Well maybe 9 out of 10 is too high, but imo surely deserves at least 8. Said this i see above gw2 only swtor and wow, maybe also rift.

If you dont like the style of action combat, no treadmill game, then GW2 isnt going to appeal to you. Doesnt make the game a bad game, it just means it isnt for you.

The only shooting game I ever liked wes Goldeneye 007 on the N64. That doesnt make every other shooting game bad, it just means that it isnt my type of game. Not many people on here are mature enough to accept that.

It has a uniqueness that is a breath of fresh air to many. That said, every one of these reviewers hasn't got to max level or probably even half that at the time of the review. That's where the game really shows it's pointlessness, alot like every MMO that's released in the past half decade. There is no incentive to level or progress or really do anything once the pretty graphics wear off.

Sorry bud can't take your advice seriously.

Such double standards. Did you ever realiz maybe TSW also isn't for you? but no it is a heaping pile of excrement. Atleast  those who dislike GW2 refrain from posts like these.

The quests aren't sensational at all and while the dynamic events are usually good fun, if they're not bugged of course, they're really not all that spectacular anymore after a while. If you're not into exploration or PvP or simply trying stuff out then you might get burned out on this title fairly quickly since there is no mighty carrot to chase around after.

GW2 has that initial bite of being a different game, changing it up. Unfortunately, it becomes old quick, for me I actually got tired of it 2 hours in my first play through... which btw, is amazing for a no lifer like me who can grind a new game all day long, particualrly MMO launches.

Over-all, a lot of the reviews were initial and not very well thought out nor had much play time to make a good judgement. Look at SWTOR. Sure, we know some people were paid in part to support a good review *glares at you know who* but a lot of that 'good' side of the game was there because people initially playing and it was new. Take that away and all of a sudden it was viewed unfavorably.

High expectations lead to much further heights to fall, so when GW2 doesn't live up to hype at all, it tends to make people crash and burn on it a lot worst then if they had no hype for it at all.

Here we are again... No game get's through this phase, it's a must do! Someone doesn't like said game. People try to defend said game because they like it so they feel they have a divine mission to convince the guy who doesn't like said game to like the game.

Hype as always been a huge problem in the MMO community. It still confuse me how you can rate a game and get so excited about it with only what the devs gives you and some obscur data found on an obscur website.

My point here is that it's normal to not like a game, as it's normal to like a game. We have to accept it. And the OP didn't try to diminish the game potential, just stated what FOR HIM was flawed. I think we have to respect that?

Anyway you can't teach an old dog new tricks... Guess it work here too!

And i might add, that since hype started, games studios have released less and less demo. I loved the fact that i could try a game for like 7 days so i could see if this game we good enough and worth the 60$ they ask me for. But today, game are so hyped well before the launch date as been announced that they don't feel the need to let us try the game before buying... How many lemons have i bought because of this!

Maybe we should rethink this whole system? One of my first idea was that developpers were getting lazy knowing that no matter what, the game will be massively bought at launch date? Less hype and we can get them back to taking a good 5 years before making a game thus giving us the feeling of a well made game... It's not fail proof but at least i would have the feeling of buying a well made product!

No you don't.  Metacritic catalogs every professional review and user reviews as well.  And there are ZERO negative critic reviews out of a whopping 61, and only 127 negative user reviews.

Because YOU don't like a game, YOU are making up this "way more" garbage.  Either you're lying or you're looking at the wrong sites.  MOP has more negative reviews than GW2... but I know how you feel about that game. ;)

Many/most of those reviews are from when the game released in August to early/middle September. Anytime in the 1st 4-5 weeks there were few negatives in ANY forums about GW2. Now the negatives are starting to creep up and make themselves known.

I wonder how many of those 100% positive reviews from the first couple weeks would 're-state' their numbers (if any, there is always that) now that they are at end game (end of THE game as there is no end game).
