You guys can go back to Valley of Strenght with you newly created panda bear and level all the way to 85 before seeing the new continent with your new panda race. Then you can start farming honor in AFK valley and do another 5 versus 5 toll barad style fail pvp zone. Dont act like WoW is better as GW2, you may have more asian players to make up that 9.1 million players, but the WoW EU devision has 70% death servers atm.Hilarious that WoW players still think their game is better
A thread about ANET making a joke on Blizz's expense and this so called "Elite member" use this opportunity to shoot a post of ultimate hateWell done... Forums do not yet possess the technology to measure the quality of one's posts. It will be implemented in next patch

No idea if GW2 is a WoW killer, but it's for sure a TSW killer - the TSW players spend more time posting "stuff" here than playing their "oh, so great" game ;-)

Hilarious that WoW players still think their game is better
This is a terribly inappropriate reaction that is not even on topic.
I think it's great that they have a culture of competition at ANet. Without letting things get out of hand, competition is great for quality. I know it's not the party line, but I hope both games do very well over the next few years. I'd love to live through an era of MMORPG greatness before I die
I don't mind developers teasing each other that way.
Of course, it says nothing about the game itself. GW2 fans will interpret it as "GW2 is so awesome, they know they will finish off Wow!", and WoW fans will interpret it as "GW2 developers are so desperate, they'll do just anything to get some more attention, even if it's quoting more successful games!".
Or if you like both games you'll be like cool now onto playing moar games.

I think that is a very poor interpretation of what the tombstone said.
I think a better interpretation is that the ANet staff knew someone personally, who died of boredom doing the same raid week after week, thus a tribute was made. It's all a very sad story, I'm sure.
Originally posted by Rayshe Seriously, does no one else see this as cheesy. im waiting for them to stand up and say "this isnt Azeroth anymore" like rift did.
Well... It's pandaworld now! Soon enough there'll be more playable races like tigers, snakes, rats and everything will be painted in rainbow colors for kids around the world to enjoy it!
lol
It would be cheezy if they were advertising stuff like that like rift did (it's even more desperate advertising knowing that rift didn't really succeed as they expected)... So I think it's fine for now? xD

These symbols come from the New Krytan alphabet and when translated you get:
"I played WoW and look at me now, if only I had been like you and stuck to playing Guild Wars 2."
Credits go to Jalinar for translating. Credits go to ANet for making this happen. Credits go to Alot for creating such a sensationalist thread. Credits go to littleXuro for ninja'ing me by 14 minutes. Credits go to (input name of easily enraged GW2 hater) for making this thread live (and die).
It's funny on one level, and very insensitive on another level.
You have to remember people HAVE actually died playing WoW, including children and babies, so making jokes about it doesn't really appeal to me.
But end of the day, marketing is usually very insensitive and brutal. I seriously hope this has been photoshopped.
Also this isn't very original, it's been done before -
"You're not in Azeroth anymore!" Rift.
"Global Agenda: No Elves." Global Agenda.
Marketing like this only deters people who play and like WoW from playing the game. Which is a big mistake, with WoW making up nearly half of the western MMO playerbase.
I'll still get Guild Wars 2, but the above is just my opinion.

What? Really?! Holy crap that's sad.
"WoW is my god, must defend against infidels!" I swear some people in MMOs just don't belong in them.
Lmao, calling the kettle black coming from gw2 fans

That's the kicker, I'm not. I may play GW2 sooner or later but I'm not really a full-on fan. I'm more of a burnt-out MMO goer that's just spending time waiting for something different and poking fun at particular groups of people and the devs they follow. Mostly due to bad experiences, and if GW2 get's that way too for me, they'll be on the list.
In truth though, I am very much tired of WoW. Not going to lie, some aspects of it I DO like (miss holiday events) but I'm just tired of the game and some of the blizzlings that are in it.
You know what's fun about chaos? I do, but I won't tell.

Look up Agenda 21 as well.

Rift publicly said "we are not in Azeroth anymore"...... then everyone came back to Azeroth
no biggie
edit: anyways, WoW is not dead for me, just i dont like subs. Ill play GW2 forever, and MoP on and off

+1, mainly because they put a legitimate language in the game to be translated.
