  • just to let you all know, the mods, especially the older ones who were forum users first, are banning and deleting all -players, including game bans for posting in topics about this review, and other reviews. i suggest mmorpg users go spam this link on the warz forums, becuase posting this review link in a topic for discussion isnt breaking the forums rules and i and iothers who have been perma banned from the warz forums and now the game it self is waaaaay out of line.''

thats right the MODERATORS of the warz forums are perma forum/game account banning people for discussing this review and posting links to this review. you have been warned.

and no worries im fully aware this is standard practice. i was one of the games and developers last warriors.  i defended them until they gave me no other direction but to stop defennding them.   since day oe i was a HUGE monetary and forum and internet supporter.  over 2000 posts on the forums. since aug 2012.   over 200 hurs game play, and now im banned for posting in the topic about this review agreeing with the review.  i was turned by the developers from a supporter to a enemy. with the server rental fiasco. they LIED straight out to everyone about it.

here is the quote from the mod when closing before banning all of us in the topic from the forums and game. which is going to far, and is going to get them in a bit of trouble here as my emails get to the right people.

""Rehash of several old reviews from when the game got pulled from steam, written by a

kid that doesn't even "work" for that website, go figure.""

THIS ^^^^^  is the official thinking, thats how the developers and moderators are looking at reviews....including the pc gamer and several other major sites. i mean yes mmorpg web site is a small niche fora certain type of person that pretty much normal real gamers dont take into account when looking for a game. but its still a review by a respected web site, and the response from the developers and moderators, is to silence all negative topics, they are perma banning giving no reasons.  and giving out game account bans with it.  so not only can you NOT talk about this review, post about this review, if you do youll be perma banned from the GAME and the FORUMS.

thats how desperate the hamerpoint staff is, resorting to perma banning any kind of talk about reviews.

    Solid review, agree 100%
  • AstropuyoAstropuyo Member RarePosts: 2,178

It's a solid review, however completely unlike other reviews on mmorpg.

The numbers are way too low, not even ET should obtain these numbers.

It seems like an assasination of a product (more so than it already killed it self) and to further it's not really a mmorpg, this belongs on FPSguru more than mmorpg.com.

Look at the numbers you guys have given other games, this is a completely biased article, as aware as I am this is a guest, the "writer in charge" probably should of said "keep the numbers consistant with our  numerical system as to not completely moot the point of the numerical system."

Later, MMORPG can refer to this review when accused of making biased reviews, and show all their readers that indeed, they are not biased. They bashed a game and gave it a shockingly bad score when everyone else was doing the exact same thing.

Yet his post had the content fill of a person agrieved.

I don't think you know Hammerpoint if you don't think this is out of line. If anything it sounds very everyday at Hammerpoint.

I'm sure their small team of mods can do the old "send to account" any issues caused on the board, I know in warinc that if you got out of hand on the forums you were banned from the game, so. The power is there.

Depends on the game.  Some forums have very heavy handed mods (Fan boys make some of the worst mods), not to mention that the Dev's (or head Dev) usually have access to the forums, and they usually DO have full access to all such.

Given the reception to this game, I'd have no doubt they have gone into full siege mode, and are in full damage control mode as well.  Given some of the antics involved, I'd not rule out sock puppets either.

I was sooo mad when Steam pulled this game before I could purchase it. I thought I was missing out on something that looked so BA. I ranted around the house all day and tried to find a copy from my friends in the industry.

Now I'm glad Steam saved me from spending my money and wasting my time.

Thanks for the review, I feel much better and so glad I didn't waste my time.

It has always been available from their website since at least October 2012.

As I and others have pointed out, you really can't base an opinion on this terribly outdated review.

    No it isn't.

The only true thing in this review is the audio.

Also the game is not plagued with hackers, I'm not saying there is no hackers... but there's not many hackers like months ago. It's pretty rare to find hackers lately.

Also I'm not saying the game deserves like 9 or 8 it deserves around 5-6 not 1. [mod edit]

is this guy a hacker in that video? He is killing players without them hearing any kind of sound because he has a sniper that has silencer. I think there was a total of like 4 players calling him hacker. Learn to play before calling everyone hacker. I've killed a player in airport with a 1911 from like 200 meters away, I have a lot of experience with fps games playing counterstrike since 1.4 or was it 1.3? i can't remember anyways L2P tyvm.

I really thought this game had a lot of potential - and still does if they would ever manage to ban out all the hackers.  I quit going to the site out of despaire of ever getting a private server.

I invested 20 bucks to play it.  I certainly played it long enough to think it was worth my money - i thought it was a pretty, if frustrating, game, and if they had given us the things they kept promising, i'd probably still be playing it.  But there comes a day when you just say 'I am tired of waiting for this to actually be fun all the time' - rather than struggle for hours for a few minutes of real fun, I'll move on.

As I have already pointed out, private servers do exist.

Sergey Titov is the most unprofessional, Immature, and incompetant CO I have ever seen. He is both dishonest and incompetent, and simply put a narcissist and a sociopath. In my early 20's I did a lot of level design of my own for Quake 3, Half-Life, Left4Dead, and Call of Duty and I must admit War Z displays astonishing design ineptitude, even I myself could do a better job of level design, and I'm not even qualified!!

A Shameful display of community relations, calling people names and insulting people like a 10 year old would, absolutly uncalled for and disgusting.

I see what your saying, it would be acceptable if he was just a player of some sort god knows there are all kinds of gamers out there who make racist and homophobic comments.

But My friend he is a CO of a gaming company, He is suppost to be professional. What he posted was also Homophobic and Bigotted.  There is a million ways he could of vented his frustration without dropping the F bomb. It's no differn't then someone dropping the N bomb. I'm sure he didn't mean it now because people called him out on it, and it ended up hurting his company in the long run, but this kind of crap is No differn't then some Polition spouting off racist or homophobic rants in some stupid blog or facebook. It isn't ok, and it's wrong, it's even more wrong when he's a CO and Representing a Gaming Company to the public. posting that shit on a public forum. He should of known better.

You're Correct, I don't speak to people like that, because when i was little I was taught a little thing called respect, and civility by my Perants. I work as a fitness instructor and I work for a well known company here in Canada, if I ever spoke to people like that I would be fired on the spot. Even if the CO of the company spoke to our customers like that he could be reprimanded for it.

Most of the hate I've seen surrounding the game has been towards the developers, but to me I don't really care what the developers say or do, I don't judge a game by its developer.

Most of the bad things I've seen about the actual game I don't think are as bad as what is said. The graphics are pretty bad, but then again DayZ's graphics aren't great either. People complained a lot about hackers, but with around 20 hours of gameplay I can't say I ran into a single hacker, in my opinion people get shot from behind or by someone they can't see and they get angry and accuse their killer of hacking, not saying there aren't hackers just that most of the hacker cases aren't real hackers, also I've played DayZ barely any more than War Z and ran into several hackers there.

In the case of innovation, I never judge any game by innovation. I don't care if it's a ripoff of DayZ, I don't care if there's several zombie survival games that all work the same way with slight variations, I really don't care, all it does is give me choices. I can choose to play the game with global inventory and safe zones(this is assuming a future where the War Z actually works itself out) or I can choose to play the more hardcore(in my opinion) zombie survival DayZ without safe zones or global invetories. As a gamer, all I want are the choices, nothing else matters, I don't care how similar it is to other games, the better game will always prevail, so caring about "oh it's ripping off so-and-so" really isn't worth it.

With VoIP, in the case of DayZ, I just find it annoying. I'm always annoyed when I hear someones loud annoying voice come up out of nowhere, or just a bunch of loud static or mumbling, or people that can't speak English or can barely speak it or understand it. Just annoying.

Besides those points, yes, War Z has a lot of problems as a game, but I've played worse games that have gotten much higher scores than this. I find it stupid.

And no, I'm not a War Z fanboy, I prefer DayZ, though I wouldn't mind if another DayZ ripoff came out with global inventory and safe zones and a few other differences but isn't as bad as War Z and doesn't have bad developers, because it would give me another choice, and I never reject having more choices.

This review was written for nothing but attention.

1.7? Total joke lol Don't get me wrong, I cannot stand the game and what the company has done in terms of public practice, but you were totally right. His opinion was biased based on the out of game actions, nothing you can say would make me believe otherwise.

It's hilarious to see the scores of some god damn awful games on here, and then to give this a 1.7?

You've given other games, that are practically text and image based, higher aesthetic scores than a 3D open world game with standard graphics? Lol
