OP you are so stupid you should be sent to jail IN REAL LIFE. lol

This is a very good system. It is called a risk/reward system for a reason and you just happened to get hit by the big risk bat. If only this kind of system was used in other PvP MMO's out there instead of the current batch of pointless punishment systems.

  • GrayKodiakGrayKodiak Member CommonPosts: 576

It is open world pvp, in that if someone annoys you to the point of rage, kill them or die trying, you can kill anyone...but there may be consequences...

It is not open world pvp in that you can hang around and kill noobs all day long without getting punished, for you to have been stuck in jail for that long you must have gone on a back to back killing spree and have gotten several bounties put on you...which means you were annoying people enough that they felt it in their interest to put hard earned silver on your head to make you stop.

You were making people lives suck to the point that they put a bounty on you, then you got smacked down by someone who was better than you and got put in jail. Your jail time is directly related to how annoying you are, or how rich your victims are.

You could have participated in PvP events that were "sanctioned" and  entirely avoided a bounty, like raiding random peoples carts..escorting carts...spy hunting...bounty hunting...assasin in dungeons...school wars...where people expect pvp opposition but no you wanted to run around and hit random people who were probably lesser skilled and not expecting it...you wanted to gank..which is fine you got to gank 30 times apparently now you are stuck in jail for a day.

Complaints like this are how I know the pvp justice system is working.

I play 4 hours a day, that means that i will be released from prison in 18 real life days, IF i managed to be online all those 4 hours aday, after that i will be executed and i will have halved stats for 24 hour game time. So i'm back to normal in 26 days if i play 4 hours aday.

Unsubscribed soon as i found out. This is clearly not a game for me, but carebares. I'm not going to pay for a game where i cannot function for 26 days. Also, there is no world pvp, only duels. Sure there are guild wars, but wtf... who gives a fuck about guilds, im not even in one. So there is no pvp for me if im unguilded.

I can say that i really enjoyed the sandbox and graphics, but this game is mucking retarded.

    Thanks for reading.

    A) I enjoy the sandbox

    B) I killed 30 people and i got arrested wtf this is unacceptable.

Well played sir. Coz sandbox means it has craftings u c?

Link the advertisement that state AoW offers open PvP without consequences and you'd have a point.  This is a pretty great thread though, keep coming back to it.

There are soooo many ways to kill other players without becoming a murderer.  Do patrols for your school to catch spies, collect bounties, take part in wars.

Random killing leads to jail time.  It makes the game interesting and not just a Multi Player Arena.

Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!

Lmao been there OP. Yeah, I have been there, made a post about it too lol. You killed 30 people >.< I mean it's ok to kill 30 people, but spread it out lol. Don't let your infamy go over 2k.

1st, You can pay your way out, or you can have friends break you out. 2nd Your time will not run if you are logged off, just don't log off. Go to sleep, go to work, w/e you'll be out soon.

The entire game is Wpvp. I have been unguilded up untill a week ago. You just don't go around killing everyone. For example you don't gank a low level while he is planting crops. Pick and choose. Choose wrong,  be prepared to have a bounty placed on you.

Once you get a bounty, that's not the end. If you kill X amount of constibles per 10 silver put on your head, the bounty goes away. Another thing, constables can not place a bounty on you. You can kill as many of them as you want.

I kill a lot of people, but I've learned to do within the "legal parameter" or in around those parameters. Murder (outside of parameters) is not something you do all the time.

gl to you man, hope to see you back soon. Matter of fact pm me, I may have a home for you.

I never bounty someone who wins in a fair fight, if a group decides to go gank squad I may drop a bounty just to thin their numbers for a bit. (or pretty much any goon just out of principle)

For instance we had two people attacking the twilight docks, in suzhou, they were picking people off one at a time and targeting the weaker people, so I just killed them both...great no problem some fighting in a pvp game is all good...but then they came back and resumed the activities, eventually one ressed on sight and got me killed...ok revenge is done..but no they stuck around and just kept being a pain so I dropped a 10 liang bounty on one of them and they quickly left.

The mechanic does what it should do, it stops grief causing pvp...fighting on the docks was fine and win or loose I wouldn't care, but coming back after death time and time again and just being annoying is where most games run into the wall with pvp...the trolls just keep on trolling and you can't do anything about it so you get turned off to the idea of a open world pvp. But this one mechanic puts a stop to that because...depending on how annoying you think they are you can choose how much of your silver you wish to waste on getting them out of your hair...and trust me a 50 liang bounty will attract some pretty hard corp bounty hunters to come looking for the pay out.

You like open world PvP and ganking? Well let's hope you can go toe to toe with the bounty hunters coming to gank you now, either way you are now part of the pvp system and not an annoyance to players who are just trying to board a boat. I mean you have to be pretty annoying for someone to waste the hard to come by silver on when most people know a corrupt bounty hunter is 50% likely to get to you first and give you a good chunk of that liang.

Advertised? I'm pretty sure they advertised jail.  It's no secret that it was a risk.

If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.

This sounded really bad for the game until bcbully explained it better.  Doesn't sound terrible now.. I'm not a big ganker, but there seem to be rules of engagement and I can live with that.  Sounds kind of interesting, in fact.

Hey heres an idea, why dont you instead only pvp the people that dont have penaltys attached to them?   Or are you so hardcore ya just have to kill everything that moves.  Sound like you arnt very good at figuring out how the game was designed and now your complaining about your own failings.

  • AkulasAkulas Member RarePosts: 3,029
Awesome, might have a look at the game then. Capped this month so have to wait for a bit.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

Not sureif it's what the OP intended (the post actually sounds a bit like an attempt at reverse psychology to me), but reading it is actually making me think about trying this game when I wasn't that interested in it in the first place

What can men do against such reckless hate?

  • OnomasOnomas Member UncommonPosts: 1,151
So he griefed 30 noobs at starter towns and got owned by some skilled constables, and pist he cant keep doing it? Sound about right? See a lot of this actualy
  • 13lake13lake Member UncommonPosts: 719
Seriously dude, u can do prison breaks, "PRISON BREAK", bribe your way out, gamble, miracle encouters, all sort of goodies
  • RyowulfRyowulf Member UncommonPosts: 664

Yeah a lot of people cry about thison the forums.  I didn't care much for the game, but the pvp system is something I wish all mmos would copy.

It allows people to pvp, but when they are jerks about it they get paid back in full.  Look at most pvp servers. How many times do you get ganked lvling?

Someone asked is it fair to face this harsh penalty just for killing 30 people.  Since it was must likely ganking lower levels, then yeah.  If a person screws over other players, because its an easy fun? kill then face the music.  People kill newbies because its low risk right? Suddenly a game adds risk and people cry.

There is an easy fix to the op's problem. Delete the character, start over and don't make the same mistakes.

  • OpapanaxOpapanax Member Posts: 973

    To the OP..

No you just can't log in to aimlessly kill people the entire time without any worry for punishment from people if you are that "leet' or w/e that no one can beat you most times.

It's in there to balance the people who just want to slaughter without repercussions. The system isn't perfect but it's not the worst thing out there and not many games these days even take the time to consider implementing such mechanics.

I don't normally say this, but maybe the game just isn't for you and your playstyle..

PM before you report at least or you could just block.

You may be a griefing butthole but I agree with you.  Using game time hours to serve a sentence like that is outrageous.  Not being able to play for 3 days real life time is more than enough punishment for basically any in-game offense not including cheats/hacks.  No way I would put up with that especially if I were a subscriber.  They essentially banned your for a month you have to pay for.....and then expect you to keep paying.

You should know the OP's sentance is not really the average time served. I'd place the average time served somewhere between 1-3 hours.

The OP not only crossed over into the threshold of jail time but more than likely got some type of bounty set on him which would increase his time even more.

Also jail time and prision time are two different types of imprisionment. Jail time is normally shorter and you are able to bribe your way out, and even escape.

Prison time you cannot bribe or pay your way out. Prison time comes when you have been bountied by a player you intiated attack on and killed. If you are up to be executed you also have the chance to escape the beheading an hour before, but you need some fairly strong friends to help you. If you escape then you are not going to have to worry about the beheading and the extra 24 hour debuff.

The OP's case although not completely rare, is one of the more extream cases of being imprisoned. He could've easly avoided such a long sentance if he had chilled a bit.. Killed a few people, maybe find a begger to lower his infamy for him, and then continued on again after his infamy had lowered more..

More than likely, he logged in and just started attacking and killing all the newbies he saw in the starter town, until some guildie of one of his victims came around and put him in his place. Namely prison..

Really not an issue with the system in Age of Wushu but more so problems with the OP's decisions in game..

It sounds like the system is working perfectly. OP was griefing noobs and is now paying the penalty for it.  There should be consequences for killing people who have no chance of fighting back. You're not doing it for the challenge or the loot, you're doing it to ruin their night. Why would anyone sympathize with you?
