You should read the General forums on WoW's site sometime. There are constantlly players posting about why they are leaving because there is no content for a serious RPGer. And people who are not posting about leaving are posting about nerfs, overpowered classes, faults in the honour system, and many more complaints. The game will fail, and when it does I won't be the least bit surprised. Im just glad this game was a present, because if I bought it with my own money I would be very angry.

OMG u mean 100 or maybe even 1000 players have posted that they built 3 characters to lvl 60 in 6 days straight are quiting because there is no content for there no life bastards. There are no numbers on who are what kind gamers and how much they play the game so saying everyone is going to leave the game because they are lvl 60 and have all their epic armour and have run every instance is BS. WoW pulled in 1.5 million subscribers world wide while most other games barley took a dent in subscriptions so theres a good chance alot of them were new subscribers who didnt know if they were harcore gamers or casual gamers so there could be 600, 000 casual gamers in WoW right now who havnt reached lvl 60 yet and wont for another 3-6 months. Or there could be 600,000 lvl 60's running around with nothing to do and are going to quit tomorrow.

These kind of threads are so lame cuz none of u know jack of what is really going on and what the real numbers are to base these asumptions on and have nothing better to do then hate on other games cuz ur game sux and u need to vent. This thread isnt about WoW sucking its about how Hardcore gamerz are hating on a Casual game cuz its smoking every other NA hardcore game out there combind, its the only way they can think of to boost their lame @$$ ego's cuz there game is getting its @$$ handed to them.

Casual MMORPG's are the way of the future u lifeless asshats get used to it.

Edit: Sorry bout the language MOD's was a copy&paste from a post i made on another board and forgot about the speach restrictions here.

How about... 3-6 month lifespan casual mmorpgs are the future?
  • paradymeparadyme Member Posts: 238

Hmmm I dont know.....considering it takes 6-8 months for a casual gamer to play all the content from the initial release of a casual game.

"Most players in World of Warcraft have no reason to engage in long-term socialization. Without socialization, the main draw the game has always been the novelty of the game play. This is so evident that even the world, with its nice variety between zones, doesn’t feel worldly enough: it lacks "epic" and feels like a game."

Precisely what is wrong with this game. I couldn't have said it better.

EQdead is dying. They closed, are closing over 20 servers because of low populations.

Why do people just lie to make a game look bad i wonder?

I quit in 2001 and looking at the EQ1 site now all the servers that were up when i left are all STILL there and a number of ones that i never saw before so must have been added after i left so if anything it has grown.

By telling such a easy to check lie you are only discrediting yourself is all since gasp people can check this with a click of a mouseimage

    The full story is:

EQ is planning in the future to combine many of their servers. Between now and 6-9 months from now they will gradually combine many of their servers together. There was already a thread recently made about this. It is now roughly around page 4 - 8.

EQ2 is taking many players away from EQ1. And also many of the areas in EQ1 are empty because of the increased size of the game world from soo many new expansions.

EQ1 peaked at roughly 440k accounts. It now currently has a solid, solid, solid 200k accounts. EQ2 peaked at roughly 300k accounts. It now has a solid 300k accounts and is still growing.

Even IF EQ1 were to go down to 25k accounts the game will not get shut down. It has been turning out a true profit for too long. Because of the insane profits from EQ.... The game virtually runs itself. It costs almost nothing for SONY to run EQ, to keep EQ up. EQ1 cost 5 million to make. To date hit has made 400 million (conservative estimate) to 1 billion (liberal estimate.) SOURCE: Buisness 2.0 Magazine. Article "The Sorcerer of Sony". The profits of EQ1 have been used to finance 3 more successful MMORPGs - PS, SWG, and EQ2. And to finance the rest of SONY's other online games (like Infantry, etc...). As well as the tons of expansions for EQ1.

battle grounds saves wow for another 5 or 6 months and then blizzard comes out with something else cool and the cycle continues ::::20::

Blizz just needs to implement their PvP system(s), and get their class balance straight.. Beyond that the game is fine as is.
