It'll have an auction house, so it's clearly a M.U.L.E. clone.

Well for me the problems with tsw were characters graphic design and animations. Everything else was pretty dam good. If blzz was "cloning" tsw I'm sure they wouldnt fudge up the same things. If they are going in a more mature modern style I may actually be interested. Never felt drawn to wow do to the cartoony styling not being my cup of tea. I for one like to at least see the gameplay or better yet play myself before coming to any kind of opinnion on any game....

God... why are so many gamers so small minded...

since World of Warcraft opened it's gates, SUCH A HUGE infection of low-brainers entered the marked and despoiling every inch of what once was a wonderful niche. I guess that is it with everything what more than 10k humans touch, right? It breaks. Magically.

Not in a single MMO before WoW people came up with comparisons of next titles. They simple enjoyed their current experience, waved goodbye and didnt "MMAFUGGAIMGONNASHHHONDISTITLE / GAME X SO MUCH BETTAH THEN TIHS BULL!"

God, please. Give them a working brain. Let them grasp at least a tiny inch of reality...

It is so... sad? Yes, sad. To see you people acting all black and white.

Why always compare, compare, compare? Are you that afraid of new things that you dont want to experience it first and then give your opinion? No, you are so scared of new things that you have to set up patterns first, for your mind to even allow yourself to experience something new. ROFL

Insanity!!! No wonder this world is breaking apart.

Thats how it was in any games back in the day not just mmorpg.  People now bash on every type of game. Thats what happens cuz gaming got more and more popular and now its very mainsteam industry.

"We use the world" but you never see most of it and teleport from 5 street london to 5 street New York in an underground vine system.

It will be funny if they do go there but using WoW as their better example you can travel overworld to any place in the game.

Wouldent it be cool if they made a 1:1 scale model of the world in which you could go anywhere?

Is that possible with modern day tech?

    New engine.

What is Blizzard's graphic style mean?

also magic and future weapons. Not sure about that kind of theme.

Also the combat. How can it be aim based and Tab target? Also how can it be on consoles if its like that?

    Never played Zelda? Z Targeting/aim = tab targeting/aim

Time Traveling sounds like a codeword for alot of single player instanced content.

    No thanks.

All the best to them but lost me at...

    • Graphics will be in the established "Blizzard style".
    • It's designed with eSports in mind. They will try to grow it into a successful eSport.

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

Of course it's possible.  Just a question of accuracy and fun.

Accuracy meaning nobody has access to the internal blueprints of every building on earth, but a simplified map (and even a google maps-quality one with detailed building and height information) would certainly be possible.

Fun meaning a 1:1 model of the world with real travel times is likely to be just as boring as the 6-hour flights I took to and from Hawaii.  The destination was fantastic; the travel was boring (despite reading a fantastic book during the flight, The Name of the Wind.)

Thats a cool crystal ball you got there, can I borrow it?

Why would they make a WoW clone when they are going to make both MMO's exist at the same time?

That would directly compete with their existing MMO...

    That makes literally no sense.

Its not going to be a WoW clone, sorry.

So there is no way you could have a game with time travel that isn't instanced?

So you couldn't have a place (like a central nexus) with time portals that enter you into differnent zones throughout 'history'?

It just seems like a lot of people are coming here to post completely unfounded 'doom and gloom'.

Which you are welcome to do so, but it might be jumping the gun a bit, which I think you know.

All those millions of dollars of profit from WoW and years of secrecy over the fabled Titan project and it boils down to this...Carmen Sandiego -all ages- MMO with combat. Part educational, low system req and pvp for the older subcribers.

Yeah when I think time travel I think Carmen Sandiego.  No wait, I think Dr. Who, Star Trek, Star Gate, Wheel of Time, and other great Sci Fi  IPs.

Again, people coming here with jaded thoughts and an unhealthy dislike for Blizzard, and its entirely coloring the information they are gathering.

    :-(

There are very few games that are all original. Anything with Orcs .. well that is Tolkien. Dragons are part of every cultures mythos, same goes for vampires (or creatures that feed off the life essence of others). Elves ... nope those are Old English/Scandanvian folklore. Faeries come from lots of different places. Space themes could be taken from many different literary sources. So every game borrows from somewhere or everywhere, it is just the nature of the beast.

The Starcraft and Warcraft ideas were literally copies of another IP. Blizzard originally had the Warhammer IPs and lost them. Diablo as far as I'm aware wasn't based off anything but those two are. So troll attempt not withstanding, they are indeed clones of an existing IP.

Not that it matters. SC & WC are much more successful than any Warhammer games. Thus, originality of the IP is not that important.

Heck, i would care less if Blizz did Star Trek, or Dr Who. It is about implementation, design of mechanics, and polish. Blizz has spades of all of those things.
