I AM CURRENTLY TRYING THE SAME WITH MINE, I MADE HER A PROMISE THAT IF I SAT THROUGH A FREAKING GLEE MARATHON THAT SHE WOULD PLAY THE NEWB AREA WITH ME!!!!!
Some sacrifices are simply too severe.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

the problem most men have with trying to get their significant others to play games is usually one of these.. brought to you by a gaming woman.
A. you dont have the patience to teach her how to enjoy the game... I see this so much. People who are new to games will NOT get it right away.. but if help by the hand a bit and tought how to make it fun for THEM... win! BTW this works even for those who have poor coordination.. hell it worked for my mid 50's mother!
B. she just does not enjoy games.. but find out why. It could be a case of A.. hurt pride hurts even for us womens If she just doesnt enjoy them.. time to drop it but you need to find out what she does like and make some time for that.. then she might be won over when all seems lost.
C. you dont ask properly or make it appealing to her. Show her how much fun you have, get her to watch fun fights and the CLOTHES, THE PRETTIES! This will show her that there is something not just for you but for HER.

I guess it is me but I don't care if they want to play as well. If they do cool, but I'm not going to push it on them. If they're interested or want to watch and find out about it then I'm happy to show or help teach tehm. If not then no biggie.
Besides, sometimes it is rather nice having separate interests one can do on their own. Least to me.
