All of the markers are for the benefit of the casual gamer. Op, sounds like you sshould give Darkfall a try.
I could just imagine that... "Waaaaaaah it takes too long to max out all my skills. Waaaah i get ganked every time Im trying to level them. Waaaaaaah this is bullshit i keep getting my gear taken from me. Waaaaaaaah I cant find the locations of any of the stuff I need to make better gear for my character"
I kind of wish they wouldnt scale me down in PvE, or at least make it optional. It really mitigates the feeling of growing in power when I go to a low level place and I'm just sligthly more powerful than the mobs instead of curb stomping them left and right. It makes leveling feel like one big 'access quest' opposed to growth.
I still chuckle at people thinking this game requires some intensely higher amount of skill though. Once you learn dodging makes you invulnerable and manage the resource properly that's basically the only thing that adds more 'skill' compared to WoW and similar MMO's. Definitely doesn't require more 'skill' than DDO, TERA or DCUO, less in fact.

So you are saying you played the game long enough to drain your energybar, meaning 2 dodges. Well then yes, for those 3 seconds you were indeed invunerable.
Go do the first dungeon, then come back and tell me it it's as easy as anything out there.
To many people judge the game from shallow testing. Sad. But hey, the rest of us are busy actually playing so no worries. Well..unlike now, when I don't have time to play
