MoP or TSW who will have the best raids?

bcbullybcbully Member EpicPosts: 11,843

I was (85% pvp now adays) a progression raider for 3 years in WoW. I also was a top 20 wolrdoflogs affliction lock. I know WoW raiding. I've heard Funcom makes some of the best raids in the business though.

Recently I've gotten the itch to raid again after nearly 2 years of being anti pve and anti damage meters. I think this is because of the TSW ability wheel. I'm itching to compete again. I want to put my best builds up against other players best builds.

Will there be a battle for endgame PvE this fall? Who will have the better raids?

Is this a serious question? I'm no fan of WoW but I think everyone and their mom agrees wow is the reigning king of raids, that's all i ever hear Wow fans talk about on forums and at work. TSW will need years under its belt before it's able to compete in that aspect imo.

I think bcbully is stretching his love for tsw a bit too far.

In WoW when speaking of raiding people speak of the current tier. WoW's current tiers will be head to head with TSW's current tiers.

Explain Kuppa. Mists 1st tier of raiding will be head to head with TSW's first tier.

    Why is this to far?

How in the world do you know that? TSW raids aren't even out. This is 100% speculation, there isn't really anything to discuss and if we were to discuss of course WoW's raid are better. Because they actually exist.

What we do know is that AoC had some of the most challenging raids in the business. TSW raids will be here in about 20 some days.

Remember only 1 tier is ever relavant in WoW. I'm not talking about raiding BWL ffs ;)

I think in order to judge WoW raids side by side with TSW raids, at least 1 person on the planet (excluding people testing them under an NDA) should go through the TSW raids at least once.

Because TSW doesn't have raids and WoW does.....pretty simple really. If we want to go even more hypothetical we could say GW2s future raids that they havent even announced might be in the running for best raids in the industry. The point Im trying to make is to at least wait until they are here before "debating" which one is better. This will just end up beign a WoW vs TSW thread.

The only reference we have for TSW raids is AoC.

AoC is not TSW. For that matter Im sure we could connect AoC raids to other mmos aside from TSW by degrees of seperation.

It doesn't matter what you think is "relevant". You would have to consider the entire raiding exp in WoW.

Sorry Kuppa you can't include GW2 here. They have no plans for raids.

I have raided a lot in AoC and the raids there were really really good. With the way the decks are so flexible in TSW, I think they can create more varied Raids in TSW than they could with AoC. In AoC you could never have a Raid encounter that needed 50% healers or 50% tanks or 50% debuffers, because you wanted the raids to be viable for all 12 classes. In TSW they have a lot more freedom.

If they will be "better" than Pandaria Raids? I have no idea. I haven't played WoW and probably never will. I am kind of guessing that the 20-man raid in TSW will be pretty hardcore, more so than the raids in WoW. If that makes them better or not is up to preference.

My point exactly, TSW doesnt have raids either. Wait until they come out, then debate away. This is just a WoW vs TSW thread instead of the topic you are trying to establish because there is no foundation to base any discussion on.

So then the first question you should be asking is...

Will TSW raids be as good as AoC raids?

And that question is also unanswerable because no one has seen a TSW raid.

If you follow the logic bcbully is using that will answer what he is trying to ask. Which I still think doesn't really answer it since saying TSW and AoC raids will be the same in quality or fun is also not proven.

Right, that is literally his question at this point. Which has better raids, WoW or AoC?

And then he just assumes TSW will have the exact same quality level and "fun factor" or whatever as AoC raids.

Isn't this whole thread an assumption? You are assuming that AoC raids will represent TSW raids.

Arn't we all assuming Mist will have the same quality as Cata?

    Now your generalizing my question....

We can do this all day. Can we stop now? I'm stopping.

No. I don't even know what you're talking about. The WvW thing in GW2? No, I think a WvW system and a PvE leveling system are too different to compare anyway.

But this thread is really about raids in TSW and WoW. It's just better not to bring up GW2, once again, no?
