i'd say this is pretty consistant with a good half of the forum goers on this site TBH

WvW (Which my server finally got into) is fun for a little but but just gets rather repetative after so long.

    I guess in a nutshell.

    Casual Gamer: Satisfied.

    Hardcore Gamer: Unsatisfied.

Makes it in the middle of the road for me. While its true a game only tends to go down hill the more you play it, I'm hoping it might turn a new leaf for me stay at least as a game I can pick up and play occasionally, hopefully for at least an hour a day.

Oops!  I knew I was going to forgot an option.

Oh well.  I at least think the poll is pretty balanced, but I forgot 'neutral'.  Other than that though, I at least think the poll pretty much doesn't lean towards one or the other.  Leaving out neutral doesn't effect that too much. :)

    So far:

    8.6 % dissatisfied vs 67 % satisfied

I'm happy to see this results, I heavn't played myself yet (have to wait 6 more hours).

It's funny how many negative posts are in this thread compared to the positive result of the poll.

i'd try a little crafting or pvp.. if you really don't want to do either of those you can head over to another races area and play a bit in their zones to get xp as well:)

Most people are playing the game. I had to quit playing for a bit to spend time with the family.

So, I thought I'd use a poll, since it's hard to gauge just how many people are satisfied/unsatisfied just by reading random posters.  So, how happy are you with GW2 so far?

It's always good to see any game succeed...but I'm just shocked after playing this that anyone likes it...the animations are yuck...gameplay is blah, diversity is weak...just amazes me.  PVP is nothing more than zerg in the wvw and bg's over and over.  I was excited for tourny's,...but they are bgs.  I thought they'd be a 5v5 deathmatch...all around sucks imo.  Either or...seems to be a success to other people...so, glad to see that.

There is bugs, dont get me wrong. As far a smooth launches go? Its in the top 5 IMO and WoW never made top 5 in my books. For a new MMO I think they are on track. Sure a lot of things to fix but its what MMOers should come to expect with any new MMO. There is enough working it feels like a solid game. Very happy!!!

Voted Extremly satisfied. I dont have any negative things to say about the game so far. Im level 23 and have taken my time with the game. So far Ive only done a few of the starter area's, and all the cities. Just walking around, doing all the hearts, getting all the vista's etc. Done like 8 story quests or something like that. There was some problems the first day, with servers being down for a few hours, but I expected some launch issues so im not bothered with that at all.

Playing an Asura Elementalist. Really enjoing my class. Lot of different ways to play the class, depending on what items you use, and what spec you choose to go with (Fire, lightning, water, earth).

  • I dunno about this poll isn't bad in that verbiage like this serves a real purpose.  And I understand that it basically allows people some cognitive dissoance so that excitement and fun and outway the issues and in some sense since this is the way people actually behave as well it is a better predicter.

However I have to say "Extremely satisfied" is not an objective things to be saying.  There are serious issues at the moment.  Guilds are behaving wierd , login stuff is spotty, trade post is borked, and WvW is seeing bugs that didn't exist before as far as server swithcing is concerned.

I have been able to do everything I wanted and more.  I put down satisified as I expect trouble in a head start and there are real issues still.  I guess I am extremely satisified but that is more because I got lucky than the overall state of things at the moment.

The game has just sucked me up even more than I thought it would. I woke up this morning, logged in, and bam it's already 3 a.m... I've redone the entire Norn starting area that I played during beta to lvl 20, with the same class, and it was still a lot of fun. That kind of tell you how non boring the game is. And I didn't even touch WvWvW yet ! (but did in Beta and it was indeed excellent)

Seriously, all hail the new king of MMOs. Nuff said.

Man, I wish that happend for me. I sat down at my computer and felt like I was logged into macola at work as far as excitement goes. It hasn't grabbed me at all. But I am going to keep grinding in hopes that something interesting happens and I didn't just light money on fire.

I guess it depends on what kind of gameplay you prefer ;) Personally, I love a good mix of strategy, action, exploration, socializing and progression. Which is exactlly what GW2 has offered to me from the start.

What class do you play ? They made really different gameplays, some of them could not fit to some gamers tastes, while some others much more. For example I know I would have been more bored with a Ranger than with my Thief.

edit, a small list to fully enjoy the game :

    - get a world explorer mindset

    - take your time, don't rush anything

    - explore your class mechanics, it's when you start to master your class that fights become really exciting

    - talk to NPCs, a lot of them can trigger dynamic events that you wouldn't have suspected

    - have some fun with group questing, this can trigger some massive battles (groups attract groups)

    - forget that it's a MMO, just take it as a new game, without searching how better/worst it is than any other one

    - don't force yourself to do things. If you want to skip a heart/event, skip it. (I skipped the crafting part myself, because I just wanted some action this week end) This is how you will build your progression into the game, and how it will make it so special to suddenly find a secret place while wandering, for example.

    - don't take the whole thing too seriously. It's built around having fun. It's built around wandering, trying stuff, not working on filling a checklist like all WoW-clones.

    TL;DR : it's really a game made for wanderers.
