I find it surprising that one could level to almost max level without seeing any bugs. Seeing that there seems to be 1-2 bugged DE's in every zone 50+ and up.
i dunno which game you're playing but i've had 0 issues since their last build. Unlike other game companies when they put out an update it sticks and doesn't cause extra bugs to occur. The login server downtime....exactly ten minutes. seriously gonna complain about something go complain about some other games full days server down times.
when the game restarts they always give you in game warnings for three minutes prior to the game restarting. it's never been any other way. It was that way for the login server restart as well.
I'm not saying people can't say negative things about this game but please quit with the misinformation threads they are getting REALLY old now.
Why is that everytime someone makes a topic about bug encounters, broken DE's and other bugged features i see same 2 or 3 people on very first page saying 'i am X lvl and i never encountered these bugs". I swear it is same posters every time.
Does that make OP's experince less important? we already know not everyone is going to encounter same bugs but to say i am lvl 70 or 80 and i didn't encounter any bugs at all is just being dishonest..
It about equally as dishonest as encountering a few bugs and proclaiming the game is in shambles, which simply is not true. This game is extremely polished for an MMO launch. Don't get me wrong, I hate it when anyone makes any claims to the extreme. I dislike players who proclaim that everything is perfect (it's not) as much as I dislike players who proclaim that the game is in ruins, or a "buggy mess" (it's not.) Though admittedly, I probably dislike the latter group a bit more, mostly because I feel they are further from the actual truth.
Neither argument helps their respective cases, and instead just looks and sounds ridiculous. But more, both arguments are doing a diservice to truth, which should be the only thing they are concerned about. Instead, it just sounds like they each have an agenda and carefully skew their presentation of the game's state to accomodate that agenda.
The OP is not lying he's correct and I also hate those people saying nonono you're lying, you're a troll, blablabla so cut it out many people are experiencing these problems just because you didn't doesn't mean there isn't.
Now, my opinion regarding DE's bugging out is regarding Anet servers are expiercing framerate issues that makes events skip or skip parts of their routine.
I create games with a program when I'm bored and one game I was trying to do was going to have dynamic events throughout the game. I got many problems each different every time I play tested because sometimes it would skip something from x and sometimes from y, sometimes even work flawlesy it was very confusing and frustrating.
So to conclude Anet needs to upgrade their computers because it's clear they are not handling the amount of players in each zone resulting in events bugging out.

I'm sure it compares with ArenaNET's client/server infrastructure... ;-)

Based on GW2's launch, I'd say they could benefit from a copy of that book!

And as I suspected a poster that can't get criticism on the "world greatest mmorpg" but I'll bait.
Like previous poster said if current launch problems are any indication they indeed need to check if their servers are handling the load as from my observation the DE problems could be linked with that.
And this time please read that I'm not saying it's that but could be the reason so before posting more spam pictures to close threads that are not hating but having actual sense you read more carefully
It is a fun game. Across my characters however; I have run into a substantial amount of bugged events. I mean it is not something that is shrugged off. It has an impact on gameplay. I prefer choice, not running the same non-bugged DEs over and over and over. I already have to run them more than I like without the other DEs in the area being bugged to hell and back. Being new has certainly lost its excuse appeal for me. At this point every new game is like ground hogs day (some worse than others.) Bill Murray should be present at launches. It is equivalent to quests simply not working. For some it seems a minor issues. For me it has been a problem. I noticed switching to overflow helps, but only sometimes.

Today, events are bugging out on a large scale, including major zone events like the Claw of Jormag.
I swear they spent 5 years on the 1-30 game and 5 months on the rest . It also feels like they never tested anything for large amounts of people.
Memories of AoC, just not quite as bad.
Yeah the claw has been down on our server for a couple days now. It's a pretty boring event anyways tbh. I think people only do it because of the chest it spawns when you beat it.
GW2 can be many things but certainly not a buggy mess. It's been very stable and so far I've seen only a couple of bugged hearts/DEs which is normal for a freshly released MMO.
People comparing the game to AoC release really have no clue... The game had no content at all after level 20.
Thats is a blatant lie. To have no content after tortage, would mean that tortage encompassed all of AoC.
To be fair AoC had more end game content at launch that GW2 currently has. As buggy as it was, it was still more than the non-existant end game of GW2. It was also way more challenging than GW2.
Originally posted by prpshrt Yah there's bugs but don't call it a buggy mess. It is week two of the game of a HUGE game.
I would not call it a buggy mess either, but the fact that it's week 2 has little to do with it. There are bugs, I have been impacted, such as my 1st guild was entirely deleted from the game. Poof...Gone! Among issues, some more minor than others.
I agree there is a LOT to be done and game IS very bugged. However, playing this kind of Guild Wars 2 is still 100 times better than playing well-polished WoW.
Originally posted by Quizzical If a game being a buggy mess particularly bothered you, then you wouldn't have picked up a new game so soon after launch.
You're right. I shouldn't expect any level of quality from a product when it is sitting on the shelves for consumers to purchase. Geez, what was I thinking.
I've had over a dozen events bug out on me this week. NPC's clipping into walls, stopping halfway through the route, chests not opening for rewards, and an arena gate closing after an event is over, trapping me inside.
I am enjoying the game, but sometimes the bugs can be infuriating. If you honestly believe nothing is wrong with the game, you aren't playing the same game.
This is why I don't buy mmo's at launch anymore. You all pretty much know better as well. Some of you just don't like to admit it.
If a launch goes well people say, " Wow...I'm really surprised! The launch went so smooth! This is a very pleasant surprise indeed. "
If a launch goes poorly people say, " Man this launch sucks. I hate this. I'm very frustrated. Stupid game. "
So we seem so pessimestic and surprised if it goes well, yet we seem so horribly upset and optimistic when a launch goes poorly. You all know that on average, launches suck, and there will be problems for weeks. Some of you intelligent people that are just super excited go into it knowing and accepting the issues. Other intelligent people would rather wait and play it when its more polished after a couple of months.
Don't do anything with the economic portion of the game. Reports of lost gold/gems during exchange, lost deposits into bank, and auction house woes. Every zone I hit has at least 2 bugged out quest hubs. Don't bother with the Fire Temple Tombs - even if you do manage to kill the Champion mob that clips into the walls, his chest won't open.
Last night, I was randomly disconnected from the server. Surprise! The log-in server was down again and I couldn't log back in to finish an event I was in. Once I did, I was put back into the Overflow and was given zero credit for my work.
I enjoy the game, but there is a LOT of work that needs to be done. This game needed more time to bake in the oven.
I've found that when you have bought items on th Trading Post you can get a delay of about 5 seconds, I suppose some ppl could mistake that delay as losing their items when they may have expected them instantly, otherwise nope haven't suffered anything that could be classes as a bug, and I've been using it constantly since it's been readily available.
As for quest hubs, well I've only managed to get 1 char to lvl 29 since the Headstart (too busy exploring every inch of the game before moving on) so I can only speak about the quest hubs I've encountered and I have yet to find one that won't allow me to advance.
As for random disconnects, yes I've encountered them, but whats odd is that when this has happened everyone else in my household on my router has also lost the internet, so I'm not sure if it's down to my end or NCSoft, I suspect it's my end tbh.
GW2 is one of the better polished releases, Wow for example was in worse shape at the US release and lets not talk about EQ....
Yes, there are bugs even if the ones you are talking about is stuff I never heard of before. Broken escort quests and a few weird things like zombies getting stuck in trees is the worse I seen beside the auction house being down the first 10 or so days.
I am enjoying the game but still: yes the game is buggy. Fact is a fact. It is only 2 weeks old or all games are buggy at start - these are not the arguments the OP is discussing.
Shall I start writing the problems? Nah I think you all know about them you just like defending the game even if it is nothing to defend. They will fix the bugs and the game will be great and I will play it for a long time. Maybe because it has no sub

Strange thing, i never find those bugs...
An ocasional disconnect, thats the worst thing happening to me.
People comparing the game to AoC release really have no clue... The game had no content at all after level 20.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Can't vouch for the OP's experience, but personally I find GW2 one of the most flawless MMORPG launches I've ever seen... and I've seen a few.
In fact, the ONLY thing I've found that wasn't workin in order, was the trading post which goes down from time to time.
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
