:

One aspect of Titan will be a themed lobby that allows players to jump into worlds created by third party developers.  As a virtual space it could include housing and guild spaces that allow players to show off their accumulated trophies/achievements/etc.

The other aspect of Titan will be the "demo world" created by Blizzard to help populate the lobby and create an audience for the developers using the "Titan system."

Thnx but no thnx! I'd rather pay the monthly fee to a game and have fun. Instanced lobbies.... no open persitant world, my decision affects nothing, same tired bg's and a P2W mode! Nope sorry blizzard you had a good tract record with me up until a little after BC!

Below is where we can disscuss and come up with new ideas for Sandparks!

    1. Sci Fi / Futuristic
    2. Avatars play together in multiple mini games
    3. Hang out in large social hubs that resemble a 3d facebook
    4. Revenue generated through avatar customization and mini game enhancements
    5. Longevity through adding new mini games and social hubs
    6. It will be heavily themed and very casual/simple

If Titan flops, it will be very difficult for me to differentiate between Tortanic and Titanic.

Enter a whole new realm of challenge and adventure.

This is the one MMO I know about but know nothing about. But we still have a few years before it releases. We all wish it will be great but not holding my breath.

I have no clue what Titan will be and neither have anyone of you.

The 3 facts that OP is basing the predictions on could be true for anything from Wow in space to facebook game to a mainstream sandbox.

This kind of speculation is worthless, let´s hope Blizzard show us a little soon (after all is it supposed to launch in 2 years even if I am even more critical to that than OPs predictions, my guess is 2016).

Sounds interesting but not something I would even remotely be interested in.

I do not like RTS's, and I do not like Top Down Isometric views.

Im still holding out hope, slim as it may be, for Titan to be a Sandbox/Themepark hybrid with open ended class systems and huge mega worlds to explore but rife with player made sandboxxy features.  Ohh well one can dream right?

Titan will be set in medievil times, with 3 factions waging war over 6 relics.  You'll be able to capture keeps and towers which your guild can upgrade.  There will be siege warfare, and will primarily be RvRvR based.  There won't be too many quests, and will have over 20 classes, each unique to thier faction.  Also there will be about 11-12 races, also unique to thier faction...I think you get where I'm going by now...

    I can dream can't I? :)  Oh wait, that's TESO :)

    um... ok..

Titan will be set in the future, and will be based on Mech combat, there will also be the ability to play as Mobile Command Centers, Artillery, and Support role.  You can fly around in space with your gund...I mean mech, and battle others, do public quests, player-made content.
