I would say no unless you really want the items, most of which were one time use if I remember right. It might be a better idea to get the normal version, and then spend the difference in price in the cash shop and get items of your choice.
(On a mobile device, can't edit original post.) The only permanent things digital deluxe had over normal is a Rytlock mini and an elite skill that is most likely a weaker counterpart of a similar skill.
I don't know what the cool down on the Mistfire wolf is and you get the mini pet but the other items 1 time use. You do get hero band with +2 to stats but you'll quickly out-level that and grab a karma item (or player crafted item) that gives higher bonuses to the primary skills you are building on ( I think I was using junk/no item until the 2nd zone then bought karma rings).
I would say that no, it's not required and you will do perfectly fine without the deluxe edition.
Edit: Forgot the golem banker. 5 days use but other than a dungeon run (if you can summon it in a dungeon) you can be back at your bank and then back to killing with 2 map clicks and a few silvers, even from the farthest reaches of the maps...
- The tome of influence will be handy to give a headstart to my guild in order to get a guild bank as soon as possible.
HOly crap, I forgot all about the tome of influence. I'm totally going to use that to boost my own personal guild, since most of my friends and I are going to rotate helping out each other's personal guilds to give eacho ther access to an extra 50 slots of storage.
Nope, you'd get more out of buying the base edition and then use the extra you would have spent on the deluxe to buy gems. Then you can choose exactly what you want for your extra money. An extra bag slot or two is worth more than anything in that deluxe edition.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I personally wouldn't buy the Digital Deluxe Edition...
... but all that stuff came with my collector's edition. I'm in it for the physical stuff.

Extra bag slots are pretty useless at least until level 30+... I never ran out of space during the beta week ends, and I was only using 8 slot crafted bags. With the ability to send crafting mats directly to the special page of your bank, buying bag slots is a waste of money in my opinion.
The only thing I would consider worth paying for for now is additional character slots if you plan to reserve names for all classes of the game.

I'd say no. I was going to purchase the Deluxe Edition, but its stuff is really underwhelming for 20$. Or 20 euros where I live, because we all know 1$ = 1 euro.

An extra bag slot is never useless, even if it's just simply convenient. You just said yourself that it would be good to have one after level 30. I'm not saying you need more bag space than the default but I'd rather have that than a few temp or fluff items for $20.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Mmhh sorry, where did I say that? Don't search, because I never said it.
I never passed level 30 during the betas, so I can't talk about what happens at higher level, but since bag sizes go up to 20 slot bags, I'm pretty confident that you won't need more slots past 30 than before 30.
If anything, I'd rather buy additional bank space, which is account wide, than additional bag slots, which are per character... Or just buy an additional character slots, and you can roll one more class. Way better value for the money.

for me it is, 1k influence will help your guild get a good start, the pet is fun, the elite skill will be nice to have so you dont panic to unlock an elite right at 30(they cost a lot of skill points!) and if you like PVP the glory is also nice. Ultimately it is if the 20 bucks is worth it to YOU.

Buying an extra character slot is way better value for your money vs. buying a bag slot or bank tab.
There's a reason why mules are a long and time honored tradition.
A new character by default has more space than a mere bag slot could add even wtih a 20 slot bag. With all their slots filled with 20 slot bags, they have way more space than a bank tab AND a bag slot put together.

Well I didnt need to search since I read it properly the first time "Extra bag slots are pretty useless at least until level 30+... "
Anyway, what the hell are you arguing for. My point isn't about the need for bags, I only used that as an example. I DON'T think you need more bags.
My point is that what you get from the deluxe edition is pointless whereas you could get more useful stuff with that money from the gemstore instead, whatever that may be.

You can search again, in no part of that post (or any of my posts) I said that extra bags slots were needed past level 30. You just transformed what I said to fit your agenda.
All the rest is only opinions we were sharing, cheer up man

Erm, where did I say you said they would be 'needed'? I ain't the one transforming things here. You did not state that the only reason you wrote "until level 30+" was because you hadn't got past that so you didn't know. Without that context it definately reads like you were suggesting they are useful 'after' level 30. Damn right I'm arguing semantics, lol.

I bought DDE, would've gone for CE if the statue wasn't a charr (why of all things depicting GW2 they had to choose that warmongering furry race *sigh).
Although the extra items for DDE are a bit underwhelming to me and not really worth the price difference I still bought it because I'm a big fan of the game, there's no sub and I don't intend to spend money on the cash shop for some time (probably until I run out of character slots) so wanted to show my love by voting with my wallet.
Not that the bonus items are useless, the consumable ones will help out getting started, I love miniatures and they are only obtainable from cash shop and a few from HoM, the elite skill to summon a pet will be situationally usefull (and fun) especially since it's usable on the non-pet classes. It's just I normally wouldn't pay 20 extra for those items, but I can only advice to decide that for yourself, the value of those items is very personal and also depending on your budget.

Then the question here is useless, because if I have for example ..."Need for Speed" (one of them) with a DLC paying 4 dollars to get one new car, yes, many can buy it just because they like that car. But is it really like that? When I'm saying 20 $ are too much, I'm talking about if the content really worth that price, exactly the same that happens with many DLC nowadays where companies just try to sell content with a high price to the people who can simply desire something in the game. Of course he can do whatever he wants with his money.
I considered the DDE but went with SE instead. Saved the 20 dollars for gems - character slots. We'll have to see if I want bank slots but I might just buy that with in game time.
Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play?
I was going to purchased the DD Edition a few months ago but decided to get the standard edition instead and with the extra cash saved I bought GW1. I think the HoM rewards are a lot better and I also got to enjoy Gw1 for 3 months. now sitting on 30 HoM points I can say it was money well spent.

The hero band is part of all prepurchases, even the normal version...
I took the digital deluxe for a few reasons:
- The tome of influence will be handy to give a headstart to my guild in order to get a guild bank as soon as possible.
- Pets are fun.
- The unique elite skills is cool too, no matter how useful it is - it can be a simple "show off" skill.ANet also said that you will be able to change your normal account to a digital deluxe one later if you change your mind.
