Sometime a picture is worth a thousand words.

Personally i think the second picture is way better quality mainly because seams between surfaces are gone and the overall picture look more "natural", and yes bloom is a bit too much in my opinion too. The first do look more "photo realistic", but i'm not sure it's better quality due to the very apparent seams. Sorry guys to go against the stream of ideas in this post :/

More people clicked like on the one with bloom on so i guess most people prefer it that way. =p at the same time there are some places where it makes absolutely no difference.

Found 1 more with pp effects off:

imageimage Keep in mind those are jpg screenshots and they lost a lot of quality =/

Edit. Btw. turning those effects off also turns off those green outlines when you select something. Some people didn't like it. I wish ANet would allow us to turn off bloom but leave other efects on. Or maybe even allow us to set the intensity of it (like in Ryzom).

Nvidia Inspector allows you to change the behaviour so Changing the Rule to 'Override Application Settings' you can then set your AA within the profile and it makes a hell of a difference.

Make Sure to turn off FXAA in game though....

Find the Tool here :- http://downloads.guru3d.com/NVIDIA-Inspector-1.9.6.6-download-2612.html

I have a GTX460 @1080p 16x AA, with 16x AF runs at 40 -60 fps all the time and looks amazing.

I have inspector doesn't matter because there is no AA bit compatable with GW2 that I have found. The engine does not support any override settings without some sort of forced bit put there you can change it all you want won't make any difference. Go into the guild wars 2 profile in inspector and look in the first column and you have AA compatiblility you need a bit code in there for any override settings to work. The game needs a compatable bit so nothing you force under that will do anything for you in game. AF should work though since that isn't reliant on any bit and generally works with most games. Rift has same issue although I did find a bit that worked in Rift but it killed performance. Sometimes bits will work from other games but generally performance is really bad... I did read on one forum someone had success with 0x00401240 but can't say if the source is reliable or not will test if we get another stress test or at launch

Yeah, I much prefer the first one as well, but I understand that some prefer the second, which is why it's good there is the option to chose which you prefer. For me, the game looks better with Post Processing off and it performs a little better as well, so it's a win/win.
