Ashen Empires on the rise after new developer company

Ashen Empires (1 of the best MMORPG's ever) has been taken over by IWG at the end of last year.

A lot of players that left game are getting back in game because they hear AE is getting better than ever. Not only the game is getting better, but maybe what is as much as important the costumer support is getting better also. Soon there will be a new update (within a month probably) to make this game even better.

If you like playing MMORPG's than you surely don't want to miss Ashen Empires on your list, not many games let you chose between so many skills as Ashen Empires. 1 warning though...  Ashen Empires is more than just a game, it gets in your blood, within no time it's getting a part of you.

The game is definetly good. It had its ups and downs but the current DEV team looks stable and commited to the game. They've been doing great with bug fixes and stabilizing the game (no lag, no crashes). An update is supposed to be released any time now which should add hundreds of new items and new features to the game. The game offers many choices. You can pvp, you can hunt, you can tradeskill, you can do them all. The community is good especially once you get to know it. The graphics arn't as good as the graphics of other games, but you can do too many stuff and it's too much fun that makes it in my opinion one of the best games around. The future looks bright!

Hey I love games and this is by far the best game I have ever played.  God only knows how many years of my life I have spent playing different games, I need to get a life image.  I have r/l friends who even play now, my best friend said it was the only way she could talk to me!  If you have not done the 7 day free trial you really should, I don't think you will sleep for that week so make sure you have some free time!

The graphics are great, and they also try to keep AE so that low end computers will run the game!  There are constantly new quests and you if you enjoy crafting, like i do, you will love all the cool stuff you can make!

And just wait to see what that update will bring!!!!!!!!!

Ashen Empires is deffinatly a game that is rising from the ashes. TKO almost killed this game. I even left the game due to the poor customer service and all around bad attitude of TKO. As soon as I heard that IWG was taking over the game I was right back to it. This is a game that sucks you in. when you first start playing you kind of cringe at the graphics if you have played any of the huge 3D games out there. but you soon learn that with all that you can do in the game and all that it has to offer you wouldnt want it to be 3D. I have years invested in this game and would suggest it to anyone that asked me for advice about an online game. There is a huge update coming soon and it will enhance the game even more then it already is. TKO almost killed this game but IWG is taking it to a whole new level. Make sure you have tine to burn when you download it to try it out. image

Theres nothing different I can say about Ashen Empires that the others have not said already.  The community is a great group of ppl most of the time.  I've made friends that I will probably have for life through htis game.  As a bonus the game is fun.

For years, many of us have tried to leave Dransik (now Ashen Empires).  This game has survived meager beginnings, hostile takeover attempts, and development team changes, to name just a few.  But it remains alive and vibrant.

One of the main reasons for AE's success is the simplicity of it's interface.  It won't take your breath away with 3d landscapes, panoramic views, and multiple combat viewing angles.  But it will leave you satisfied and immersed in an experience very different from other games.  Most games now have very little difference in appearance.  The engines may enhance your hack and slash experience, or the background may make you think that mist should be coming out of your monitor.  But if you just want a lush landscape or the ability to count the hairs on a monster's head, then you are more of a console gamer than a mmorpg afficionado.

Ashen Empires immerses you in a world where your interaction with others truly shapes your development.  And this isn't interaction with npc's, but with other players.  You have the ability to jump in for a quick solo hunt, or stay for hours in a group.  You aren't limited with a static world or static quests that make your gameplay redundant.  The community infuses AE with life and excitement.

And that's probably the biggest reason for AE's success.  The community.  The game allows each person to become known in his or her own right.  You can be looked upon with respect and admiration for your skills and accomplishments on the battlefield.  You can be sought after for your ability to craft special weapons or armor.  You can be known for your prowess in battle as a support mage, sustaining warriors with great healing powers.  Or you can be feared and loathed as an evil opportunist.  Whatever you choose, you are not isolated and alone in this world.  You are a part of it.

And with the update that is just around the corner, our world is going to get even bigger, even brighter, even better.  New items, new spells, new monsters, new lands, new dynamic quests, just to start.

And finally, AE is blessed with an incredible development team.  This is not a totally new team.  It's a team that has been working on/with this game for years.  The development team brings experience from some incredibly successful games, as well as other projects, and they have dedicated themselves to not only work tirelessly to bring us the most exciting gaming experience available, but they've also demonstrated the desire to communicate with us while developing it.  We have enjoyed a very healthy relationship with the development team over the past few months.  Many discussions have occured on the public forum, and many suggestions have been taken to heart and accepted as logical and necessary for the continued success of the game.

If you want to be part of a dynamic world where you really can make a name for yourself, you need to consider Ashen Empires.

I too love this game. Most of the community is absolutely shaking with anticipation of the coming DS update. image

Some of the boss monsters are impossible to "solo" right now and there are promises of more that will even take entire guilds to bring down.

At the same time, the game is also geared for the loner.

IWG's AE all the way! image

I agree with every other poster thus far about Ashen Empires.  I have been a part of the community since the original beta of the game debuted as Dransik under the company Asylumsoft.  For financial reasons they were left with no choice but to sell to TKO whom,  after a brief flurry of initial activity promptly began running the game into the ground by a cessation of all updates, severely under funding their customer support and so on.  Both chapters (the good and the bad) of Ashen Empires however are now firmly in the past and with the appearance of IWG on the scene to include some of the original developers from Asylumsoft, the game has been nurtured not only back to good health but has seen an amazing revival of the old community that was perhaps its greatest asset now flocking back in great numbers along with a new pilgrimage of fresh bright-eyed and enthusiastic players.

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The strength and primary reasons for its addictive factors  lays primarily on four major pillars:

Community: While I’ve tried several MMORPGs over the years, none has compared or even come close to Ashen Empires (AE) players are approachable and helpful with an environment that is conducive to friendly chats and the regulars that populate IWG’s message boards are overall quite friendly and helpful.

Skill Flexibility:  No other game have I played where a single character has more options in trade skills, battle skills and magery, available to them then AE.  Some 45+ skills with many multi-tiered trade skill steps involved in such things a blacksmithing (mining, smelting, forging) to farming (foraging for seeds, planting, harvesting) to woodworking, (chopping trees, milling the logs, crafting items from the lumber) and so on.  You can become anything you like with no limitations save the amount of work you wish to devote to it and I for one love that personal freedom.

The Team: Iron Will Games developers and their support staff are truly the best I’ve seen in terms of actually communicating with their players on a REGULAR basis, and by regular I mean devs actually POST interactively on a near daily basis.  They listen to player feedback, the support E-mails are actually answered in most cases within 24 hours _by Devs_ and GMs in game are fair, professional, friendly and responsive to issues that come up in game.   They also regularly participate in both their own events as well as help with player-run events and are often active on the message boards.  Overall it makes for a very nice environment when you know the people running/representing the game are looking out for you and listening.

Simplicity:  The interface while not 100% streamlined in every faucet just yet, is still quite friendly and simple to use – I’d describe it as very ‘clean’ overall.  With isometric graphics that don’t bury you in an over stimulated 3D environment and also not requiring high end  computer resources (or Internet connectivity) you are left with a nice comfortable environment in which to chat, trade skill, combat, quest, and so on to your heart’s content.  This simplicity, the forth cornerstone if you will, should come as a refreshing change from the cluttered world of the 3D ‘eye candy’ crop of ‘bleeding edge’ games now pervasive on the market.

In short, this game is a rising star with near unlimited potential that is well worth your trial with a promise to steal many hours of your game time as its addictive nature begins to take hold of your soul. :)   Happy gaming.

and all of those posters have under 5 post count . . . not that i'm implying someone's trying to pull the ol' make-the-game-look-like-theres-a-lot-of-hype-around-it-by-creating-multiple-accounts-and-posting-as-if-lots-of-people-are-excited-about-it-on-all-the-different-accounts scheme or anything. I mean its not like more than half those accounts were created today or anything right?

Ummm, you need to stop right now. image

It's apparent that you are only one person, registering new accounts over and over, and just replying to yourself as a "different" person.

Whoever this TKO company is, they need to look into firing you for making your company look pathetic.

"Oooooo! Look at me! I'm a gamer like the rest of you! *whisper* I hope they don't find out I work for the company, hehe, stupid gamers."

Actually, it's proving how foolish you are. If you think that the new registers are NOT the same person (and most likely working for this TKO company), then logic proves that you are either blind/stupid/foolish, or you are in fact, the same person as the others. Seriously, stop it before you run your game into the dirt. image

As I stated in my post I have played this game for years and I know for a fact that all of these posters are players of the game. We just wanted to get the word out that this game is on a major come back after TKO took it to the bottom of the barrel! Please do not accuse these people of wrong doing when they are trying to do something good for a game that they truly love and enjoy playing!!!

Not true.  Our attention was simply drawn to the site today by a member of our community and we were eager to speak up about the game.  Look at the content of these posts in this thread, we may be newly registered but that in no way means our views should count for anything less and the different commentary should be clue enough that we are different individuals.

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

If you choose not to believe that, feel free to look for yourself at the AE message boards: http://www.ashenempires.com/forums/default.asp You can see for yourself that all of us are active and separate players.

EDIT: And if you bothered to actually READ our posts you would know that TKO no longer owns AE but rather, IWG now does which is why we have a new level of enthusiasm for the game now being under new ownership and management.

I can tell you this is not 1 person making many accounts over and over, I can tell you also non of the posters is an employee of IWG, as Magnetic told you, a lot of the posters are active on AE boards (which has a link to www.mmorpg.com on it) .

Anyway, thanks for bumping this up image

You guys are excellent examples of why I rarely post on forums. image

You're seeing an influx of AE lovers due to a link being placed by a player in the AE forums.

If you don't like what you're reading, stfu and move on. Flaming is for the weak minded.
