I really tried to like Neverwinter but the controls messed it up for me. I dont particulary like GW2 but at least I can configure my controls to what I like.
Well as much as I enjoy the feel of NW, I don't see it lasting half as long for me as GW2. Complaints of the cash shop, less than stellar solo play, etc... I find the game best when grouped with a friend, but I also prefer to feel I'm enjoying myself when no one's online. Instead I feel aimless. Worse in fact, since the questing is so linear - there's even a pretty trail to follow if you want to leave it turned on. Clerics are still boss though.
Played both games and prefer gw2 in a landslide. I don't see myself picking never winter back up. Even if I am bored. Gw2 is not that great either but definitely more enjoyable.
For me is Neverwinter better game, gw2 have awesome graphic but there is no reward for leveling and i feel so meaningless there, maybe when they launch arena pvp like in wow i try gw2 again. At least you have always something to do in Neverwinter

I do like NW so far .. but it is NOT AD&D. They changes the mechanics so much that it is so far away from AD&D that i regard it as a different system.
Couldn't agree more. Neverwinter is as mush as AD&D as much as Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance and Demonstone are AD&D. Neverwinter is just a typical themepark on rails MMO in a D&D skin and is nothing more than an IP cash grab like SWTOR was. Game might be fun but it is so far from resembling anything D&D besides names that it is a disgrace to D&D. But hey... Wizards are getting their royalties so they can care less. Wizards sunk to a new low when they sponsored and advocated Neverwinter as a D&D game.
played neverwinter, it's shit tbh. Boring uninteresting way to easy to hit abilities no skill involved at all (hell even wow was harder with its tab targetin -.-') dont bother with ti

Ummmm its called WvW .. and its been around since the game came out..
It's a tough comparison. I don't play either of them any more for the simple reason that I have nothing left that I want to do in either game. GW2 took me 5 months to reach that point. Neverwinter took 1 month.
Different horses for different courses, I know. Take from that what you will.
I really like GW2 in beta, be some reason after launch I expected more from it. I also don't understand why my AMD can't run the game at max settings, since it is a top of the line system. I really become uninterested in games that use "nvidia" only api's or only foicus on optimizing for nvidia because of some bull shit back alley deal they have with them. It rather frustrates me and that leeches itself into the game because of poor performance of the graphics and over look, that looks like GW1 on my amazing pc. GW 2 WvWvW is an epic biore fest since it is instances andnot part of the true land areas of the game. I'm so bored to death with instances pvp . If you are going to make it instance, to have me running for 10 minutes looking for someone to gank.
Neverwinter I max ther graphicsout, game looks great. polished world, great story and to the point gmeplay leaves me to beleieve that Cryptic has the better game. Neverwinters ability to reach a larger ammount of gaming types helps it pull in more revenue then GW2.
BEcause GW2 just fell off after beta for many different reason, I find myself enjoying Neverwinter, a lot. So for me , NEverwinter is better game of 2013.
Better Game Engine
Better optimization of textures
Better story writing
Better combat synergy
Better combat mechanics
A lot more challenging pvp minigames.
From what I see the performance between comparable AMD and NVIDIA cards isn't that different, so I'm not sure what you talking about.
Unless you mean you have an AMD CPU - GW2 is heavy on the CPUs and INTEL CPUs fare better (they are also more expensive). Still GW2 has problems with some high end configurations for some reason.

IF you read about the lawsuit that Intel "settled" with AMD on, intel used micro controllers on certain products to hinder performance of AMD products . Nvidia has not been sued by AMD yet, but it is my understanding that Nvidia will give companies "bonus" if they "only" optimize for their product.
IF found liable, they will be in a bunch of hot water with the Free Trade Act.
When I look at Gw2 graphics, there's nothing in them that screams "high gpu / cpu usage" THe graphics look almost dated on my machine. They weren't like that during beta...
Beta Graphics :
Physics.
That is what kills the CPUs in GW2.
There is a reason even shooters stay in around 16/32 players for multiplayer, with only a handful of games going to 64. Plus you have the AI and all the scripts.
And also, tons of players armor, even if lower quality graphics, will be more demanding than a few players with higher quality graphics - that is why my 4.5GHz FX 6300 crawls to 30 fps or less in Lions Arch or WvW but churns 70+ FPS elsewhere (7870XT @1150).
Plus there is some random spikes in the faster GPUs, regardless from being AMD or NVIDIA.
I haven't noticed any difference between Beta and now, graphics wise.

GW2 - Classes felt bland, world was cluttered with hearts/quests, just couldn't get into my class, and the world felt too cluttered with checklists for my liking.
NW - Didn't like the UI, and the classes seemed to be too dumbed down, with minimal abilities, during my short play time there. Also not a huge fan of over instancing, so foundry didn't offer much hope that things would get better.
So, while I wasn't a huge fan of either, I would vote GW2, seems to have a lot more going for it imo, if these are the two you are deciding on.

For some reason, I want to log-in to Neverwinter, but not to GW2, GW2 feels lonely compare to Neverwinter, even, if it is in an open beta.
For the moment Neverwinter is the only game I really want/love to play.
He that lives upon Hope dies farting.
GW2 is better. Neverwinter feels clumsy and not very fluid, atleast the combat.
If combat isn't polished then it pretty much sums it up.

Isn't that a... bad thing?
Ok so i created an account JUST because one of the first couple posts stated that gw2 isnt free and has free weekends..
You need to read before you just start giving wrong information. Guild Wars 2 has been free since it came out. 100% FREE
Dont act like a know it all. PLAY GUILD WARS 2! FREE FOR LIFE. BEST QUESTING STYLE MMO EVER AND GREAT PVP / WVW
Ummmm its called WvW .. and its been around since the game came out..
Yeah this guy... WRONG!! Dude actually do some reading.....
Then why is it on sale right now ?
It's buy to play not free genius.

No idea.
If anything the performance increased since beta for my system.
